Doctor Who Attack of the Cybermen 6th Doctor Audio CD
Available to order from www.amazon.co.uk
An unabridged reading of this thrilling novelisation featuring the Sixth Doctor and Peri.
What links a diamond raid in 20th Century London, a secret base in the heart of the city’s sewer system, a cold and desolate planet light years from Earth, and a daring plan to alter the entire course of interplanetary history?
The Doctor’s old enemy, Lytton, has allied himself with the Cybermen. Their scheme, if successful, could bring the human race to its knees.
For the Cybermen have journeyed back in time to prevent the destruction of their home world. And for Mondas to survive, the Earth must die…
“Slick and polished…immersive productions of much-loved novelisations…long may we enjoy them.” – Doctor Who Magazine

February 13th, 2024 - 6:55pmThe Target novels existed before VHS was affordable to collect stories. This is from 1989 and is fairly faithful adaptation of the script for the page. It’s performed by David Banks for us to enjoy.
You can certainly watch the story, but these are fun in their own way. I enjoy them for the nostalgia of my younger days. But if you don’t want to listen, hey you don’t have to!

October 9th, 2023 - 11:50amHas there been any indication on what the plan is once they have released all the Target Novelisations as audiobooks? I don’t think there are many left to do. My hope would be Virgin Missing Adventures and BBC Past Doctor Adventures.

August 28th, 2023 - 6:16pmLooking forward to knowing what the rest of the target audiobook lineup for 2024 will be! These audiobooks are excellent!

August 28th, 2023 - 3:44pmAlways wondered why David Banks wasn’t selected to read more of these novelisations, but it’s great we get him to do the stories which his Cyberleader appeared in. Looking forward to this.

August 28th, 2023 - 1:18amCan someone please explain why this exists when the actual Story is available on DVD/Blu-Ray/Digital to watch?

August 29th, 2023 - 3:37pmBecause some people enjoy the stories via audio (from the novels) as well as watching the stories. Some of the novels differed / made slightly changes to the stories based on the original script ideas and sometimes the novels could do most justice to the special effects / scope of the story. You could ask ‘why watch the movie when it exists as a book?’ For all film adaptations.

February 14th, 2024 - 11:18amI take it you’re not aware of the truly vast library (millions) of audiobooks and radio plays released for existing books, TV shows, movies, of every genre? They’ve been popular since the days of vinyl, but really took off with audio cassette (they had their own section in many stores). Great way to unwind and rest the eyes. The Stephen Fry Harry Potter audio books are better than the films … er … in my opinion. 😀
