Another thing that was different from broadcast was the giggle unleashed had a tease of the goblin king song at the end. The dvd/blu ray version has a tease of the doctor and ruby in a nightclub where the doctor claims to be health and safety inspector gin and tonic division.

They used to add all the minisodes before

I suspect it was all down to disc space. The star beast ep was pretty much near the 3 hour mark (which is pretty much the max the dvd version can fit without compression). It’s 15 minutes including the unleashed mini episode. I suspect it could have fitted on wild blue yonder but it probably looked out of place there

I tried to order off WH Smith a few days ago and despite saying there is stock on the website they emailed back a few hours later canceling my order and quickly giving back a refund. No idea why they still have it saying in stock. – Hopefully you have a better outcome!

Getting a bit worried now. Preordered from HMV the day it was announced, but no money taken yet and nothing via email since last week when they emailed around the date change. Is anyone else still waiting for it from HMV? Or is everyone that’s going to get one got one by now?

Fingers crossed it comes through. Expecting this to now be one of the more sought after steelbooks which makes eBay prices unaffordable.

Ordered from amazon, may be me being impatient but am getting a little worried now, normally you can expect it a day or two after the realese date, but still showing up as arriving on the 27th makes me think that maybe they haven’t got any of the stock yet.

People have been receiving it from Amazon as of today but some others riders are still saying ‘Saturday 23rd’ (including mine) and other ‘Wednesday 27th’. My advice is don’t cancel your order yet – everywhere else seems to have sold out (including both London branches of HMV and Shaftesbury Avenue Fopp).

Mine says coming 23rd even though I’m on Amazon Prime and I preordered fairly early. No info on if it’s being delivered by Royal mail or anything. Bit annoying I won’t lie but I’m not too upset. Can wait.

Well the discs use the Disney plus international versions. The video commentaries use the bbc broadcast versions. Only difference is the placement on the producer credits is different

Do you mean the final end board, Gordon, where it mentions BBC and Disney? Or the actual individual named producers, like Phil Collinson? It’s making me think of the old days, where US and UK co-productions would credit the producers from their own country first.

Actual named producers. The UK broadcast version has the exec producers names as on screen text after the titles. The D+ version has them in the end credits instead. Haven’t seen it for myself yet but seen it posted enough times to know it’s legit.

    • Rex F

      December 19th, 2023 - 11:32am

Mines finally arrived from zavvi, after waitng over a month,
But its all smashed up in pieces, so not ordering from them again, also they have charged me double, from my account once for preorder, and on December 29th, theyve also charged me for the items return, this is very greedy of them and will demand full refund.

    • Dean Fletcher

      December 11th, 2023 - 8:35pm

Yes it has always been for as long as I can remember that if you pre-order on most items you got it on day of release which they still seem to do on there bbc audio CDs either next day 24hr Royal Mail delivery or amazon logistics but now on the DVDs,Blu Rays etc…now unless your Prime its in most cases send via Royal Mail after release what with the state of the Royal Mail service as being reported in the media and social network daily
In my area we only get post twice a week highly unlikely it will arrive before Xmas or even the 27th most likely once everyone’s returned to work after the 2nd January.
      Unless you’re lucky that is.

      December 12th, 2023 - 2:33pm

Someone on x did a mock up of how they would design it…there’s looked infinitely more appealing to the eyes and definitely looked more up market
