BBC Studios announce release of Season 14 in the Doctor Who: The Collection Blu-Ray range.
Doctor Who fans will be delighted to hear that BBC Studios is releasing Season 14 on Blu-Ray. Tom Baker’s third series as the Doctor will debut on Monday 20th April.

Either produce more, they know theres the audience. Look how that worked with the b&m sets, they released loads and now the scalpers are losing money just to get rid of the ones they thought they could easily sell.
If only there was a way to prove your fandom before you buy, so they can block those who are just ebay scaplers

May 4th, 2020 - 5:25pmSo Season 14 Boxset appeared on Argos…..I get it into the basket and find sadly that Argos in my area don’t deliver or click & collect. So I look at it this way, I’m alive and safe and I have all the DVDS. I’m not desperate enough to pay greedy ebay people more than £50. So to all those who got a copy…..I’m jealous but I hope you enjoy.
Maybe 2 entertainment will realise the error they made and re – release later in the year, fingers crossed.

May 4th, 2020 - 6:35pmI got mine luckily from Argos earlier this morning. There is a shop nearby where I live, that sells the season boxsets, they sell them for around 60 pounds. The Television and Movie store in Norwich.

May 4th, 2020 - 4:27pmDoes anyone know of Zoom responding to emails? I sent them an email a week ago today as my bank blocked the payment from my account on 27/04 as they were being being overly cautious with fraud alerts. Zoom emailed the same day to say they would hold the item for 72 hours and if the payment is made the order can be processed. As I ordered as Guest I had to email them to request they take the payment but no reply to date. Nothing has been taken from the bank or any email received saying the order has been cancelled or processed. I messaged them again through the website on Thursday which was the 3rd day but again no reply. I very much doubt I’ll get this now because of this issue but has anyone had a similar experience?

I ordered my copy on 14/1/20 and then I needed to update the card stored as it expired in Feb.
I got an e mail at the beginning of March asking me to update the details which I did.
Last week I got an email saying that payment could not go through ? (same card used for the new Power Of The Daleks and it went through)
I couldn’t update another card a Power was a live order.
My Credit Card is fine with no outstanding balance. I have emailed them with an automated reply saying allow 48 hours.
Meanwhile my order is cancelled and I’ll have no chance of getting this now without paying a fortune on E Bay.
It’s time the BBC sorted this problem by pressing enough copies.
We should all have a chance to buy one. What if it got lost or damaged in the post or a disc got broken, we can’t easily get another.
As for Limited Edition what does that even mean, they aren’t even numbered.
What they mean is they just want to shift as many as they can straight away.
All this leads to is panic buying and many people buying spares to sell on E Bay for a fortune.
I don’t want limited editions I want stock available for everyone to buy.

I contacted my bank who confirmed that no attempt to draw payment had been made. I took this to zoom who avoided and evaded the fact that they lied and in fact never even tried to take payment. Awful company to deal with.

They can`t have all have been shifted to be sold online, stores will still need products to fill their shelves when lockdown restrictions are relaxed. I had previously pre-ordered all the other Blu-ray sets but this was gone even before I could. As others have stated, I`m not looking to make money by buying extra copies, I just want to own the damn thing.

May 5th, 2020 - 7:23pmI have ordered mine from amazon and it was due to be delivered today but i got an email saying they were trying to obtain the item. And once they had them in stock they would ship out ASAP. I got in contact with an amazon worker and they basically said there was an issue with the lot of item and they had alerted the problem to the right members of staff to get item stocked asap. So I believe its down to the suppliers. Its only right the ones who pre ordered still get a copy. I’d be devastated if I missed out on this boxset as I have everyone up to now. My item says its ‘preparing for dispatch tch’ so fingers crossed this is a positive sign. If argos managed to get them in on release day then amazon should be be to get the right amount of copies back to those who ordered.

I know it’s difficult not to get concerned because Zoom are usually so reliable but fingers crossed we’ll get there!
On a side note I looked at Ebay and already there are so many of these sets on there at exorbitant prices. It’s not a great situation when folk can be taken advantage of in this way. I wonder what is the actual run of these sets?

While there are obviously other things to worry about at present these sets and all the other merchandise provide very welcome distractions. Just wish collecting these sets wasn’t quite as stressful! Only nineteen seasons to go!

