Mr. Potato Head Meets The Doctor

Mr. Potato Head and the Doctor share something in common, aside from their enduring popularity. They have both changed faces and transformed guises multiple times this past half-century. This August, Hasbro’s iconic spud and BBC Worldwide have mashed together to form Mr. Potato Head – The Eleventh Doctor! Complete with eight removable parts and pieces, this is one hot-potato to look out for!

Under license from HASBRO INC. and BBC Worldwide, PPW TOYS is launching a line of DOCTOR WHO MR. POTATO HEAD figures which are being exclusively distributed by UNDERGROUND TOYS. New-potatoes will be announced throughout the year.

These unique, one-of-a-kind collectibles were debuted at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Like other co-licensed spuds developed from PPW Toys, the new DOCTOR WHO line is being designed with collectors in mind. The attention to detail, scale and specific design elements will make these a must-have for both MR POTATO HEAD and DOCTOR WHO fans of all ages.

The Spuds are fully-functioning collectible toys with a variety of fun components to mix and match, for play or display. “We are excited to be working with BBC Worldwide and HASBRO this year on such an exciting property.” says Dean Gorby, Business Manager for PPW Toys. “Fans of Doctor Who have such a strong connection with the show and will be delighted to see the extraordinary transformation of Mr. Potato Head as he personifies these iconic characters.”

Robyn Morgan, Licensing Director at Underground Toys commented: “PPW Toys, Underground Toys, the BBC and Hasbro have executed this remarkable product collaboration in record time! We are very proud of the outcome and we believe the fans will love this special take on the Doctor”.

More versions are in development so stay-tuned. Doctor Who Mr. Potato Head products will be available at specialty retailers and e-tailers in Europe, the US and Australia.

Yeah – Cancelled the 2nd./3rd. Wave of Retro Figures after nearly a 2 year wait. Took all the Zeon merchandise that was gonna be at the Science Museum off. Will be cancelling the Eaglemoss Figurine Collection Friday if I don’t get a response from the Database Factory. Fed up of being ignored so now I don’t buy!

seems part of the course, you are not alone, emails form the site or as a customer rarely get answered from most licence holders across the board

    • Seekles

      July 18th, 2013 - 11:27am

In BifBangPow!’s defence, they have shipping the second wave out, so it isn’t their fault that you have yet to receive the figures. Unfortunately, the blame lies with the retailer. The third wave always has been due September 2013.

      July 18th, 2013 - 9:06pm

Radburn- I rang eaglemoss earlier and they are still saying it is the end of august for the figures and that issues from issue 1 will be sent, although I have given up on some other partworks from them which I kept missing issues.

Are Eaglemoss actually aware of the problems people are having with communication? reading around the forums the problems seem to be wide spread

      July 19th, 2013 - 8:36pm

the 2nd wave of bigbangpow figures has been in the shops for mounts

    • Radburn

      July 20th, 2013 - 5:58am

I should think Eaglemoss know nothing about this. If you employ another company to distribute your Product, I think it highly unlikely that they would turn round to Eaglemoss & say “Oh by the way, we aren’t doing our job & have just lost another £400”

I told the Database Factory I would never purchase another subscription from them again…

I highly doubt it will be limited to the US, considering Hasbro (the company that makes Mr. Potato Head… I only know that because I live where they are based and they have a giant Potato Head statue out front >.< ) is an international company, and they have their hands all over the place.
