Just to warn people. I have shopped occasionally with HMV and had no issues in the past. However, in the last month I ordered a number of items in two orders. 3 blurays in each order. Only one item in each order was sent out. When I contacted them, which is almost impossible, they said all the items were in the parcels. The two parcels were only big enough to hold one bluray each. When I pointed this out and told them 4 items were not sent they just insisted the other items were in there and must have been lost in the post. They insisted its a Royal Mail issue. Impossible. I also ordered a limited edition item when it was advertised as being in stock. I paid by PayPal. The item never dispatched. They are now telling me its out of stock. They said they are working on getting more in but I know that’s not possible as it is a discontinued limited edition. They still have my 54 pounds. I will miss Zoom. I never had an issue like this.

Maybe PayPal can help? What are their policies? A £500 sound system was delivered to a completely different address, my bank refunded me the cost of the item after unsuccessfully trying to sort things out with the supplier. Hooe you get your money back Sir.

Rob W thank you. They have just refunded me for some of the items but not the limited edition one yet. Its the fact that I ordered a limited edition item that said it was in stock when it wasn’t that was also worrying. I used to order my Dr Who stuff from Zoom and I spoke to a rep from Zoom today who denies they are closing but says they have issues with the suppliers of the Dr Who range. Hope it gets resolved.

Being as they have nothing on pre-order past March from anyone, i dont think Doctor Who “supplies” has anything to do with it.

I am sure you are right booboo. A senior manager at zoom told me last year that the merger was happening from April 2021. What he couldn’t tell me back then was how it would impact on their online store and on their catalogue. I will be sad to see zoom gobif its true. The more online stores there are the more competition there is and the more the prices stay low.

    Got this from zoom today:

“As this item is a limited edition in order to guarantee that you would get a copy we would advise that you place a pre-order elsewhere as it will currently not be available with us.
Apologies for any disappointment caused by this.”

Not a good sign when a company advises you to shop elsewhere

So someone has now had their Web of Fear Steel book order cancelled with Zoom. Obviously a sign of what is to come with the company. Has anyone had their Dr Who 50th Anniversary Steel book fulfilled by Zoom? That will be a sign of whether we are going to get our Season 8 box sets fulfilled. Both were marked as unavailable at the same time on their site but not taken down.

But surely it won’t be. They wouldn’t release 2 months in a row, would they?

How many releases will there be this year?

    • Auton

      February 4th, 2021 - 8:04am

If it was being released in April wouldn’t we have heard something about that now as April is only 2 months away

    • Anonymous

      February 4th, 2021 - 8:49am

To be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was released late-April, early-May as nearly every big ray box set has been released four months after it was announced, taking delays into consideration. This was announced late-January, so I’m guessing after all the delays, we’ll probably be getting this at the earliest st the end of April and the very latest, the end of May, though I’m guessing we’ll most likely get it mid-May.

    • Gordon

      February 4th, 2021 - 8:56am

Even if it’s late April it’s still over 2 and a half months away. Season 24 is a fairly simple set compared with season 8. From what I’ve heard a good chunk of season 24 bonus materials have been delivered so I wouldn’t rule it out

    • Bobby Fackrell

      February 4th, 2021 - 3:34pm

I don’t think that it is that unusual, there were significant delays last year but they were still working on these sets, if two are close to being ready at the same time why not bang them out close together? Just looks like some catch up to me

    • Pete X

      February 4th, 2021 - 4:37pm

If the collection is self financing, then being down three releases (S26 was pushed back from 2019 afterwhich there was only S14 released), might be a problem.

In order to be able to create a stock of new VAM when convienient to the contributer’s rather than according to a release schedule (iirc Lalla Ward’s interviews for S16/17 have already been recorded before she moved abroad), a shorter release spacing might be needed now to keep the VAM funding coming in.

    • Prof Horner

      February 4th, 2021 - 8:50pm

Which means it will probably be late May! Not that I am bothered when it comes out . Just the quicker it it comes out the quicker the next one comes out.

