Figurine Collection Magazine Time Lords Set #2

This Figurine Collection Time Lords Set #2 features The Master (Eric Roberts) from the TV Movie and the renegade “time meddler” Monk (Peter Butterworth)

Each of the five sets will contain two Time Lords, faithfully recreated as hand-painted polyresin figurines at 1:21 scale (approximately 3.5 inches tall), complete with an in-depth companion magazine – highlighting the history, costumes, and stories behind these characters from the longest-running science fiction show on television!

Just itching for the pre-order info on this one. Hope Forbidden Planet carries it, so I can get all of the ones I want from the same place.

I thought the time lord set’s were only going to be 5 altogether according to Neil he said the first 5 were planned before the new master was seen but if they carry them on why not do Sacha Dhwan master with the Jo Martin Doctor

Depending on likeness rights and estates permission we could probably get all of those. The collection just has to keep selling well.

Oh I like it…very much indeed! Will it be helmet on or off I wonder? Those bizarre blue alien faces were very striking if a rather unusual design. Looked more like mutated humans than alien I thought.

More iconic to have the full space suit arms outstretched I suppose…

Great story…I love the very end when the Doctor just walks away.

War lord not a time lord and war chief has already been confirmed as undoable due to rights.

    • Neil Corry

      February 17th, 2020 - 3:14pm

We’d do the War Chief in a heartbeat if we could track down who we need to get clearance from. It’s not for the want of trying.

Sacha Dhawan’s Master will appear in the regular run. The contents of the first five sets were decided over a year ago, before the Master’s return.

The War Lord isn’t a Time Lord and they couldn’t get approval for the War Chief.

This also reminds me of just how badly I’d love to a have 5.5″ Roberts Master. Along with a John Simm Master in that scale as he appeared in WEAT and TDF at the end of the Capaldi era. I know better than to hold my breath for either.

Theres been talk of the figurine set including all the cybermen variants. Wonder therefore what the chances of the two cyber directors from Invasion and Wheel in Space being included in the series would be. Also wondering if there are any plans to rlease the cybermats so the speak. Around three inches each in a box of four Id say.

I’d love it if Eaglemoss was able to do a Cybermat set.

    • Neil Corry

      February 17th, 2020 - 3:20pm

Cyber-planner and Cyber-director aren’t likely to happen because of the material they’re made from. We work in resin and there’s rather too much transparent plastic going on with the planner and director. This doesn’t mean we don’t review this every so often. It’s why we haven’t done the Stengos Dalek. We just can’t do it justice.

And this is the first time I’ve heard mention of cybermats being wanted. I think they’re likely way too small for us. Something three inches long (76mm) is about the size of a Dalek in the Figurine Collection.

    • Anonymous

      February 19th, 2020 - 2:08pm

How about doing a non-scaled version? Cybermats at the same size as the regular figures. I know some people would complain but I’d love to have the various cybermats as figures.

    • Anonymous

      February 19th, 2020 - 5:25pm

Not all the figures are the same scale, anyhow. That’s not a criticism, its a wonderful collect, would be nice to have a cybermat whatever scale.

    • Doctor Stu

      April 17th, 2020 - 12:32pm

Or why not have a larger base and have the different versions of each cybermat on there still in scale. Could also do something like that with Adipose, have a bunch of them lolliping around on a base

The Big Finish 8th Doctor/Dalek & Companion set has the 8th Doctor wearing the TVMovie costume, it should look great with the Eric Roberts Master

    • CybermanBill

      February 16th, 2020 - 3:13pm

@ Alvin…. it would Look Strange!!! It would look like the Eric Roberts Master was shot by a shrink Ray or the Big Finish 8th Doctor action figure was shot by a “growing” ray! The scales are way to off to put them on display, side by side of each other! It would look like the 8th Doctor and his very, very little brother, the Master were posing for a Olan Mills or Mall photograph!! That’s just my opinion though. I would never put them side by side because of the scale difference but if that’s what you want to do, go for it. Don’t let my opinion sway you. Any way a collector wants to display his collection is up to him!!

Does this mean the Time Lord sets will not be available on the US Eaglemoss site or just this one? Sometimes it’s hard to know what will become available and these sets are amazing and I want to be prepared if I’ll need to pay extra from eBay or other reseller sites. I’d rather get directly from Eaglemoss but understand if there are issues restricting it. I wish there was a place we could go to know what will come out in the US. I don’t mind waiting but don’t want to miss out either if they never appear over here.

Neil has said many times that if the demand is high, bid the collection is still selling well (sales figures justify making more) and if they can get licensing rights from actors/deceased actors estates then he would love to be able to do ALL of the companions (which loosely translates to as many companions as possible that they are allowed to do.) The collection seems to go from strength to strength and still has a lot of interest so fingers crossed.

As always time will tell as it usually does.

    The rani and romana 1

Neil Corry… THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

That’s all I can say really, I was so pleasantly overwhelmed to see this news today. Two figurines that the majority of collectors have wanted for the longest time. A deeply heartfelt thank you to you, Ben and the whole team for the hard work and effort you put into this collection, as I’ve said many yes before it’s the best one Eaglemoss/Hero Collector have ever done. Here’s hoping we can get to 300 but I suppose that’s just a dream at the moment. Either way keep up the hard work and as ever I am waiting with excitement to see what other amazing surprises are in store for is this year.

Once again, thank you so much Neil, I really mean that.

    • Basil Funkenstein

      February 14th, 2020 - 8:44pm

Not to me Anonymous. I understand that these figurines are mass produced and hurriedly painted and I still love them for what we are. For where they are sculpted, made and where we get them from I consider myself extremely lucky to be able to be a part of collecting and supporting this amazing collection. They are 1:21 scale figurines and the likenesses on the sculpts are fantastic, if I’m “unhappy” with the way certain figures are painted I can always take the time to try and paint them better myself and I understand that is because I would have the luxury of the to do that, those that paint these initially though have strict deadlines so don’t necessarily have that option.
