and next month (50th) they are doing a special edition souvenir edition with art cards 32 extra pages and more it looks brilliant but it is £7.99

October 16th, 2013 - 1:08pmThere aren’t going to be all that many details on the recovery yet. They are having to keep a hold of them for now seemingly due to other ongoing negotiations connected to this. Once the dust has cleared we shall hear the story in full.
Also, just to point out that doesn’t guarantee more episodes have been found (because some people have assumed that), just they were working on other recovery operations at the same time which may still be underway or in negotiations and until they are concluded we cannot hear the full story… yet.

October 11th, 2013 - 10:58amTape and storage were expensive so the BBC regularly made room for new stuff either by recording over the tape or burning them. Dr Who was lucky in that it was sold overseas so some eps escaped destruction in the UK by being sent abroad. The country then sent it to the BBC or the next country or destroyed it and sent a note of destruction to the BBC. In the 70s, the importance of archiving was recognised. Sadly some eps weren’t in it anymore and are feared destroyed. Fans recorded the soundtrack of eps meaning the audio exists for all episodes.