    • Bushboy

      February 4th, 2021 - 9:37pm

My understanding is that the tentative release dates here in New Zealand are: Season 8, 26th of May (same as Australia) and Season 24, 28th July. That seems to fit with an April release for Season 24 in the UK as we seem to get them about 3 months after that.

    • daz

      February 9th, 2021 - 7:48pm

      BrBa.

They did do 2 in 2 months last year if you count the 2nd edition of Season 12.

I expect May or June for Season 24 though. Unless they are hoping to catch up with ‘easier’ to release sets this year.

      The more the merrier.

    Hello

I’m close to selling my entire collection Blu-Ray collection. I have all the seasons up to date including the first prints and replacement discs all in great condition. Due to the pandemic having to wait like a year till from last season to Season 8 then Season 24 it’s making me want to sell.

What do you guys think I should do?

What month do you reckon Season 24 will release and what do you reckon will be the next season after that plus release date?

2 of the ones I most want are Seasons 6 and 21 but they will probably take years.

    Much appreciated

    Thanks

Also how much value do you think these will hold after all the collections are out?

Do you think when they inevitably rerelease these but in worse packaging that it will lower the value of these nice packaging ones much?

    • Anonymous

      February 1st, 2021 - 10:03pm

You have to do what’s right for you and if your waiting for 2 specific seasons then maybe just sell the ones you have. However, I think if you are looking for financial gain down the line then hold onto them but dont just make it the sole reason you collect them as there are other fans out there who want them for the sheer joy. Please dont think I’m criticising as I’m sure we have all thought about the financial gains of this collection. My series 10 is signed by katy manning, but I’ve always believed that if you dont collect it because you want to or because you enjoy it, then dont do it and get something you will enjoy. Hope that’s helps you a bit.

    • daz

      February 1st, 2021 - 10:06pm

Just look on eBay or CEX to see how they are selling at the moment.

Considering the collection was always going to take around 6 years or so to be completed before the pandemic I’m surprised you are thinking of selling? It’s a long term commitment just like the vhs and then dvd range was.

If you are not bothered about the special features though just sell them and subscribe to Britbox for your who fix.

      February 1st, 2021 - 10:16pm

      Hi, Daz

I knew it would be a big commitment but then an extra year was added on due to the pandemic and I will add that these are the first time I am watching 99% of the episodes.

I would like to keep them but at the same time people are buying them for hefty prices, I’m no scalper but it sure makes it tempting.

      Anyway we’ll see

Jake, if you need the money I’d say sell them. But if you are doing okay financially and you want to keep them because at sone point you are likely to re-watch them then keep collecting.

    • Bobby Fackrell

      February 2nd, 2021 - 8:11am

I’m not sure 6 will take that long, 6, 2 and 1 have the most complete episodes from the black and white era. If you do a Troughton release, 6 is the obvious one. Also judging by the quality of the DVDs the episodes look in good condition, Seeds got a remaster as well. Space Pirates is a problem but at the end of the day if it’s missing it is missing. There are options, audio only with narration, chuck in a documentary and the single episode or empty tray it for the animated release. 21 won’t take too long either they are banging out the 80s ones quite quickly. Resurrection and Caves got special edition remastered DVD releases so they are in good shape

    • Scott Carrick

      February 3rd, 2021 - 6:22pm

Think the next release after Season 24 will be either Season 16 or 17, around 8th September if Season 24 isn’t delayed and comes out as planned on or about 8th June. Think the much delayed Season 20 will be delayed again until 2022 to get the Behind The Sofa, Documentaries and other VAM Content completed.

    • Jake E

      February 3rd, 2021 - 10:45pm

I’ve had a couple £850 offers among other offers but I think after watching some more episodes that I want to keep my set.

They are too gorgeous looking on my shelf to sell haha.

