Doctor Who Magazine Issue 444
106 episodes from the black-and-white years of Doctor Who are missing from the BBC’s Archives; the original tapes long since wiped.
However, film copies were made and sold all over the world in the 1960s and 70s.
Where did these episodes go – and, more importantly, could they still exist somewhere today?
DWM 444 presents the ultimate guide to which episodes were sold, where and when – and the chances of their survival. The answers might surprise you…

March 9th, 2012 - 8:38amOh, I’m so lucky that eason’s don’t sell the latest issue until after release date; I got this one the 7th March, that’s the day issue 445 comes out.
So relieved to find they still had this one, I also bought the 11th Doctor companion volume 4.
Hope volume 5 is Blue, we’ve had pinkish purplish vortex in the background, then it was emerald green, then it was orangey red, then it was bright green, next it should be dark blue ! 😀 You know what I mean.

The film can’s label says “Doctor Who: The Macra Terror”, “Doctor Who: The Evil of The Daleks” and “Doctor Who: The Moonbase”.
I don’t know where they came from, but I was clearing my Great-Grandad’s BBC suitcase, and I found these film reels/cans of whatever. But not 100% on where he got them.

Bow tie of Doom (Previously The Wooden Prince)
February 1st, 2012 - 6:30pm“On their planet, “Doctor” translated as “Jeweller”- Jeweller to the stars they named me. I like that. So much less aggressive than “the Oncoming Storm” or “Destroyer Of Worlds” or “Bow tie of Doom”. No one has ever really called me that, by the way. Bow ties are never doom-y. Well, rarely.”
-The Eleventh Doctor in Horror Of The Space Snakes by Gary Russell. The second story in the brand new 2 in 1 book Monstrous Missions.
