April 24th, 2015 - 6:59amNot too keen on some of the names, but I guess it’s the music that matters:
Aristotle, We Have Been Hit
We’re Still Going To Kill You
Tell Me, Am I A Good Man?
What Difference A Good Dalek?
The Truth About The Daleks
They just seem too long and descriptive, compared to Series 7, where the longest title was
Together or Not at All – The Song of Amy and Rory.

April 23rd, 2015 - 10:45pmNow that’s interesting, there’s a couple tracks that weren’t on the leaked playlists on Youtube which is understandable but there’s a few tracks that were but not on the official release such as the opening music to Kill the Moon and 1 track in Into the Dalek (Blue Rescue Squad or something)…

April 21st, 2015 - 7:44pmBooboo are the radio times posters in a book? Or do they come as individual posters?
Sam Richard Bentley
April 21st, 2015 - 7:55pmIt clearly says in a booklet. And, you can see said booklet in the image above.

April 21st, 2015 - 7:32pmBTW The BBC SHOP sold item does not included the “posters” but just includes the booklet. Off-set this against the free P+P that BBC SHOP offers.

April 21st, 2015 - 5:40pmThought I needed to say this but the full theme for series 8 is actually a cut down version where the main theme leads straight into the middle eight and sounds a bit clunky.
ahunter8056
April 21st, 2015 - 8:04pmWhile it’s true that the leaked online version is like that, I refuse to believe that it will be presented as such on the CD. My hope is that it’s been edited down so the leak isn’t actually full. On Amazon the Series 8 full theme is available for MP3 purchase, and the runtime is stated to be 2:30. I’m hoping that the full theme ends up being that.
I just refuse to believe that there is such an unprofessional, amateur edit on the real thing.
Sam Richard Bentley
April 22nd, 2015 - 7:41amThat isn’t official anyway. And is quite horrid. Although the soundtrack is now on YouTube, some think it could be an early edit of it. So maybe it won’t be that way.
But either way I really like the theme that has been released early.
MrHalloWho
April 24th, 2015 - 7:00amIt’s not that early! It’s 4 months since Christmas!

April 24th, 2015 - 8:24amWhat are you on about? I’m talking about the leaked album.

April 21st, 2015 - 5:05pmI pre-ordered mine last night
Alex The Geek
April 18th, 2015 - 7:13pmI might download a couple of tracks but this one probably isn’t worth buying the entire album for.
If Foxes was on this I’d probably get it as I love her music and loved her version of Don’t Stop Me Now, although I reckon she might put that on her new album as a bonus track.
I remember one track from Listen that sounded (to me) a bit like Once Upon A Dream, that’s a must get. Everything else was fairly missable.

April 18th, 2015 - 4:30pmIs there anyway to see if I am one of the 5000 to get the booklet as that’s the main reason I pre-ordered?
booboo
April 18th, 2015 - 4:41pmits says all pre ordered products from the store will get the booklet
If they run out i expect they will just change the page or stop taking orders

April 18th, 2015 - 2:24pmWish they picked a better cover, that picture is overused

April 18th, 2015 - 5:15pmIt’s hardly overused, it’s only ever been used on the Deep Breath DVD.

April 20th, 2015 - 4:28pmWell I’ve seen it on loads of merchandise, plus tbh its not that good of a picture.
booboo
April 20th, 2015 - 4:31pmIts the official series 8 image which is probably why its been used on this

April 18th, 2015 - 10:48amNice that Gold has allowed the theme on this one. How do we get him to allow Matt’s second theme on a CD?
There’s more than enough unreleased material for an odds and ends release
Anonymous
April 18th, 2015 - 11:18amGold wanted the Series 7 theme on the soundtrack, but sadly it’s not his decision.
time dude
April 18th, 2015 - 9:39amFinally Gold has put the new theme on it, Hurray

April 18th, 2015 - 9:51amThat’s a lot of money for a booklet with some poster designs in, right?

April 18th, 2015 - 8:22amApparently the rights couldn’t be secured to use it on the CD release.
🙁
Doyouhearthem?
April 18th, 2015 - 9:55amThat’s crazy! Foxes volunteered to be on the show, they can surely figure something out. It might still be on there though; I doubt Yamit Mamo’s name came up on the series 3 soundtrack, so they might just not be flashing the name about.
booboo
April 18th, 2015 - 10:16ammight be rights to the song for commercial use

April 17th, 2015 - 8:16pmAs a composer myself, I have Murray Gold as one of my top 10 composers of all time – possibly No. 3 behind Stravinsky and Scott Joplin.
I loved his earlier music from Series 1-4 as they were all different and inspiring. Series 5 and 6 were a little repetitive at times, but series 7 onwards has been a bit disappointing (apart from the brilliant long song). I didn’t even notice the music in series 8.
I hope Murray Gold does good things for series 9 and fingers crossed.
Trenzalore
April 17th, 2015 - 5:36pmHaven’t really enjoyed the music this year – nothing really stood out and it was all a little forgetful, the only episodes where music was used well was Mummy on the Orient Express and maybe Death In Heaven. My biggest thing is that it all sounds the same to me now – after 10 years of Murray Gold its become repetitive, I probably wouldn’t be able to tell you how it went if you said a songs name from series 8. I would love to see some different music next year and I’d say the best way is to have Murray collaborating with someone or letting someone else do a whole episode(s). But saying all that I’ve loved some of Murray’s work in the past, if we could just see a little more of that maybe…
Trenzalore
April 17th, 2015 - 5:38pmBut I’ve still been thinking of getting a series soundtrack for a while (don’t have any yet 😯 ) so I’ll maybe get series 5 or 1.
The Doctor and Handles
April 17th, 2015 - 6:58pmI’ve got the series 5 one, it’s great!
StetsonDoctor
April 17th, 2015 - 7:15pmSeries 5 is one of the best soundtrack IMO…
Taro
April 17th, 2015 - 7:39pmI’ve got a full collection, my favorite is series 7. There’s a ton of variety
The TARDIS
April 18th, 2015 - 7:25amI’d say the best soundtracks are for series three and seven. With series three’s soundtrack, almost every track is great. With series seven, they’re spread across two discs so I’d be prepared for some more “padding” tracks, especially on disc two. But with This is Gallifrey: Our Childhood, Our Home in series three and its gut-wrenching remix A Secret He Will Take to His Grave in series seven, you really couldn’t go wrong!
Trenzalore
April 18th, 2015 - 1:36pmI’ve bought series 5 and will get series 7 next. I forgot the wonderful music seen in Angels Take Manhattan and Name of the Doctor.

April 17th, 2015 - 3:40pmAbout time! Sounds like it’ll be worth the wait though, lots of bonus stuff there! I must have been one of the first to pre-order, cannot wait! 😀

April 17th, 2015 - 3:08pmJust preordered it! If I have pre ordered it now, does that mean I am one of the people who will get the extra 16 page booklet depicting the 13 retro posters designed by Stuart Manning for Radio Times?

The Doctor
April 17th, 2015 - 3:41pmAccording to the email I received “all pre-ordered copies will include the extra booklet”.

April 18th, 2015 - 7:57amBah! That probably means, as I have had no such annotation on my e-mail, that the 5000 have already been sold. Curses to the many hundreds who will have, in spite of their disregard for the music, bought this for the expensive posters.
The Twelfth Doctor
May 10th, 2015 - 4:00pmI knew I was going to buy this because I loved the music in Series 8, but the booklet did push me towards buying the actual CD as opposed to buying it on iTunes.
