Showing now as shipped from FP 2nd class 3-5 working daYs, total of 20.49 (15.99+4.50p+p), if anYone else ordered via this route, would be interested to know the condition it arrived in, as their packaging doesn’t look substantial in the photo provided! I’ve never paid £20 for a magazine and if it’s not pristine at that price, it’s going back again and again until it is!

Ongoing situation with their shops is exasperating as the companY works regionally, our local FP supplier can’t even order the special, as it gets all stock from FP.co.uk, not FP.com,
total lotterY depending on where you live…

Interestingly Amazon have this morning charged my card for my pre-order of this. They normally never charge before dispatch but the predicted arrival date is still showing as Nov25-27. I wonder if their algorithms ‘spot’ a run of cancellations if people bail and go elsewhere to get it quicker (there’s been a lot of that on this MagBook over on GallifreBase, for example) and it triggers a ‘soft lock in’ of moving to charge pre-orders. ‘Soft’ as in I can still cancel, but it’s a bit more of a disincentive to do that, now having to wait on a refund if I did?

I’ve had a delivery date from Amazon 3 times now over the past 3 weeks and on each day it is meant to be delivered they email me to say there has been a delay. It now has no date.

So hopefully I will get it eventually. I used a gift voucher though.

    Hi,
Just to let you all know that I have received my copy today – ordered directly from Panini and a bonus was that I also received the Liberation of the Daleks so I would imagine that they are being disrupted to the retailers and should be available to purchase.

I pre-ordered this a while ago. Supposed to be delivered Tuesday or Wednesday this week but I doubt it will as I’m still waiting for the once upon a time graphic novel.

I doubt it! It was mentioned in the latest Dr Who magazine, but was given as a price to buy separately and no mention of it being included.
Would have been a great bonus if it was.

Hi. Richard, how have you managed to get it for £14.99? I’m a Prime member and it only appears to be £19.99?

If you are using the App. Scroll down main screen to near the bottom.

Offers available to you appear there every now and then. Click it to accept it then £5 discount will appear on your next order of £15 or over as long as you use it before the 29th.

I seem to get these a few times a year now but I’m not a Prime member.

I used to work at a newsagent if their was a certain magazine we did not stock we could order it in at the customers request we took their details and contacted them when it came in we kept the current issue for them at least until the next issue, but if the customer didn’t come to collect and pay after 2 issues we would simply cancel the order and sent the issues back as we would just get out money back from the wholesalers.

But their are not many local newsagents about these days because a lot of newspapers and magazines are nearly all digitally, not only that they relied on profit too on selling cigarettes and tobacco, confectionary, sweets, greetings cards and stationary.I

So if your lucky to find a local newsagent selling newspapers and magazines they may still take requested orders as long as your a loyal customer and collect every issue every month they will keep it on order for you.

That was how I always used to get Transformers comics when I was a kid, and Doctor Who Magazine as a teen. Couldn’t rely on John Menzies getting the magazine every month, but the local newsagent would order me a copy.

One month they didn’t get the magazine due to a problem with the distributor, and the owner got onto them to get it sent along with my next issue. Great customer service.

Bookazines get delivered via whs warehouse. On the shelf timing depends on when store gets their deliveries, when the store gets the item allocated to them/or if they are listed to have all bookazine titles or just a small range.

The magazine comes via smiths news or monies depending where you are in the UK. Replace old issue with new one. If none left and not the normal news person doing the stores delivery that day they may just see doctpre who on the bookazine and remove that one. Plus the bookazinea ger depreciated; either if shelf life has finished or slow sales.

Found that you have to be lucky to get some of the chronicles magazines due to that.

There is nowhere to buy DWM now near me. I’m not going to buy from Panini online and get stung by the postage costs. I don’t want to subscribe as then you are committed to buying every issue. Can’t see the mag lasting at 7.99 an issue, Sainsburys and Tesco seem to have stopped stocking it, probably due to poor sales.

Been discussed many times before, but I suspect that you won’t see many monthly magazines of any similar description/substance that are much cheaper by comparison. Falling sales of magazines full stop. As well as inflation etc etc.

Slightly off topic but the daily mirror have produced a 60th anniversay newspaper special. £3. Saw it in Smiths and wouldn’t have picked it up unless it was with the other Who mags. Some nice unusual photos too.

Depends on your area if it turns up at WHS some get confused with the regular issue and take off or send back.

Bookazines don’t come with magazine delivery. Bookazines don’t get sent back either. Maybe your store sold out by chance at the same time. Magazines come from smiths news in England and menzies in Scotland. Bookazines get delivered within normal delivery within the whs company with books and stationery.

@james – so when they come off the menzies truck into the store and says put next to current issue on them is a mistake?

Also lots of branches get them weeks later. Others get them on day like the Leeds store that gets lots of copies.