Also I’ve had some brand new seasons from Amazon etc and sold them in the past, so these I bought second hand on eBay but I feel lucky that a guy was selling one season on eBay and I just happen to ask him if he had all the seasons and he said yes and that he would sell them to me. So I managed to get him down to just slightly over their original price for the lot. I don’t think I will ever find them that cheap again, and at least I know I can make a huge profit one day if I change my mind

Cheers everyone for the replies, I look forward to what is to come

With loads of news about Zoom going next month unsure what to do. Have season 8 and WebOfFear steel book on order with them. Do I wait and see what happens (for full the orders) or cancel them and order from HMV? Didn’t wanna leave it until the last minute as then they might sell out and Zoom cancels them, but then don’t want to cancel and then HMV don’t get the stock and cancel. Amazon taking the market left right and centre

You could always preorder from hmv as a back up and cancel if zoom starts processing your order. Zoom start processing orders the Monday before release and if your order moves to the warehouse you could always cancel it then. The season 8 set I’m more worried about than the web steelbook. None of the animated steelbooks have been particularly difficult to get hold of day 1

    • Timelord 1944

      February 1st, 2021 - 7:28pm

I actually spoke to a member of zoom staff on the phone about season 8 and the best they could say was ‘it should be alright.’ Mind you the same member of staff told me they would be getting season 24 and then contradicted herself a few days later so I am worried. Although Season 8 and the 50th anniversary bluray are still on the site you are no longer able to order them, which is odd. I have had to order a back up copy of Season 8 elsewhere just in case but this late in the day who knows what might happen there. However, I could always sell it later for £44.95 to someone who missed out or cancel it if zoom dispatch. Its the most stressful release out of them all and I thought Season 14 and Season 12 re-release were stressful.

For what its worth, i have ordered every single release of “The Collection” from Amazon UK and had no issues. All have arrived in perfect condition (usually in the Amazon branded “wrap” cardboard box thingy) and no later than release day but usually the Saturday or Sunday before. I hope this continues as i will be very annoyed to find myself with either a gap on the shelf or having to pay £100’s for one that doesnt make its way to my door

So have the majority, people tend to post about the negative experiences rather than the positive, cancellations generally happen for a reason and the recent round was because of overseas buyers and Brexit in many ways outside of Amazon’s control, many other retailers have had issues with this but Amazon are then tagged with a “amazon just cancel orders” when in reality there is much more to it.

As with the UK, many overseas people will find themselves with a “shock” Vat and handling cost bill.

Zoom were good, but also picked up a lot of business because the (ongoing for a while) 10% and people tend to get them a few days early.

Why Amazon doesn’t allow to buy Doctor Who BDs from outside UK but Zoom and Zavvi does?

  • Timelord 1944

    February 1st, 2021 - 2:15am

I think these are worrying times for physical media in the UK. Firstly we have the rumours of the ever reliable Zoom closing down, HMV have been on rocky ground for a few years and Zavvi sends its stock from the Channel Islands in Jiffy Bags, which is hardly ideal for collectible items. In fact I complained so much to Zavvi that instead of rectifying the issue they blocked me from buying altogether. Argos are closing stores left right and centre and don’t stock every release anyway. Soon amazon might be our only option for buying these DW Collection releases. Not ideal. There have been issues with cancelled orders in the past with amazon. It’s all a bit worrying. Its hard enough to get hold of these sets when we have multiple options.

My thoughts are limited edition sets should be limited to one per customer. Zavvi ought to offer better packaging, Isn’t there some kind of ‘shortage’ of carboard due to increased online ordering?

    • Timelord 1944

      February 1st, 2021 - 11:26am

Rob W or the releases should be less limited. A Zoom senior manager told me that they could sell each set ten times over and to help the physical media industry the BBC should be producing more, still limit them but produce more than they are. Now Zoom are closing down as their parent company has to merge to survive. They should have listened to him.

    • booboo

      February 1st, 2021 - 11:50am

Don’t believe the 10x more for one minute, the market is not infinite.

Zoom would only sell 10x more if no one else sold it.