May 4th, 2020 - 2:01pmAs much as it’s not something decent people would want to do, it might be worth making two pre-orders for future box-sets (Especially Tom Baker/70s ones) just to guarantee that you get one. It’s not ideal, but sadly with so many scalpers around, it’s a safe bet. If you don’t want to take away from someone else’s chance at owning a box-set and you do pre-order two, you can just send one back or list it on eBay for cost price.

Kicking myself for not ordering more when I had the chance but very happy to have a copy, this is the first uk one I got! Sometimes the USA releases pop up on eBay for not too much, got season 12 for £28 and season 18 for £32. The BBC business model sucks, it’s a licence to print money for the scalpers!

May 4th, 2020 - 1:51pmThe BBC Business Model is just that Bussiness model. Supply x number of units. sell out no stock hanging around. simple, makes a little money. The retailers, desperate (even more so now) for your custom, sometimes use these as a way into the site, or simply to underscut amazon by getting orders up sooner, or all of the above. They take too many orders, so some lose out. NOT THE BBCs fault. And yes there are those who are dipping into the ones they want, which makes , Producing these things A Nightmare, as more seem to want this, so more orders taken over allocation.
As a side not, BooBoo might be able to answer this better than I. But with the season 12 re-issue, was there not a Batch 1 and Batch 2, where some were OK, then Batch 3 to rectify the fault of Batch 1. Which Amazon seem to have sold on NOT replaced(see Retailer issue not BBC)
So manybe, with the ongoing situation, sickness, and staff working as best they can on reduced service, there will be Batch 2 which will come on stream soon.

May 4th, 2020 - 12:34pmHurrah mine has just arrived from Zoom so pleased was getting worried ,So for anyone else from Zoom who hasn’t yet received there’s I’m confident you will as all my post has to go through Gatwick which is extremely busy at this difficult time for everyone making me appreciate how much we all rely on the system especially at the moment as it’s the only way to get these items with all the shops closed.
Normally you’d be able today to go to your local hmv store and pick one up could be one reason why this release has become so much more harder to get than previous issues and the bbc may even have produced less because of shop closures ?

It was delivered by my regular Royal Mail postman who delivers on foot with a trolley which is why it never came Saturday as Letter post is currently suspended and because I live in town I don’t have van delivery’s unless it’s a big Parcel where as reading other comments others did but who probably live in rural areas where all there post is delivered by van.
As of interest I see Zoom still use Sony to package and dispatch there orders but as c/o and is now actually DHL and no longer come with a traceable barcode only a plain white address label with a Royal Mail 24hr sticker which might lead to it taking a little longer plus with the current situation.

If this were the only place to view the classics it’d be dire, but there’s plenty of alternatives.

May 4th, 2020 - 11:41amDon’t give up hope folks – I checked Argos this morning at 8am and all the copies in every town near me were out of stock. Checked again at 9 and 10:30… nothing. Checked again at half 11 and multiple stores in one of the towns has some copies, so managed to order one… Either a glitch and I’ll get refunded soon (boo) or some stores still waiting on stock deliveries before they show up on the website….

Feel a bit stupid for not preordering it earlier – but then, I enjoy the experience of going out and buying them in shops (which is what I’ve done with the last three sets). Of course, I could never have foreseen that this wouldn’t be possible this time… Just hope more become available somewhere down the line.

Guess I’ll just have to delay paying my electricity bill this month ! From now in I pre order the day it becomes available ! Lesson learned !

I hope they recognise that lots of people have missed out and make more sets available. There seemed to be enough to go round of earlier sets (excluding season 12 obviously). Missing out on this one might mean I’m not that bothered about completing the collection any more. I’ll just get the seasons I really like. Previously I was planning to get every release.

May 4th, 2020 - 11:51amI can,t see how you can,t get one at some point no matter where. Its disheartening and frustrating because people want their copies now. Its knowing people who already have theirs and are already enjoying them that adds to the frustration as well. A lot who preordered from day one still haven,t got their copies yet (myself included and nothing in post today) Some get them sooner, some get get them later. Don,t give up. The best thing is to avoid reading comments on here if its getting to you that much, just keep trying and get back when you have your copy, and review when most people have theirs.

May 5th, 2020 - 11:12amIf they keep doing re-releases they won’t be limited collectors items. They only did season 12 because they didn’t do enough first time round. They are now all the same qty for each season.
