BBC Studios announce release of Season 14 in the Doctor Who: The Collection Blu-Ray range.
Doctor Who fans will be delighted to hear that BBC Studios is releasing Season 14 on Blu-Ray. Tom Baker’s third series as the Doctor will debut on Monday 20th April.

Now I’m just hoping it makes it across the Atlantic safely with everything going on. Had an issue with a season 26 boxset I ordered for a friend and the j card somehow had water damage on it, so hoping season 14 arrives in great shape like they usually do.

I ordered mine off Amazon on announcement day and this morning, they said that my order is “progressing as expected and will be delivered” on its estimated delivery date (Tues 5th May). Has anyone else had their orders cancelled form Amazon or is it just the odd few?

May 2nd, 2020 - 5:56pmWell after HMV shafted me over the series 12 reissue I followed my gut and went with Zoom. It arrived today. I ordered it after Amazon and Zavvi had sold out. Frankly amazed but happy I have it. Two friends have both had thier orders from HMV cancelled and they are fuming. Whilst I would prefer to support high street shops it isn’t happening again. Roll on the next release.

May 2nd, 2020 - 4:34pmMaybe BBC reduced the stock allocation to Amazon after the farce related to season 12 2nd Edition replacement?
Many will know that BBC sent replacement stock to Amazon to make good those who got the wrong artwork on earlier sets. But, instead of replacing existing customer sets, Amazon sold on the additional stock. There was a message in the Season 12 thread that the BBC was upset about the retailers behaviour.
Let’s hope not, but it wouldn’t be the first time Amazon had got into a dispute with it’s suppliers.
Hopefully there is someway to make good on customers with pre-orders by BBC reallocating stock.

May 2nd, 2020 - 4:46pmif that’s the case the BBC should take some responsibility if people loose out as Amazon are the 1st retailer named in the official press release and the official TV site as to where to purchase from ( and just so again with Power of the Daleks) Its not good to tell people “buy it from here” then deny them the stock.

Fuming isn’t the word. Be warned if you’ve ordered it from amazon.

May 2nd, 2020 - 11:10pmIn Cheshire we have had a no saturday delivery for a couple of week, except for packages , not letters or parcels(not sure the difference is) but they announced on wednesday no deliveries on Saturday. Due to staff off, social distancing measures, and staff needing abreak doing tripple shifts. .
Its in the post from ZOOM but its the Covid 19 to blame, not the Posties or Zoom, in this case.

Received mine this morning from Zoom. As usual the set is a thing of beauty.
I have sent an email to booboo with pictures so he can update page if needed (…shh Spoilers).
Also included photo of my current display and how I trim down the old dvd booklets to fit inside set boxes as I mention it on here from time to time incase anyone wants to do the same.
Won’t be watching set til next week as have a few more episodes of SJA to watch first.

May 2nd, 2020 - 11:54amI have a small conundrum in relation to my Zoom order. They went to collect the payment from my bank on 27/04/2020. There was more than enough in the account but the bank blocked the transaction. They deemed it as “suspicious” even though I have used Zoom before. Anyway they told me to contact the retailer to collect the payment again. I emailed them on the same day (as I ordered as a guest) and asked them to collect the payment again to dispatch the order. They have not yet responded and no payment has been taken out. The email from them states that they will automatically cancel the order within 72 hours and as they have not taken this payment within this time I am now worried that they would have cancelled the order which of course is now out of stock everywhere. Has anyone had any similar experiences and could Zoom perhaps honour the order if they haven’t yet responded to the email. I also messaged through there website on Thursday before the 72 hours were up. Any advice would be greatly appreciated 🙂

May 2nd, 2020 - 3:59pmI have had this exact problem. I preoredered this set and the faceless ones together. The faceless ones came with no issues and then a few days ago zoom denied my payment for some reason. I tried resubmitting it and using different cards but to no avail. I emailed zoom twice over the three days and I still have heard absolutely nothing from them. Atrocious customer service. Then yesterday I tried one more card and it went through. It now says sent to warehouse and they have taken the money so I am cautiously optimistic.

May 2nd, 2020 - 4:43pm@TheRealEnemyOfTheWorld They may be some hope then.. I have an Argos/Sainsbury’s near me so I may have to try there if Zoom don’t respond on Monday/Tuesday next week. Just out of interest did you manage to get the card payment through within the 72hrs or after as their email states they will cancel the order automatically after this time… and I pressume if so they simply won’t send it as the product is technically “out of stock” on the website… Such a shame as its not really there fault as the bank blocked the transaction but I agree that they should reply to emails a lot quicker seeing as they don’t advertise a phone number and only give you so long to resolve it there is no easy way if you don’t have an account registered with them…

May 3rd, 2020 - 12:19amSounds similar to what happened to the season 12 boxset that I ordered from amazon. A glitch in their payment system meant I couldn’t change to an alternative payment method. I had the message “a problem occurred. Try again later” I was receiving emails every day telling me my order would cancelled after x amount of days and to update the payment method, which I couldn’t do because the issue wasn’t at my end.
I was eventually able to get through to a person instead of a machine.
They were scratching their heads on their end because their tech teams couldn’t figure out how to fix it. I received two emails after that to say they were still trying to fix it and they would get back to me. Never heard a thing after that and my order got cancelled. To add insult to injury a small amount of stock appeared on the day my order got cancelled and I missed out on getting hold of a copy.

I think BBC do need to look at their release model on these sets though. To release relatively few, which is enabling the scalpers to make lots of money on your organisation’s hard work isn’t a great business model IMHO. It’d be better to release more at a reasonable price – that way the organisation gets the profit and the fanbase is happy.

However, this morning the status has ticked over into “Preparing for despatch” and the charge is now pending on my bank account – that also was not there yesterday.
Delivery still says 11th – 13th May though but i have that all the time with Amazon orders and they turn up a week early

May 2nd, 2020 - 8:37amIt is sold out they are limited edition and sell out now in the pre-order phase they are that popular, the only way to get one new would be to pay higher on ebay, elsewise try checking CEX in near future if you do not mind one second hand or sometimes HMV have been known to rarely get there hands on some sets that were sold out.

I’m worried they will cancel my order come Monday. Being in the U.S this is the only way I choose to get the sets. Used to use Zavvi but my season 10 came totally destroyed last summer so I was through with them.

I bought this from louise Jamesons site and wondered if anyone can tell how the delivery useally works. I can imagine it will take alittle longer to be delivered from release dates but apart from confirmation order havent had any email about dispatching it. May 1st, 2020 - 9:14pmI have been told my order will be here on Tuesday from Amazon. However if my experience with the previous box set is anything to go by then I’m not confident. Both the Sylvester McCoy box set and the Troughton Faceless Ones were pre ordered on the day of announcement but I got an email on the day they were due telling me they were out of stock! This usually means that they have under priced it and or can’t get enough copies in despite pre order numbers.
I had to source these from other outlets but searching around today no one else seems to have any available.
I saw one for sale already on ebay for a ridiculous £1000 ….and last time Amazon were selling them from independent sellers at a higher price.
Bring back the BBC shop I say.

before the release date on Amazon and Zoom and every other main site I don’t know why the BBC only creates so damn few copies
I was Lucky to find this site with a copy for under £50 but it hasn’t been dispatched yet so Im worried as it was supposed to be for my birthday on the 4th!