    • Gordon

      February 1st, 2021 - 2:36pm

Zoom has hundreds of items in stock. If they were basing their survival on how many copies they get in of 1 item every 3-4 months they they probably weren’t being run properly to begin with. A company can’t run on 1 item alone. We don’t know how long this merger has been planned. Some mergers last months or even years before they are given the go ahead

I recently watched a video on YouTube about the inconsistency in episode 4 of Remembrance of the daleks and how there was reportedly lots cut from the filmed material and original script. It would be interesting to see if they do an extended cut with any missing material and if it is put back to it’s original story. Have you ever heard about this Gordon?

I think it’s obvious there’s loads cut from the Remembrance script you can just tell from the the final edit but I too would be interested to know how much extra stuff was filmed and not used. Fenric was so richly enhanced by the extended versions oli would love to see something similar for Remembrance

    • Gordon

      February 1st, 2021 - 10:10am

All the 71 edits exist for season 25 so I’m sure they could do an extended remembrance when the time comes. There was about 12 minutes of deleted and extend scenes on the dvd so I’m sure something can be done with it. With season 25 I can see possibly extended versions of all episodes like season 24. Happiness patrol and silver nemesis both have over 20 mins of extended and deleted scenes on their prospective DVDs and in the case of silver nemesis there was some stuff that didn’t even make the dvd. I know there was the vhs version but that didn’t include everything. I’m sure the vhs version will also be included too. They found the original mastertapes a couple of years ago (it was mislabelled and believed to have been lost) so I’m certain it will be included this time round. Greatest show also has 12 minutes of extended and deleted scenes so that could also get a possible extended version.

I don’t think they are canceling orders but they don’t have any blu rays up to preorder after the 8th of March with the exception of the web steelbook. They didn’t get tenet before Christmas and they don’t even have Wonder Woman 84 up to preorder which I’d assume would be a big seller for them. Something serious is going on

Gordon, Zoom could be waiting for a release date confirmation from BBC Studios. As if falls after March, which is pretty much a definite then Warner Bros will be dealing with it as they are taking over.

Hopefully it will remain and not be closing down though. I will swap my pre-order from Amazon to them once and if it appears.

      Seen this posted elsewhere:

Zoom are in the processing of closing down. Not officially announced but lots of rumours online.

They were pulling all their TBA pre-orders, with Web of Fear last to go. Think their most in the future title left is DW S8 on 8th March.

Will be closing because Zoom’s owners Universal U.K. are pulling out of distribution here. The global distribution tie up between Warner and Universal means that Warner will be distributing both companies titles outside US. Universal have also lost the distribution of Paramount.

All this means that Warner Shop U.K. run as a franchise by Entertainment Store will be the go to store in future.

Not sure if they will take on Zoom’s other customers like Disney, Studio Canal, BBC, Sony, Criterion and 88 Films.

Yes I heard that Zoom was going. I spoke to a senior manager there a few months ago who told me about the changes and said many of Universal’s titles will disappear and Warmer will have to reduce their own catalogue in the merger. A lot of Universal titles have not been manufactured again as stock has run out. Even recently released titles. I am worried about the season 8 release. I did hear the changes come into effect from April so as long as the bluray release isn’t put back again it should be OK. It’s very sad as Zoom are my favourite online retailer.

@timelord1944 that adds up. If they are shutting in April it makes sense to stop preorders from March to offload as much of their stock as possible. I’m sure season 8 will be fine as they are still running in March. It’s web of fear I’m more concerned with. With each passing week it’s looking unlikely it will be out before they close down. I’m sure they will cancel and refund though.

@workin guy zoom have been good every time I used their customer services. Not used zavvi enough to judge their customer service but I hear they can be a mixed bag

I wonder how Lee Binding will approach the artwork for the Series 21 box given that JNT took the decision all those years ago to include Colin’s debut – The Twin Dilemma at the end of the final Davison Series. If he follows his usual template and has a large image of the Doctor in the centre of the box then will he be depicted as undergoing regeneration or will there be 2 Doctors on the front of the box?. It’s a long way off to perhaps be thinking about this but it is quite a unique situation to have to address- particularly within Classic Who and given that these releases are specified as season collections.

