Doctor Who Magazine Special 67 The Missing Doctor Who

Available to order from www.panini.co.uk

Doctor Who Magazine presents a new Special Edition, packed with exclusive features and rare photos. This issue reveals the results of the ‘League of Legends’ poll, which asked readers to name the ‘lost’ episodes they’d most like to watch. But that’s just the beginning of a journey into the most mysterious corners of the Whoniverse…

“We’ve extended the definition of ‘missing Doctor Who’ wider than ever before,”
says editor Marcus Hearn. “Within these pages you’ll find articles about filming locations that have disappeared, merchandise that never made it to shops and a remarkable Tenth Doctor story that was never produced.”

Other highlights include CG reconstructions of sets from The Daleks’ Master Plan and The Space Pirates, and a new insight into the making of The Smugglers. There are exclusive interviews with Carole Ann Ford, Wendy Padbury, Anneke Wills, Macra Terror director John Davies and others.

This is the essential guide to the Doctor Who you never saw!

Doctor Who Magazine Special Edition: The Missing Doctor Who is on sale Thursday 1 August

It’s once in a blue moon that I get something DWM-adjacent and find it so interesting I read it cover to cover. This is one of them. The results of the poll are absurd of course, though still amusing, but there are some genuinely outstanding features in here.

Because the magazine is called missing doctor who. it isn’t just about missing episodes. It’s about missing doctor who in general and one of things covered is unmade/missing scripts.

Says in all really on the Front Cover in big Letters. The Tenth Doctor Vs the Bog-Men.
A story that was actually written for the Tenth Doctor for Season 8, but was pulled at the last minute infavour of The Fires of Pompeii.

It was a Tenth Doctor story that was dropped from the 2008 Season.
It said it was an Indiana Jones Style Story were the Doctor Fights against Nazis and Bogmen.
The Story begins when the Tenth Doctor lands in a British Museum in 1944 and a New adventure arises. Sounds like a really good story but I wondered if it was dropped because of the use of Nazis in a “Children’s Show”. The Nazis never seem to go go very well with certain Audiences.

I don’t have the issue but that sounds a lot like the Mark Gatiss episode, “The Suicide Exhibition”, which was scrapped in favour of “The Fires of Pompeii”.

It indeed was the Suicide Exhibition by Mark Gatiss.

Will this be available online only or in shops as well? (I’m guessing WH Smith will get copies).

Lovely looking Cover. My Favourite Wendy Padbury Who outfit aswell. That outfit always reminded me of Captain Kirks outfit in the First ever Star Trek Film, The Motion Picture.
