May 28th, 2021 - 10:38amLove that they are doing these normal sets, I hate exclusives anything with “limited edition” or a number printed on it is just a way to make money out of people.
Also I want a set that If I drop it in the washing up bowl with last nights plates (Don’t ask) and ruin it I can go out and buy another from HMV and replace it like I can with most Doctor Who DVD’s (Need to keep them away from the kitchen).

May 28th, 2021 - 4:41pmThere is a story there that I really want to hear.

May 27th, 2021 - 11:40pmDoes anyone know if and when these standard editions will be made available in Australia and New Zealand?

May 28th, 2021 - 7:02amNo, they are for the UK only, but you can purchase them from Zavvi Australia. You can also still order S12 and 19! https://www.zavvi.com.au

May 27th, 2021 - 5:38pmEver get the feeling you’ve been swindled – again 🙁 ?

May 27th, 2021 - 5:41pmNo, why, who has swindled you.

May 27th, 2021 - 6:18pmThink the standard editions shouldn’t have the extra disc included. Makes a mockery of all the people who possibly spent a fortune on the Limited Edition Boxsets. Remember at the time they were going to be the last physical release and how we all went mad trying to get hold of them? And now they’ve been rerelased in better (OK fair enough, not as elegant) packaging. There should have been more to differentiate them and make the Limited Editions more special than a couple of extra pages in a Booklet. Just my Personal opinion / whinge, sorry if I’ve caused any offence 🙂 !

May 27th, 2021 - 6:19pmHow so? You aren’t forced to buy it.

May 27th, 2021 - 7:39pmWhilst the lower booklet count is a downside but understandable, the idea that BBC Studios should remove the bonus disc of seasons is stupid. They didn’t do that for the US release which are more standard from the get go, why should that change because the origin country is rereleasing them

May 27th, 2021 - 7:48pmWas it known that there would be a standard box set release at the time when limited editions started to be released?

May 27th, 2021 - 8:29pmMy question is, will future seasons over the next few years still be released in the collectors packaging, or is it all this standard packaging now?

May 27th, 2021 - 8:51pmI agree with you, these were sold as limited editions, all that’s now limited is a few pages and some cardboard.
It’s like a music artist releasing a limited edition box set of their music in a deluxe box which sells out very quickly then 6 months later releasing the same “limited edition” content in plastic cd cases, I don’t thing fans would be happy with the artist.
I appreciate no one is forcing people to buy the deluxe who sets, but it would have been interesting to see how quick these deluxe would have sold out if at the time they revealed a standard packed set was also coming.
As I have bought all the deluxe sets I’m not going to change half way through and have a miss match and I’m sure they knew this would be the case for a lot of collectors.

May 27th, 2021 - 9:34pmIt was advertised as limited edition packaging. The content was never advertised as limited. Just look up season 10 and 18 on Amazon and the limited edition versions were advertised as limited edition packaging This being released in standard packaging doesn’t void that.
The doctor who collector: going by those involved it was only decided recently
Jadooning: the plan going forward is to carry on the limited edition packaging followed by a standard packaging release at a later date

May 27th, 2021 - 9:42pmThe team have said Limited Editions will still be released for future seasons and these are the standard retail versions without the in depth season booklet or fancy boxes. It’s to make it easier for fans to buy without getting paying for the ones that sellers on ebay have purchased like 50 copies of

May 28th, 2021 - 8:14amYes we’ve all been swindled because you have posted this exact same question in the season 18 replies too
Of course we haven’t been swindled and I personally buy both so that I can leave my nice limited ones on the shelf untouched, after I love watched them a first time. Limited editions sell out very fast, even season 24 has sold out. This way everyone gets to see them, it makes more money to put back into the range and it’s much more space saving efficient way to collect them for most people. There are choices in life and you have freedom of choice here.

May 28th, 2021 - 8:38amToo much detail man, I don’t think these are designed to be “love watched”…

June 16th, 2021 - 10:17pmInteresting to see that with a week to go the “limited edition” set still hasn’t sold out, unlike all the previous “limited edition” sets.
Still makes me wonder what would have happened if they had said from the outset standard editions will also be available.

May 27th, 2021 - 4:17pmThe big question for me is how long until they catch up to season 24 and will they run concurrent to the limited edition sets or will there be that delay to keep them separate and more exclusive? Thats four sets in a space of a few months apart released.

May 27th, 2021 - 7:04pmSeason 23 and 26 should be the next releases on standard Blu-Ray which I’m guessing will come out around early August, then 14 and 8 which should be September and by then I’m guessing we should have had at least one new box set announcement. So it is possible they could catch up

May 27th, 2021 - 7:10pmI imagine if we wait another month or two, we’ll get a S23 and S26 rerelease announcement, then another month or so and it’d be S14 and S8.

May 27th, 2021 - 2:39pmWill these standard edition boxsets include all the episodes of Behind the Sofa?

May 27th, 2021 - 2:56pmThey say all disk content is the same so should be

May 27th, 2021 - 1:54pmI need to know this before I go bankrupt! Are these re-releases permanent editions. So for example, if I wanted the Season 10 boxset in November or for Christmas or whatever, I could go to Amazon or Zavvi and find it available for it’s original price and not 2nd hand? Because I don’t think I can fork out almost £80 in one fell swoop!

May 27th, 2021 - 2:12pmYes these standard packaging releases will be like the doctor who dvds and available forever

May 27th, 2021 - 12:50pmWhat about Season 18? That came out before Season 10, but they seem to have skipped doing a standard version
