Mine turned up today so I’ve something for the weekend. They have gone all out & spared absolutely nothing in producing this set. (ie) Absolutely nothing on the packaging. Whilst we get both Christmas Specials due to no Who for 2016 (Excepting this year’s Christmas Special) & a pile of Special Features to pack it out over 7 discs the big let-down is the actual package itself. Apart from a nice little booklet on Series 9 all we get is one of those dreadful disc in a plastic shell fold-over 7 times in a block box. Apart from a couple of images on the slipcase & an Episode List that’s it! I really wish they would make a better effort with these. The last 2 or 3 have been along the same lines as well.

From what I presume is the Confession Dial Artwork(?) discs 1 thru to 6 have the Confession Dial as the Outer Image, inlaid with an image from Series 9. The 7th. disc is just the complete Confession Dial Artwork with no image.

So it includes both Christmas specials that confirms that I defentley NOT buy this as last Christmas was absolutely terrible witch is why I don’t own like why I didn’t own series 8 because I don’t like the robots of sherwood ill stick with the separate releases and if I like the Christmas special I will consider it much with Sherlock Christmas special

If you don’t care about the extras and already have “Last Christmas” then it is pretty pointless getting the boxset. “The Husbands of River Song” is also getting a vanilla release so you can get that when it is available.

Ah but its not that simple! It will have disc numbers on it! I can’t put a named ‘disc 7’ in differen case! Lol But to be fair they could change the quanitity. After all series 7 had 15 episodes plus extras on just 5 discs so i’m holding out for the official cover art! Lol

Bit odd it includes this years special, the boxsets always include the Christmas special the following year, for example Last Christmas featured this year, I hope they go back to that style for Series 10, or maybe its a sign that Series 10 will not be the usual format, as Series 7 boxset included two Christmas specials also, being split over two years.

In fairness, Series 9 only finished a couple weeks back, as opposed to the month or so between Death in Heaven and Last Christmas, so it makes a lot more sense to package Husband of River Song with it than wait for the Series 10 boxset in 2017 or whenever it arrives.
