Saw the advert on TV the other night while watching Junior Bake off. Reminds me of ye olde Character adverts even though it used the 60s theme tune. Quite nostalgic.

Can’t afford it at £50 a month & I’ve nowhere to put 140 Issues anyway!

I have seen a photograph of the finished Dalek and whilst I accept it looks impressive I cannot help wondering if an earlier version of the Dalek – perhaps a Genesis Dalek or Skaro Dalek (Dead Planet) might have been more popular – I personally prefer the classic Daleks – just a generational thing!
It is my understanding that there will be 140 parts to build this Dalek and apart from the financial cost it will take a considerable amount of time to build the complete Dalek.
This is the factor that has influenced my decision not to commit myself although I do hope that others will be able to enjoy collecting and building this Dalek.

I would have added this to my collection if it were a Pertwee-era Dalek, but that’s the problem: there are just so many cruder less detailed Classic era designs (which to choose?), whilst the more well known NS bronze variant with its many varied casing details is now the standard design. The majority of fans will more likely want to look at a detailed NS Dalek than a less detailed Planet of the Daleks gunmetal grey, yes?

Sadly I have a feeling this won’t end well. There’s not been a great reception to it, people are wary after so many failed businesses and part-works and magazine collections, and it’s hugely cumulatively expensive. Also I hate to say it but do we really need it? There are so many Dalek models and toys and statues of all shapes and sizes now and nothing as expensive as this will end up being if it completes its run.

I’ll Wait and See, alot of the other companies have had a Build Set like this, but Hachette Model Kits rarely get as much flak as the others…

I Kinda hope it does well…

And sadly, the US is once again going to be getting less for around the same cost. I was sort of hoping a midsize Dalek would be cool for The Library. However, Americans not receiving a physical magazine and relaying on the kindness of Hachette to host the digital files for the life of the program and beyond is just ridiculous.

Totally agree. I even was told that the US would get a physical magazine by one of there support agents..

And all items should be available worldwide, unless it’s a regulatory issue.
