January 18th, 2017 - 5:11pmIt’s not about a few million UK viewers anymore. It’s worldwide viewers and sales of the show to other countries. The show is the biggest brand the BBC has.

January 18th, 2017 - 7:31pmRatings shouldn’t matter to you if you care about the show’s content. Worrying about viewing figures is subjective and is likely to persuade you to agree with them and leave the show as well, therefore creating a negative figure… that’s how I see it anyway.

January 18th, 2017 - 8:02pmWith no Bake Off anymore and Top Gear not exactly performing, I am sure the BBC will be closely looking after the Doctor Who brand for the next few years. And I’ve a funny feeling that this year will be Capaldi’s best. Let’s hope that he stays on.

January 19th, 2017 - 11:36pmLet’s make something clear, the BBC cannot use foreign viewership or merchandise sales to justify a show’s continuation. It exists for a particular purpose and is not allowed to deviate from that.
The ratings are not dropping substantially, and where there has been a drop it can be seen everywhere across all television, not just the BBC.