I believe Lee has said in the past that when it comes to Seasons 4 & 21 he’ll only have one Doctor on the front and the interior book holder design will have a picture of the Doctor which had the least amount of stories that season. So assuming that’s still his intention then Season 4 should have Troughton on the front cover and Hartnell inside and Season 21 would be Davison on front and Colin Baker inside.

    • Anonymous

      January 29th, 2021 - 5:49pm

He might end up using Davison (in his battered Androzani clothing holding his celery/bat’s milk) and Baker in 5th’s costume on the insert with Peri outside the Tardis in wherever the Twin Dilemma is set as never paid much attention beyond the early scenes in the Tardis from that story…

    • Coleman

      January 29th, 2021 - 7:41pm

I think both Doctors on the front cover would be good. Davison Infront as it’s his Season with Baker slightly behind like a regenerating Shadow of soughts.

    • Gordon

      January 28th, 2021 - 12:20am

All depends on how much of an input they had planned for him. If they were planning on getting him for behind the sofa they could probably do it without him but if there was any features that specifically require him that could hold things up further

    • Scott Carrick

      January 28th, 2021 - 1:06pm

Gordon could they not film him in a studio in New Zealand or via Zoom or something interacting with the rest of the cast here in the UK for Behind The Sofa or any other docs they need him for? I can’t see that being the reason for the hold up. More likely it’s the planned trip to Amsterdam or another Documentary, and with what’s happening over there I don’t think that trip will be happening anytime soon or maybe ever 🙁

    • TheWHOlegacy

      January 28th, 2021 - 2:17pm

Behind the sofa and the Amsterdam trip is most likely the issue. They can hold off the season for a while as they have plenty of other seasons they could get on with. For all we know we might get 2 seasons this year just like we did last year. Hopefully with vaccines they can work on other seasons later in the year whilst they wait for new Zealand to open up again.

      January 28th, 2021 - 2:33pm

Russell Minton who heads up these sets said in the current doctor who magazine “absolutely not” at the possibility of using zoom to record behind the sofa. Zoom isn’t perfect for recording. They are at the mercy of the internet connection. They could film him and if the audio has drop outs or the video cuts out at any point it could void the whole recording especially if it involves him talking to other people and reacting to a tv show. The problem with filming him in a studio in New Zealand is the team that works on these sets are all U.K. based and have no way of getting over to film him

I wonder perhaps if the reason Zoom still haven’t gotten stock is because they decided to just sell that misprinted batch of season 12 re-releases that they found a couple of months back instead of sending them back to the BBC. The BEEB might be angry with them for giving them more hassle having to send out replacement discs again.

Once all the paperwork has been signed off and they amend the products they sell or even change name, but season 24 is months off and the WHO Blu-ray Boxsets and even the DVDs are big sellers so it would be remiss of any company not to capitalise and order its quota of these. I can afford to wait until April+ and see what transpires.

I’ve got my order in with Amazon.

I think the process for these limited sets has changed now. Open the pre-orders for a couple of months to get stock amounts needed. Work out release date. Then produce them in time.

Could be wrong but best way in my opinion.

Those saying they’ll wait as it’s not a good Season shouldn’t as all previous sets have sold out. Personally I don’t see the point in collecting these if you don’t want all 26 Seasons.

Roll on Season 16 next (my prediction).

“Season 19 won’t sell out as Peter isn’t as popular as Tom”: sells out just over a month after release

“Season 23 won’t sell out as it’s a turd ”: sells out 3 weeks after release

“Season 26 won’t sell out as Sylvester isn’t popular enough: sells out 2 weeks after release

    • the ergon

      January 28th, 2021 - 7:30am

I think it will sell out no question but this is all ‘after release’. It doesn,t stop people Pre ordering or changing their minds if they have doubts but i,m sure all units will be evened out so as companies like Amazon and Zavvi can,t monopolise and there is an even playing field when it comes to distribution. I,m confident ‘Zoom’ will get theirs in and apparently they have responded saying they just haven,t got around to ordering as yet. So they are aware. Also there has been spare stock and second chance rereleases for companies like HMV and Argos to get in on the act, for people who do leave until the last minute or who have preorded early and received late, cancelled or damaged items from the likes of Amazon and Zavvi.

