Yes, it’s one or their thrice-yearly Special Editions (not to be confused with their also-three-times-a-year magbooks – the silver-edged ones currently doing specific years in Who history) and those are always available in WHSmiths and the like. Not sure about supermarkets though.

It should be – I think. I’m certainly expecting it to be and it was last year.

I love the Year books, very much looking forward to more Flux behind the scenes.

I think the DWM year Book has taken the coveted Annual spot for me. Being an older fan, I think this one is the better of the two. Even if I think the Panini Annual is a shambles , with no comic strip or text stories.

The official DW annuals haven’t been published by Panini for 15-odd years now. The only one they got to do was the one published in 2005, cover-dated 2006, with Nine and Rose on the cover. After that, BBC Worldwide took the Annual licence back in and it was handed to BBC Books (part of Penguin/Random House now) who have handled it to this day. In fact, it was rumoured that poor old Panini were so far along in developing new fiction content for a 2007 annual before they lost the licence, that is how their 4-year run of ‘Storybook’ volumes began – the first was using material that was going to have been in their second annual.

There will be two Doctor Who magazines out. This on the last Thursday of 2021 and the next regular DWM on the first Thursday of 2022.
