WHSmith have said the deluxe edition of this month’s DWM will contain a 32-page supplement called ‘Past Masters’, A1 double-sided poster, A4 art card, Sheet of stickers with an Audio Download code, Exclusive audio CD made specifically for the Deluxe issue.

Are the Doctor Who magazine cover reveals embargoed now? They used to reveal the cover of the New issue a few days before it went on sale but didn’t do it last issue and doesn’t look like they will be doing for new issue out this Thursday.

Just finished reading mine and really surprised they forgot to include an article on Resolution considering they had episodes 1 to 10 of Series 11 in the 2019 Year Book. It might have been on 1st Jan 2019 but should have been included.

Enjoyed the articles. Although I only buy the Year Books now.

I have always found it to be a rule of thumb that it comes out exactly one week after its announced release date (ie the following thirsday). even then I wait an extra day until the Friday for staff to get it out on the shelf.

The subscriber copy came quite early – the day after Boxing Day. One of the benefits of subscribing IMO is that you don’t have to go hunting for the Special Editions. Seen a lot of comments recently about the price of this, but this can be mitigated by subscribing AND magazines ARE getting more and more expensive generally, probably due to them starting to die out a little?

It’s basically a look back at the key events, merch, audio and/or video releases and any new episodes from the calendar year just ended. Think of it as a sort-of annual for older fans, if you like (and in soft covers). DWM have been doing them in this format for about 5 Christmases/NYs now. It takes the slot of one of their three specials each year.

The article doesn’t reveal anything about the next season they are releasing – but various rumours (and ‘forthcoming releases’ boards seen in some HMV branches) are saying it’s Season 14 (Tom Baker’s third)

It does state that they have shot trailer for the next release and is currently being edited. And we should expect it soon.