“2021” is all we have so far. We’ve seen what appears to be art of a new Colin Baker image for the Collection which would suggest Season 22 might be next after this.

The decision to release S24 opposed to 20 (ignoring the delayed filmining), 21, or 22, might have been influenced by the number of stories within the season, 4 rather than 6 or 7. Taking the pandemic restrictions into account, fewer stories makes for fewer people to arrange filming with, fewer stories to work out new VAM for and film/complete in a non-lockdown period of uncertain length.

If I remember correctly, the delay to S20 was COVID preventing proposed filming in Amsterdam. If something similar is planned for other seasons with stories with locations filmed abroad then that would also mean delay to S17, S21 and S22 (especially so given The Two Doctors doesn’t have a making of) and possibly for some time under present circumstances.

If there is a third release this year, I think it likely to be either S15 or S16, assuming there is sufficient time to complete VAM once the current lockdown is ended.

No idea John T, but as Season 8 is out on March 8th I’d hazard a guess at three months later on or around June 8th. I’m guessing maybe one more release after that around September/October time, either Season 20, or because of the rumored delays to that Season another Tom one, either Season 16 or 17. Agreed, the worst series, but having just watched the Dvd versions straight after Blu Ray S26, the chasm is minimal in 2021. I think S26 does not look so good now, whereas S24 has a lot of fun to it.
But the real bonus in this set is extended versions. After the truly appalling decision to re release Power of the Daleks, which has killed off my interest in cartoon Who as older fans who refuse to watch it have branded it, I welcome real footage of Dr Who that I have not seen after watching S24 most years since 1987…

Have to disagree with you Anonymous – I think the stories in Season 26 are Head and Shoulders better than Season 24. However, the vast array of extended versions, new Documentaries and VAM means I’m willing to re-evaluate Season 24 and hope to be pleasantly surprised. As you say, after 2020 and the way 2021 is shaping up already, even the worst season of Classic Who will be welcome :-)!

Having not viewed any s24 episodes in ooh, twenty-five, thirty years, I decided to reacquaint myself using a 7 day Britbox trial. The trauma induced by re-watching these episodes-especially Paradise Towers, which is easily one of the worst pieces of sci-fi TV ever broadcast-knocked some sense into me and dissuaded me from pre-ordering. This pantomime season has no rewatchability factor, and I strongly advise others who haven’t viewed it in years to try the Britbox thing first before committing themselves. We all love Who, but I think many of us have limits, and paying £45 for VAM and a nice booklet is just madness.

RPG74. Many of us buy the sets not just for the episodes but the new features.

Dragonfire is still a ‘classic’ too.

    • RPG74

      January 27th, 2021 - 11:52pm

    • Gordon

      January 28th, 2021 - 10:17am

Some of my most watched who DVDs are only watched quite often because of the vam that accompanies it. I’ve often chosen to watch the likes of sensorites, gunfighters, Krotons, invasion of time, time flight, warriors of the deep, timelash and time and the rani more often than the likes of dalek, dalek invasion of Earth, moonbase, the invasion, horror of fang rock, caves of androzani, vengeance on varos and remembrance of the daleks due to me wanting to rewatch the extras again. Good extras can be the difference from watching something once and putting it on numerous times. Season 24 has got a ridiculous amount of bonus content. Well over 30 hours worth. Maybe as much as 40. £45 for all that bonus content alone is a steal.

    • RPG74

      January 28th, 2021 - 4:51pm

I’m of a different mind-set I’m afraid. VAM exists as an addition to something, it’s not supposed to serve as the sole justification for purchasing.
I’ve heard of people regretting their blind-purchase of The Last Jedi on disc because they wound up hating the movie, but I’ve never heard of any of them saying “But the two-and-a-half-hour documentary makes it all worthwhile.”
I’m not raining on anyone’s parade here, I’m merely saying that this time, I’m happy to save the money and spend it later on something that I know I’m guaranteed to, at the very least, mostly like.

