February 15th, 2025 - 4:45pmHaving decided to go for this, I was pleased with my first subscription package from Hachette.
However, I am now waiting for my second delivery (Parts 3, 4, 5, 6) which they say was “processed” on 7th February (and, they say, that processed means “left the warehouse”). So – a week later – absolutely no sign!! Not even any communication from Royal Mail to say that it’s on it’s way.
Anyone else having problems?
I shall, likely, be cancelling after this!

February 16th, 2025 - 3:44pmI have recently subscribed to this and only just got the first 2 issues, but i also get the Dungeons & Dragons Adventurer series as well, which I usually get a confirmation from Royal Mail two weeks after Hachette have said it has been Processed (I Usually Start Tracking from there)
I have also had to get a replacement for the eyestalk element as when I was putting it together, I noticed the light in the eye was not working properly

February 21st, 2025 - 10:23pmWell, I cancelled my subscription from the word go, just couldn’t to do with damaged goods, delays, returns etc..
So I opted for weekly from newsagent, glad I did, really pleased with the build so far, engineering wise excellent, so accurate, they have thought of everything, extra screws!
I look forward to every Wednesday with pleasure (sometimes Thursday), waiting four weeks, not for me!

I did order a replacement magazine, that took 7 days if that’s any help.

January 9th, 2025 - 9:45amSaw the advert on TV the other night while watching Junior Bake off. Reminds me of ye olde Character adverts even though it used the 60s theme tune. Quite nostalgic.

January 2nd, 2025 - 11:18pmCan’t afford it at £50 a month & I’ve nowhere to put 140 Issues anyway!

January 24th, 2025 - 9:15pm@Radburn. They’re not very big issues! We’re not talking DWM here. Issues 1 & 2 are 16 pages each, and quite frankly if you’re a DW fan you’ve read it all before. Besides, they send subscribers a binder to put them all in.

December 30th, 2024 - 4:00pmI have seen a photograph of the finished Dalek and whilst I accept it looks impressive I cannot help wondering if an earlier version of the Dalek – perhaps a Genesis Dalek or Skaro Dalek (Dead Planet) might have been more popular – I personally prefer the classic Daleks – just a generational thing!
It is my understanding that there will be 140 parts to build this Dalek and apart from the financial cost it will take a considerable amount of time to build the complete Dalek.
This is the factor that has influenced my decision not to commit myself although I do hope that others will be able to enjoy collecting and building this Dalek.

December 30th, 2024 - 4:48pmI would have added this to my collection if it were a Pertwee-era Dalek, but that’s the problem: there are just so many cruder less detailed Classic era designs (which to choose?), whilst the more well known NS bronze variant with its many varied casing details is now the standard design. The majority of fans will more likely want to look at a detailed NS Dalek than a less detailed Planet of the Daleks gunmetal grey, yes?

December 23rd, 2024 - 5:35amSadly I have a feeling this won’t end well. There’s not been a great reception to it, people are wary after so many failed businesses and part-works and magazine collections, and it’s hugely cumulatively expensive. Also I hate to say it but do we really need it? There are so many Dalek models and toys and statues of all shapes and sizes now and nothing as expensive as this will end up being if it completes its run.

December 23rd, 2024 - 8:56amI’ll Wait and See, alot of the other companies have had a Build Set like this, but Hachette Model Kits rarely get as much flak as the others…
I Kinda hope it does well…

January 24th, 2025 - 9:23pmI think it’s a cracking deal. £1,700 for a half-size model that talks, drives around, opens up to show the mutant inside, rotates mid-section, extends and retracts sucker arm, and all by R/C. This Planet Earth sell full-size ones for £4,000, more than twice as much, and if you want them to do all that you’ll have to mod it yourself. Plus you need the space, which I haven’t got, having already got a full-size classic amateur build.
Also I get that a classic series Dalek would be awesome, but I don’t think as many people would buy it. If you were brought up on the NSD design then the classic design might be a bit tame. It certainly wouldn’t have the rotating/opening mid-section. Maybe if this run is successful they might try it out for the next one. I understand that ProjectDalek gave them a lot of input and advice.

December 20th, 2024 - 12:12pmAnd sadly, the US is once again going to be getting less for around the same cost. I was sort of hoping a midsize Dalek would be cool for The Library. However, Americans not receiving a physical magazine and relaying on the kindness of Hachette to host the digital files for the life of the program and beyond is just ridiculous.

December 20th, 2024 - 4:34pmTotally agree. I even was told that the US would get a physical magazine by one of there support agents..
