February 6th, 2021 - 5:04pmits a ok mag this month but £4 extra for a poster and a book witch is basically a advertisement for bbc books is a bit much

February 6th, 2021 - 8:35pmI think most fans would disagree. This is a monumental moment in DWM and Target fandom.
Coleman
February 5th, 2021 - 6:06pmManaged to pick up a copy of this today at Cortonwood Morrisons nr Barnsley.
If anyone’s still after acopy they had two left still.
James
February 4th, 2021 - 5:59pmWhy do they always plug the subscription? With all the stuff being taken into the net why not help the shops more? Have an option to get the magazines in a shop by sending subscription coupons like newspapers do?
Where possible support your local newsagents/shops
booboo
February 4th, 2021 - 6:03pmthey need the direct income and guaranteed sales to keep in business, escpcially now, happens with all magazines and always has.
James
February 4th, 2021 - 8:17pmThey still could as subscribers would be sent coupons to use to pay for the magazine instores
booboo
February 5th, 2021 - 9:10amthat would sort of defeat the object of low cost direct subscriptions.
I Understand about keeping people going to shops but these subs have been done by all magazines for years now so not sure why its suddenly an issue.

February 4th, 2021 - 5:49pmThe best DWM ever. Worth £100.
If you can’t see why that poster is not worth £50 for one side, £40 for the other, £6 for the mag and £4 for the book, then you have missed a 45 year sentient adventure thru true Who. I now need to buy a least one more copy, possibly two. Sealed, framed poster one side, framed poster the other side.
What a truly high moment for fandom..

February 4th, 2021 - 6:21pmSome interesting omissions from the poster, and yes I get they can’t show every cover used but it’s still interesting what they did and didn’t use. Book looks great n the shelves!
Anonymous
February 5th, 2021 - 9:32amYes, with Auton Invasion’s three covers, we can only have two of them.
I like the idea of a sampler book. That’s a first. Also its suitably thin, appropriate for Target.
I never open sealed DWMs as a rule but this is a must. I’ll get another copy.
For me, the best DWM ever. Been buying on release since 103..

February 4th, 2021 - 2:12pmPlenty of copies in sainsburys. The book is nice and features a short 3 page ‘story’ by Jonathan Morris that means it can be taken as a target book if you want. Personally I just think it looks great on the selves
Mac
February 4th, 2021 - 6:14pmNone near me, which is very strange. I’ll have to look next week now.
Dunc
February 3rd, 2021 - 11:28amThanks to the wall chart I now realise how many more target books I still need to get.
Gareth Pugh
February 3rd, 2021 - 10:17amSubscriber copies have started hitting the mats today; I’ve read on Gallifrey Base the Target book is indeed a sampler containing the opening chapters of each of the upcoming wave of. new Target novelisations.
A4geek
February 3rd, 2021 - 11:14amSure is. Got mine this morning so looking forward to getting stuck in.
Daniel Seymour
February 3rd, 2021 - 12:51pmBit disappointed its a sampler only, seeing as I was going to get all the books anyway once they were released. Hardly an ‘exclusive book’……..more a readers digest sampler. I was thinking it may have been more fun for the book to contain novelisations of Time Crash and other Children in Need minisodes which are considered canon..

February 3rd, 2021 - 1:28pmThat’s what I’d hoped for Daniel. I’m still going to get this issue for the book (I no longer buy the magazine regularly) but I don’t think I’ll read it as I have the books ordered and I’d rather just read them in full. It’s more of a curio for the selves than a book to read. And the cover is nice so I’m reasonably happy to get it. Still it would have lovely to have an adaptation of time crash or my favourite space/time instead of a sampler.
Deano
February 3rd, 2021 - 2:28pmYes I received mine which was a very pleasant surprise I don’t recall ever having received a copy early since subscribing back in March so very happy and with a free book which I totally forgot all about.
MJS
February 3rd, 2021 - 5:00pmIt IS disappointing it’s only a sampler, but it.dod say book, not novelisation which they usually use when referring to a target book, so i kind of thought it wouldn’t be a novel. Oh well!
It is still a lovely little thing and will look nice on the Target shelf
MJS
February 2nd, 2021 - 7:14pmI think it’s safe to assume it’s a “sampler” boom. The images on the cover are all from upcoming Target releases. 13 fro The Witchfinders, 4 from Pirate Planet and 11 is reversed from Crimson Horror
MJS
February 2nd, 2021 - 7:15pmBook. Not boom!
Coleman
February 2nd, 2021 - 7:59pmThe auto corrects a nightmare it’s always changing stuff I write. Usually check it about 3times now before I post. (It still manages to squeeze something in I never wrote).
Demdike@CultLabs
February 2nd, 2021 - 12:25pmI imagine the poster might feature small images of every Target book release on one side.
Anonymous
February 2nd, 2021 - 12:29pmIt’s saying wallchart so I think it might as you say feature he covers but be a bit of a guide/tick off chart
Coleman
February 2nd, 2021 - 5:57pmReally looking forward to the wallchart now, if it’s like I suspect a chart showing off the covers of the previous books Target books.
Demdike@CultLabs
February 3rd, 2021 - 2:51pmGot that one right about showing every book cover on the poster.
Educated guess as they did it with every magazine cover to celibrate 500 issues or whatever the anniversary was a couple of years ago.
Anonymous
February 2nd, 2021 - 10:43amI wish they would give fans the opportunity to have their artwork used for the front covers, some of them are fantastic
Demdike@CultLabs
February 3rd, 2021 - 2:53pmSome of them aren’t though so i guess they’d get loads of vitriol on social media for not having covers from people who can barely draw.
Anonymous
February 2nd, 2021 - 10:33amOh, there are 2 extras! 🙂 Double wow!
Anonymous
February 2nd, 2021 - 10:32amOoh, extra! 🙂
The Spell
February 1st, 2021 - 9:21pmI assume from the cover that the book will be a sampler containing extracts, rather than a standalone novel.
Master of M
February 2nd, 2021 - 4:48pmThat’s my take on it, but don’t know for sure.
Dalekz
February 1st, 2021 - 7:43pmOooh a book inside, I love extras!
Kone112
February 1st, 2021 - 7:23pmI might be missing something here. But what’s on the wall chart.
Anonymous
February 1st, 2021 - 7:28pmDoesn’t say yet
Anonymous
February 1st, 2021 - 6:41pmA target book guide perhaps?
OnTarget
February 1st, 2021 - 5:44pmHopefully not as padded as the last issue with the ‘world cup’ stuff
Tardis
February 1st, 2021 - 8:10pmTotally agree
Mac
February 1st, 2021 - 8:59pmYeah. 50 years of The Master and that’s what they come up with
Coleman
February 1st, 2021 - 5:33pmWill their be 2 versions of this magazine, like they’ve done in the past, with a normal version at £5.99 without the book?
I’ll buy this version with the book. (Just curious).
BigBen64
February 1st, 2021 - 5:40pmJudging by how this is the only version they’ve advertised, I’d think not.
If they’d be doing a deluxe edition, they’d say something in the previous magazine.
But this is the only way of getting Issue 561.
The Flying Shark
February 1st, 2021 - 5:44pmNo, just the one 9.99 issue with the book and wallchart
Anonymous
February 1st, 2021 - 5:08pmDoctor Who and the library of time? Is this a newly written story?
JL
February 1st, 2021 - 5:22pmJudging by the cover art, it looks related to the upcoming target book releases
Anonymous
February 1st, 2021 - 5:29pmI’m guessing it might have samples from some books in the new wave
Alberto Frog
February 1st, 2021 - 6:07pmYes, there might be a framing story, leading into snippets of the new books.
