Got mine and a friends from WH Smith in Lancaster, quite a surprise, cause usually it’s weeks behind it’s release date before it appears in store, they’ve got quite a few copies too

The DWMSEs are usually on time, more or less. This one and the last one have Wednesday release dates rather than Thursdays for some reason. Redcar WHS didn’t have it on the Wednesday but had plenty the day after. I suspect it will be the same this time, but I will of course be checking, just in case.

The 13th Doctor and Jack are going to be so much fun! I love it when a old friend who has travelled with other Doctors return!
Jack is probably the only one to be totally on board straight away with the fact the Doctor looks all new, he even looks like he’s excited the Doctor is totally different again.

So will this Really come out tomorrow or will it be First week in January in reality as WH Smith’s take at least 3 to 4 weeks to put these out.

it comes out tomorrow, DWM have no control over shipping delays in the current climate or when retailers put it on the shelves

I’m just gonna order it from panini as is free delivery too. Rather than try and hunt it down in the Christmas crowds.

In fairness in my experience WH Smith are usually pretty good at getting THIS line of DWM specials on the shelves on the day of release, or by the weekend immediately afterwards. It’s the Bookazines they struggle with and as suggest, can take weeks to be on the shelves (the silver ‘Essential’ guides, the recent 12th Doctor Companion guides and most recently the ‘Daleks!’ comic compilation were all part of the Bookazine line. This is one of DWM’s usual thrice-yearly (in normal times) specials, distributed the same way as the regular mag. The Bookazines apparently have to be distributed by a book distributor to WHS and that can take quite a bit longer, so it is said. But yeah, in Covid times there’s a chance this may filter through a bit slowly, I don’t know. But the last Special (‘Production Design’, end of September) wasn’t too badly affected.

It’s a magazine so comes with regular magazine titles. Staff do as best they can to get deliveries done and out ASAP. If they arrive late this is due to the supplier delivery late arrival. I know from experience of working on the high street
