The doctor
October 15th, 2014 - 4:18pmthe bbc special version is described as a slipcase, so am i right in thinking this artwork will be under the slipcase?
I adore it!
The Doctor Wolf
October 15th, 2014 - 4:17pmNow that is very nice!
Prefer it to the Special edition version!

October 15th, 2014 - 5:06pmThe special edition ? If you mean bcc shop exclusive it says artwork TBC

October 15th, 2014 - 4:13pmDoes anybody have an image of this without any text?
the astronaut of death
October 15th, 2014 - 3:45pmlove the new cover!
Doctor RevWho
October 15th, 2014 - 3:39pmThis looks great. Cant wait for this – it’s coming out the same week as my birthday!

October 15th, 2014 - 3:26pmI actually prefer this to the limited edition! Tempted to get both tbh

October 15th, 2014 - 3:20pmReally quite dissapointed in this, it looks nice but the cogs are far too animated, as for the “featured” characters around the Doctor, it urks me that the Missy image is a screengrab and the Dalek and Cyberman are promotional photos for “Asylum of the Daleks” and “Nightmare in Silver” rather than being specific to this series. I like the inclusion of Danny though and Capaldi looks lovely as usual. I’ll be getting the limited edition anyway, so this doesn’t bother me

October 15th, 2014 - 3:15pmAt least it doesn’t look as tacky as the UK Limited Edition.

October 15th, 2014 - 2:45pmCould of added a bit more too it but I love it anyway 🙂
When The Doctor Was Me
October 15th, 2014 - 2:29pmThis is ok! But i think the cogs look to animated! I know they are but i want it to look more real! And it needs to be darker! Just shows me that the dark tone we were promised has not even been brought to the merchanside, let alone the episodes.
When The Doctor Was Me
October 15th, 2014 - 2:40pmWe can probably also assume this will be the uk cover to, as the artwork the Aus and the UK has been the same from series 6 and 7!

October 15th, 2014 - 2:24pmI wonder how long before Capaldis story’s start to find their way to the ‘dvd files’ collection..I think their boxes are just a little more in keeping with the style of the BBC’s classic releases…never bothered with Eccleston’s ,Smith or Tennant…but Capaldi’s is the first ‘new who’ Doctor who has interested me enough to want his DVDs… but Id prefer the stories individually boxed….
Professor When
October 15th, 2014 - 5:18pmWouldn’t it be wonderful if the new series episodes were also released in the style of classic DVDs? Maybe the under side of the covers could be a classic cover or something. 😀

October 21st, 2014 - 11:20amI always assumed that the volume editions from Series 1-7 were supposed to be a way to continue on the “classic” DVDs, but it seems that the 2014 redesigns of the box sets are now meant to be in favour of those.

October 15th, 2014 - 2:01pmI’ll be honest, I don’t like it. I like the gold colour and the idea of cogs with character’s faces inside them, but Clara’s pose just looks wrong in my opinion. I think if a different pose was used, probably with Clara facing forward, it would look great.
Trenzalore
October 15th, 2014 - 1:45pmWow! I love it. Personally I would have liked it they were a little more faded rather than completely solid and also a bit darker but the rest makes up for it.
Wonder if they’ll use any other materials other than card.
Just hope it is a good size as it feels like the box sets are getting smaller (if you have all the box sets lined up like me its really annoying)
Trenzalore
October 15th, 2014 - 1:45pmBy they I mean the cogs 😳
BLAZER CELERY
October 15th, 2014 - 1:15pmSo there’s not gonna be any individual volumes? Or will the set contain the volumes like Series 6/7 did? Because I prefer the volumes and if they stop releasing them it’s gonna be a bitch for my kinda collectors
SomeFunnyDrWhoReference
October 15th, 2014 - 2:30pmI don’t see there will be individual volumes. Due to this being the first full season to start in the Autumn, the BBC is maximising on the Xmas market in November when the previous box sets have all generally been released

October 15th, 2014 - 1:08pmI approve!
the other other dr
October 15th, 2014 - 12:55pmI like it, looks like the Dr is saying “Shut up.”
RORY DOCTOR RIVER POND
October 15th, 2014 - 12:49pmI think the Missy cog should be pushed to the outside like a border, then they could fit more cogs and monsters in…
thats just me being picky, but its very nice
Doctorfan
October 15th, 2014 - 12:53pmno i agree
DoctorManDan
October 15th, 2014 - 12:35pmGood cover, but what about the back
Doyouhearthem
October 15th, 2014 - 10:22amI wish I didn’t prefer this cover to the collector’s edition artwork…
Isn’t that the photo of Capaldi from the observer interview?
MadManWithABox
October 15th, 2014 - 10:14amWell, I quite like it. I like that it shares a similar motif with the covers for the 50th Anniversary Collector’s Edition.
TheExtremeBlueTARDIS
October 15th, 2014 - 10:10amNow THIS is a great cover for the Series 8 DVD! It’s just great, love the golden clockwork and the extra images with Danny and Missy! 😀
Ieuan Jones
October 15th, 2014 - 9:56amWhat episode did clara wear that dress?
NCC1701D
October 15th, 2014 - 11:43amI think it was Into the Dalek but I could be wrong.
DOCTOR WHO ONE
October 15th, 2014 - 3:23pmIt was ‘Into the Dalek’ but is not a dress. It’s a kinda shirt and trousers she was wearing.
DOCTOR WHO ONE
October 15th, 2014 - 8:34amReally nice, very GOLDEN !! 😀
The Doctor and Handles
October 15th, 2014 - 8:28amYES!!! Thus is brilliant!
Renegade86
October 15th, 2014 - 8:27amThis cover looks a bit like a Primeval DVD lol! I’m not a massive fans of the cog motif it must be said. It reminds me of the terrible new theme tune :-p
Sam Richard Bentley
October 15th, 2014 - 8:27amYes – now this is what I call a DVD cover. It has meaning, references to the actual series, a DIFFERENT Capaldi image for once, and… clock works! Very happy this has been updated from that rather terrible TBC one.
DocEke
October 15th, 2014 - 8:03amBest one yet, even if it has no teller, skovox, Sherwood robots, the half faced man, spiders or a mummy. Just Daleks and cybermen
Sam Richard Bentley
October 15th, 2014 - 9:30amThey aren’t going to put every villain on the cover. It would be cramped. They pick the two most iconic or the main villains on the series. The ones that people recognise and so pick the DVDs up for. When was the last DVD cover that had a ‘monster if the week’ on the cover?
Answer – there hasn’t been one.
The TARDIS
October 15th, 2014 - 7:59amI can’t quite work out whether I think that’s gorgeous or hideously ugly… I think I’m erring towards the former, but one thing’s for certain: that font used for “the complete eighth series” is totally wrong for Doctor Who. It’s too plain!
RORY DOCTOR RIVER POND
October 15th, 2014 - 7:53amquite like it
