Join ERIC SAWARD signing DOCTOR WHO: RESURRECTION OF THE DALEKS at the Forbidden Planet London Megastore on Thursday 18th July from 6 – 7pm.

The universe is at war. Action takes courage.
The TARDIS is ensnared in a time corridor, catapulting it into derelict docklands on 20th century Earth. The Doctor and his companions, Tegan and Turlough, stumble on a warehouse harbouring fugitives from the future at the far end of the corridor – and are soon under attack from a Dalek assault force.
The Doctor’s oldest enemies have set in motion an intricate and sinister plot to resurrect their race from the ashes of an interstellar war. For the Daleks’ plans to succeed, they must set free their creator, Davros, from a galactic prison – and force the Doctor to help them achieve total control over time and space. But the embittered Davros has ideas of his own…
35 years after its first TV transmission, Doctor Who fan-favourite Resurrection of the Daleks is novelised at last, by the author of the original script, Eric Saward.

The Flying Shark
July 25th, 2019 - 2:59pmI’m struggling to get past chapter three- clunky dialogue, sparse descriptions, useless information, bad characterisation, condescending and pretentious style, uncomfortable sexualisation and an unhealthy obsession with The Visitation references are all making for an unhappy reading experience.

July 25th, 2019 - 8:46pmWait until the daleks appear. Their dialogue is dreadful. He describes them snarling and gushing! Lord knows what revelation will be like. I’ve got the Paul scoones tvs version of resurrection and whilst it’s not perfect and in fact is the weakest of the tvs target books it’s so much better than saward’s effort (and I say effort but I’m not sure how much effort he put into it.)

July 14th, 2019 - 7:39pmWell I was looking forward to reading resurrection… oh dear… it’s not really very good everyone. It’s very muddled, there are new scenes in the tardis where the doctor realises that the daleks are behind the time corridor, then a few pages later they are at the warehouse and the doctor is saying they need to find out who is operating the time corridor! Lots of typos as well. And then there’s the writing. Some is good, but it’s undermined by some awful attempts at humour. In a story that’s full of death the humour is highly misplaced. In terms of the style of the book think more mid-80’s target books than the recent 4th doctor novel adaptations shada, city and pirate.
Such a shame. In the hands of another writer this could have been so much better. Was going to buy the target paperback version next year but it’s just not good enough to pay for another version.

July 18th, 2019 - 1:00pmOh come on! It’s just my opinion there is no need to have a go. The fact is the book isn’t very good.

July 18th, 2019 - 1:05pmSorry boo boo I should just ignore that type of comment. If I’d enjoyed the book and put a glowing comment someone would have made a snide remark about as well. It was ok. That’s all. Others may love and if you can get a signed copy that would great. I’d have a signed copy if I could. Fact is I will still buy revelation. Doesn’t mean I can’t have an honest opinion.