    • Auton

      January 28th, 2021 - 5:16pm

RPG74. I totally disagree with you. Of course the stories are the main thing but the special features are just as important and are the main reason we as doctor who fans keep purchasing all these releases. Yes season 24 isn’t the best season but that’s because people are comparing it to the other seasons of classic who which will always beat it. Season 24 isn’t suppose to be taken seriously which is why it’s so hated. The doctor who dvd/blu-ray range is unique as no other series has this much love and care taken to make all the documentaries, interviews and behind the scenes stuff that we have been given over the whole dvd/blu-ray range. I’m not the biggest fan of season 24 but the special features for this release which are new and the existing ones from the DVDs are what makes me so excited for this release. You can disagree with me RPG74 which is fine and hopefully the next release will be a season you prefer

Never lease these box sets to chance and “cross your fingers” – the main selling point of this set is that it’s jam-packed with never-before seen extras which is well worth your money without even getting onto the blu-ray format of DW and the repackaging. All I say is pre-order it and put it in a cupboard or something and save it till May, that is if it’s not released around May.

I hope that one day these become available as simple blu ray ( without all the packaging etc..) like the US release. At a cheaper price and always available to buy.

The BBC have already stated that these sets will be the last physical media releases that they will produce for vintage Doctor Who.
All future releases after this, will be in the form of online streaming or pay-per-veiw services.

      They probably will.
Or at least complete Doctor sets.

However, the collector’s booklet and bigger artwork and the fact the discs have individual artwork too make them more desirable. The USA releases although slimline are just plain dull in comparison.

I display mine without the J-card with the front cover facing me. Luckily I have room for that. Once done the 27 classic releases will be like one huge piece of Doctor Artwork.

Hopefully, it will be complete by 2028.

I’m certain they will get another non limited release when the range ends but that’s a good 5-6 years off. Far too soon to announce now. I can’t see them spending a lot of money on all these extras just to be available for a limited time. There is money still left there. It makes no sense to announce non limited edition sets when the limited edition sets are doing phenomenally well. I do think it will probably be doctor sets rather than seperate sets as 27 sets released roughly at the same time would kill the market for them. Maybe 1 doctor set each month perhaps so to space them out

The problem is that most of them are not available anymore. And at 50€ the box set i don’t really want to spend 1300€ to watch doctor who in blu-ray. Would be nice to just make them plain blu-ray always available. Even if its year after a box set was release.

You could always wait a few months and buy the US version. I recently purchased season 19, or Peter Davison Season One, for £35 including import fees and P+P. Both Season 23/Colin Baker S2 and Season 26/McCoy S3 are available for the same price. The discs play fine in UK blu ray players.

Anonymous I think you are right. These are the last physical releases but that does not mean they won’t be repackaged in different forms and re-released, such as in standard packaging, individual Doctor sets etc.

I’d certainly like a re-release of some of this boxsets, like Season 19, which is the only one I’ve so far failed to get.

I love that we get these shorts with each new Collection release! For me they are as good as canon…and it makes me long even more for that Wilderness set because I’d love one of these with McGann. Any chance for more on screen Eighth Doctor!

Can’t wait for the US versions to be up on pre-order.

Sorry about the repeated message…thought it didn’t send the first time.

I love that with each release we also get a fun little short to accompany it. And things like this and the Ace one are as good as canon to me! It also makes me long even more for the probable Wilderness Years set…because I think we deserve a short like this one starring McGann!

Also I look forward to both this and Season 8 getting their US preorders up. I wonder what the delay on these will be

Just spoke to zoom again. They spoke to a manager who said they want to stock season 24. They said its taken them by surprise at head office and they are currently working out how much stock they can get hold of. They said I should check again next week. Sounds more promising.

How did you manage to speak to someone? They haven’t replied to any tweets or emails I’ve sent and I can’t seem to find the telephone number on the site anymore!

You should set up an AdressPal account from An Post for future UK and possible US orders for now on. It will first be delivered to one of An Posts UK hubs and they will send it to you, charges vary based on weight.
