Peter Capaldi Figure Doctor Who Regenerates / 2014

DOCTOR WHO REGENERATES FOR 2014

Christmas Day 2013 ushered in a new era for Doctor Who as over 11 million viewers tuned in to see Matt Smith’s regeneration episode, welcoming Peter Capaldi into the esteemed role of the Doctor in the process.

Doctor Who fans around the world will now be eager to know what’s in store for Character Options’ popular 3.75-inch action figure collection. Since 2006, Character Options has been the global manufacturer of the official Doctor Who action figure range and with over 8 million action figures sold; the first official figure of a new Doctor is always hotly anticipated.

The exciting new collection for March 2014 will not disappoint. There are six stylish new 3.75- inch fully articulated action figures featuring a Zygon, a brand new Clara Oswald, Matt Smith’s Eleventh Doctor, a Weeping Angel (screaming), an Assault Dalek, an Imperial Guard Dalek and of course the newly regenerated Twelfth Doctor (Peter Capaldi).

The range will continue expanding in 2014, with a new series of figures planned to coincide with Series 8; Peter Capaldi’s first full series in the role.

The 8th series will make its way into collector’s hands from September. More news on the latest range will be unveiled shortly.

Not bad at all, however these figures still need better detail, more accessories (considering the price paid per figure of this size) AND can we have a Capaldi 12th Doctor frowning and looking grim please…just like Tom Baker this guy is ALL about the eyes and I want that recaptured here…

Now produce one in the correct scale, please.
More adult collectors buy these figures than children, and are very disappointed with these silly little toy figures. Clara’s neck is out of proportion, and Matt Smith’s Doctor… isn’t. I’m quite happy to spend 30 quid on a classic set – and it being accurate, but I won’t pay for mediocre ‘toys’. Not good enough.
Now the 11th has gone, a 5″ figure of him can appear in his final season costume as a ‘Classic’.

I for one don’t mind the figures, I think they all look ok, particularly that Amy Pond as well as Capaldi and Tennnant.

What I don’t really get is the actual wave.
I dont know about anyone else, but I personally think thy the selection is a bit odd. You have a Capaldi and Zygon-fair enough but then there’s a Clara we’ve never seen on tv, a previously released variant angel and two daleks as part of a ‘heritage line’ which in my eyes with all the different Packaging and logo dont really fit in.

    Maybe it’s just me?

And I forgot to mention the tweed 11 from series 5/6/7a PLUS all the classic daleks-what’s that all about?!?!

    • booboo

      January 22nd, 2014 - 8:02pm

      its timing

series 8 is a long way off so they are doing a “safe” wave to continue the line i think, key Character and Daleks (which always sell)

in years gone by they have been a long way into filming and therefore could get new figures ready, not so this time around

    • Alexanderop

      January 22nd, 2014 - 8:54pm

Plus they needed to release a Capaldi really and it would have been strange to release one on it’s own. Although I think a Regeneration two pack with Matt Smith may have been smart.
