I was hoping for a proper interview with John Bishop. Not an Out of the Tardis.

Such revealing series 13 questions – What’s Your favourite pizza topping? Who would you most like to meet?

I miss the days of Russell and Steven and the access they gave to proceedings. Let’s hope the next showrunner is like them.

For anyone wondering. My DWM came today ( early Wednesday is rare for me) .

This is Episode 2 . The follow up to issue 568. More articles on those who were there. Tis time watching The Patrick Troughton years. Covering the missing stories. Web of fear FoF part 2 . Sets for Macra Terror. Part 2 of 13th Doctor Short Trips story. A sea Devils story that I am sure we have heard before.but says never before known.

It’s brilliant. The cover looks superb restless .works much better IMHO.

Oh and exciting news on……ah that would be telling.

Next issue. 84 pages + 28 page new series supplement

Each to their own, but it’s pretty bizarre that some people won’t even consider buying this issue simply because of the cover. Will ‘Fact or Fiction’ or the reviews section somehow be worse this month because of the cover design? (which I like, by the way). Is it too much to cite the saying “Never judge a book by its cover”? DW fans are much better than style over content.

Hello Bunter, I can only give my personal opinion on this cover matter. But as well as been a long time collector I’ve always been a bit of an impulse buyer. I buy magazines purely on impulse, I won’t subscribe to them just to make sure I get every issue. I’m literally walking around a supermarket and if something shouts out to me I’ll buy it, somehow I can’t see this issue doing that.

Seems I’m in a minority. I LOVE this cover. Clean and simple with a cool colour palette. I’m personally put off by the photoshopped composites often used. To each their own!

Why are people always so critical? It’s just a magazine cover

Honestly, the negativity is just boring me at this point, no wonder I’ve been disconnecting myself from interacting with other fans.

I feel the same way Jason. I used to comment on YouTube videos but the constant abuse I received for being positive means I don’t bother now. Trouble is it means yet another positive voice has been silenced.

But you’re being negative now. Your enjoyment on something is not dependent on the opinions of others. Or at least it shouldn’t be.

      September 15th, 2021 - 10:28am

Trouble is Chris that when I posted a comment such as I enjoyed this episode or that actor the torrent of vile personal abuse became to much to cope with. It makes no difference to my enjoying who or indeed anything else. I still love who. But there are two sets of fans now (or at least they tend to generally fall into two categories) that are so intransigent in their views and so aggressive in their comments that interacting with them is both pointless and deeply upsetting. The constant negativity these days, not just in who fandom but across the board (I’ve friends who say it’s just as bad in star trek, star wars, marvel, game of thrones, etc) that it just wears you down.

Sorry for having an opinion. I don’t really see it as being negative. If I like something I say so, if I don’t like something I also say so. Why should I lie about it?

      September 15th, 2021 - 11:10am

Relax Coleman, your view isn’t a problem. It’s just a general comment on fandom as a whole, not specifically about this item. Besides your opinion is expressed in a non-aggressive way. You are just giving an opinion not demanding everyone else agrees or using offensive language/slurs as the type of fans I’m talking about do.

Thanks Children of Davros. I don’t particularly like all the negatively on social media either. But I believe it’s good to give an honest opinion on something. After all we can’t like everything. Theirs lots and lots of Who Merchandise I thinks great.

I’ve seen this copy in the shops a few times recently, especially Corton Wood Morrisons.
I’ve stuck to my guns and not been tempted to purchase it.
When I’ve walk past it, ive had no interest.

I’m crossing my fingers WHSmiths or Tesco get this in on Thursday as they’ve not been getting a lot of magazine deliveries lately due to the driver shortage. Still waiting for them to get Sight & Sound Magazine in which was published last Thursday!

They will probably announce the next blu Ray this month then the next magazine will have more stuff about it. The disc by disc info is usually more sooner to the release of the blu Ray boxset

Probably too soon for an official announcement. Chris chapman just finished filming last week and Matthew sweet was filming what looked like the conversation set on Sunday. Peter Crocker was also asking yesterday on twitter if anyone had lalla ward on swap shop so I think it’s not quite ready for an announcement. Maybe in another week or 2. If anything disc related will be announced in the magazine I suspect it will be galaxy 4. It’s supposed to be out in less than 8 weeks time after all

To be honest I never expected to see a Dr Who cover with just John on. Maybe John with the rest of the team and the Doctor.
Might just be me, but it doesn’t seem very Dr Who. ( Ah well).
