The 14th Doctor’s Sonic Screwdriver Chrome Edition

Please be aware that counterfeit Sonic Screwdrivers are being sold on online market places.

The Fourteenth Doctor’s essential accessory is available now as an online exclusive!

Character Options is delighted to announce a brand-new exclusive for its iconic Doctor Who Collection, as the Fourteenth Doctor’s Sonic Screwdriver.

Heading into the 60th Year of Doctor Who it seemed entirely fitting that the Fourteenth Doctors Sonic Screwdriver was given an exciting exclusive unveiling to fans on the Doctor Who Booth at the San Deigo Show!

The limited-edition version boasts an exclusive ‘electro plated’ finish making it look like real polished steel and brass. It also boasts two modes of operation, Open and Closed, as well as five brand new and totally unique sound and light effects, with each accessed by a different button sequence. The Sonic comes in Regeneration style packaging with a sturdy mailer box.

Ensuring all fans have the chance to own this special piece, Character Options is delighted to confirm the latest Online Exclusive and for this Anniversary year, is this very same Special Edition of the Fourteenth Doctor’s new sonic device and is available for sale and immediate delivery now.

Al Dewar, Head of Product Development, commented: “Since the announcement of David Tennant’s return as the Fourteenth Doctor, I think it’s safe to say fans have been a wee bit keen to know much more about this as yet unseen iteration of the Sonic. Its look and function have been (rightly) entirely shrouded in mystery, and now with this Doctor’s essential accessory is officially unveiled, it’s a pure delight for us to confirm that in partnership with the BBC and Wolf Studios, we have been able to produce a really different and special version of this absolutely beautiful sonic.

“Having it ready for the start of the new series, I think is a genuine first in our history with the Doctor Who Brand and once again it’s with huge thanks to all involved that we’ve been able to achieve this.”

Accidentally added two into my basket and I clicked on it to remove one and now in yet another queue to do so. Ridiculous

Got through after about 2.5 hours. Hit a 502 error but a few refreshes got me through the process. Order confirmed!

So the payments gone through and the screen kicked me back to the checkout and then back to the queue. I want to assume the payment means it’s worked, but no confirmation email from the site as I guess it’s backed up a bit. Should I be worried?

It’s very unprofessional. After queing for 90 minutes I finally got in and put one in my basket only for everything to freeze again. Now its put me back in the queue for another hour- even though I didn’t refresh the page or come out of the shopping process.

No idea if my order actually went through. £29.99 is listed on pending transaction but on the website it didn’t look as if the order was confirmed.

I now have 3 pending payments from Paypal as I’ve been reclicking the confirm button consistently, but no order confirmation. Have I just charged myself 3 times for nothing?

been queueing since 8. finally got to the site at about 10:35. keep trying to purchase it but keep getting stuck at the shipping information confirmation page which doesn’t let me go through to payment, then just get booted to an hour+ long queue. this has taken it out of me.

What’s the best technique, go back to basket after every attempt or just keep clicking check out ever few mins?

Go back to payment method, re-enter your payment details every 10 mins as PayPal cancels the order ID after 10mins. Other than that, keep hitting confirm. It worked for me in the end, by some miracle I got a new error “Error, your basket is empty” and at last – I had completed the order I’d tried to click about 75 times.

Well it took a while, but at 10:35 my order finally got through the confirmation. I was on the site early, so I skipped the queue. But my god did it go crazy…

Good luck all – This is not the site, nor the way – to make sure that everyone has a chance to get one.

(P.S – ‘RATE_LIMIT_REACHED’ is there for us all, just keep retrying your payment and trying to confirm the order, it will go through in time. it’s just caused by a tonne of requests going through at once)

I’ve got my order in eventually for 3 and a half hours of waiting.

Looking forward to seeing the sonic Screwdriver with the special light effects.

And it has a Green Setting ,Yellow setting and Red Settings to match up previous doctors.

I think the rate limiting is for the website, not the customer.

      What does that mean?

I’m currently unable to pay, do I just need to wait a bit?

    • Doc

      November 20th, 2023 - 10:48am

Keep trying AB – The rate limit blocks all requests to put an order in because there’s so many going through at the same time. So keep pressing confirm, check the red text because after 10 min or so the Paypal Order id will time out, so keep pressing confirm and every 10 mins or so re-enter your payment method.

Good luck – This is not an easy thing, took me about 50 tries. This is not the way to do this, the site just isn’t up to this level of traffic.

I just looked out of interest how bad site traffic times are today “your wait time is more than 4 hours” my prayers are with those fans still needing it.

Absolutely ridiculous. I made it through the queue, there was stock but payment kept failing due to the website and now I can’t try to pay again because I’ve now made too many requests.

After waiting for 20 mins I got down to 2hrs 45 mins from 3hrs 12 mins and now it’s whacked me up to more than 4 hrs despite the browser being left open.

So much for being in a queue……doubt anything will be left by then

The queue keeps going up for me, it jumped from 2 hours to 4 hours, now says it’s over 4 hours – that’s not how a queue is supposed to work! The whole thing is ridiculous, I guess I won’t be getting a sonic 🙁

I started waiting about 45 minutes ago. I finally got up to only 9 minutes left, but then it jumped back up to 13, 14, 15…17…

Clearly this is not a logically processed waiting line. A proper waiting line should either hold for a while or go down. What, are people jumping in front of me in “line”?

Ugh, 18 minutes now. I feel for you folks over an hour plus. 19 minutes now. Sheesh.

Yeah, the bots are definitely going to wipe the stock out before we can get on, it said 20 minutes waiting nearly half an hour ago, and it’s now back up to 47 minutes!!
