July 24th, 2014 - 10:50pmI hope that there are more deleted scenes than the two that have already been shown. There has to be more than two XD
The Twelfth Doctor
July 24th, 2014 - 10:48pmI like how they’ve given each Doctor a spaceship on their DVD cases;
8th Doctor – Cass’ Spaceship
War Doctor – The TARDIS
Tenth Doctor – Dalek Patrol Ships
Eleventh Doctor – Dalek Motherships.

July 24th, 2014 - 10:54pmA spaceship?
The Twelfth Doctor
July 24th, 2014 - 11:09pmYes. If you zoom in on the pic you can see them.
Grey and Blue
July 25th, 2014 - 12:55amfunnily enough 3 out of four of those involve how each doctor regenerates. smith regenerates destroying warships, Hurt regenerates in his tardis and mcgann’s cause was the ship crashing. clever easter egg or accidental coincidence. You decide.

July 24th, 2014 - 10:21pmI hope this is region free considering that there’s no mention of a US/Region A release.

July 24th, 2014 - 10:18pmOh no. If you loom close enough on the image, you can see that day is in 3D. I really hope it’s not just a copy and past from the vanilla release, cause then weed have some audio problems going on…
SomeFunnyDrWhoReference
July 25th, 2014 - 11:26amAs with the solo release and in line with ANY 3D bluray, you DO get a 2D copy too. Don’t panic!!!!
drjakeyoung
July 25th, 2014 - 1:42pmThanks, hope your right about that. But I’m a bit worried about the 2d version having screwed up audio.
Grey and Blue
July 24th, 2014 - 9:09pmHope there are some larger better quality official image pictures as it is a bit small to distinguish details. Will definitely get this on blu ray and send my Blu ray of day cex’s way. Any idea whether they will have corrected audio on the day blu ray as the current one has tinny, distorted audio playback. changing player settings helps but it is still nowehere near the quality of Time and series 7 blu ray audio tracks!

July 24th, 2014 - 9:49pmif you go on base.com link on this page and hover over the image it zooms in in great quality just did it myself!

July 24th, 2014 - 7:28pmyou cant get better than blue ray
The TARDIS
July 24th, 2014 - 7:31pmDVD for me. Mainly cos I can’t stand the awful, stumpy blue cases. Also because I don’t have a blu-Ray player, but mainly the first one.
The Twelfth Doctor
July 24th, 2014 - 7:32pmI prefer DVD. £5 or so is (IMO) not worth the loss of a few pixels.

July 24th, 2014 - 7:36pmit is when your watching doctor who
the astronaut of death
July 24th, 2014 - 7:37pmI don’t have a blu ray player but my friend has one and when I watched something on that it was much better

July 24th, 2014 - 7:50pmyes, not everyone has a blu-ray player
Anonymous
July 24th, 2014 - 7:50pmwell Nicholas I think the majority vote goes to blue ray
booboo
July 24th, 2014 - 7:54pm2:1 but the other thing to consider is even if you have a bluray for your TV they are still a bit of a luxury in laptops and PC’s
The Twelfth Doctor
July 24th, 2014 - 7:54pmMajority vote? It’s not a democracy 😆
drjakeyoung
July 24th, 2014 - 10:04pm@anonymous, 4k might like a word with you 😉
MadManWithABox
July 24th, 2014 - 11:20pm1080i, which is what the Doctor Who Blu-Rays are presented in in the UK, is almost double the resolution found on DVD. It’s not ‘just a few extra pixels’, it’s literally almost twice the amount of pixels. Which, in turns, means much better quality all-round.
If you’re watching on a tiny TV then sure, go for it. But you’re kidding yourself if you seriously think there isn’t much difference between Blu-Ray and DVD.
The Twelfth Doctor
July 25th, 2014 - 12:20amYet again, I’m being told my opinion is invalid. 🙁
The Twelfth Doctor
July 25th, 2014 - 12:26amAnd anyway, I personally can’t justify paying extra money just to get a clearer picture. Especially when the picture on the standard version is great anyway.
MadManWithABox
July 25th, 2014 - 12:46amNot saying your opinion is invalid, just that you shouldn’t knock Blu-Ray ’till you try it 🙂
The Twelfth Doctor
July 25th, 2014 - 12:52amI have tried it. I bought TDOTD blu-ray and the sound was off and it didnt fit with my collection.
MadManWithABox
July 25th, 2014 - 1:41amWell, TDOTD Blu-Ray was kinda a special case due to the different frame-rates between the 2D and 3D versions….
But if you’re happy with DVD, then that;s fine by me 🙂
Anonymous
July 25th, 2014 - 3:02pmBlu ray for sure
Boris Johnson
July 26th, 2014 - 2:10pmLook, if you get the edition you want then that is fine. But arguing is pointless. Blu-Ray will always be a better package and DVD will always be cheaper.
When The Doctor Was Me
July 24th, 2014 - 6:47pmThat artwork is stunning! Cannot wait now! 😀
SomeFunnyDrWhoReference
July 24th, 2014 - 6:41pmI’ll be gettng this and i’ll be donating my Time of the Doctor BR and AAiSaT BR (Region Free) to a random Whovian…. (probably have to keep DotD BR as it’s 3D)… No mention of that on this set……..
BigBangTwo
July 24th, 2014 - 7:34pmIt includes the 3D version.
Notice the BR3D Logo in the bottom right.
Boris Johnson
July 26th, 2014 - 2:11pmHow are you deciding which random Whovian. Just a query.

July 24th, 2014 - 1:52pmYAY! SO happy this is available for shipment to the US and I agree in that it is MUCH cheaper than I thought it would be. Thank you, BBC!
MadManWithABox
July 25th, 2014 - 12:48amJust remember your DVD/Blu-Ray player will need to be region-free or from the UK if you want to play UK DVDs/Blu-Rays in the US.
Stuart Mortimer
July 24th, 2014 - 1:47pmAll i can say is, it better be presented well, seeing as the Blu ray of just the 50th is on amazon for only 6 quid this week, so 32 pounds a bit of a stretch, still, if only to see those awesome cinema intros again in high definition!
Shane
July 24th, 2014 - 1:19pmI’ve no money until next week and BBC Shop require you to have the money in your card even for a pre-order. Wish this was on Amazon. When do you think they will sell out of the Blu-ray version?
Scott
July 24th, 2014 - 12:47pmDoes anyone know if the BBC shop takes the money out of your account right away? The last time I ordered from them they did even tho it wasn’t out for a while as they usually take it out as it’s being shipped!
SomeFunnyDrWhoReference
July 24th, 2014 - 1:10pmIt will be taken on or near despatch date

July 24th, 2014 - 12:40pmwhen do the BBC take the money for pre orders?
Shane
July 24th, 2014 - 2:28pm@Tranzalore I tried so many codes off different sites (and one I had myself from the new comics but it was for America shop only I think) and none worked. Thanks for this one. It worked! 🙂
Shane
July 24th, 2014 - 2:30pm@WHOSTHEDADDY, they don’t take until it despatches but unfortunately they put the money on hold so you still need to have the money in your account at time of order and it is inaccessible until it clears so it’s the same as being charged, only they don’t actually literally take it from your bank until despatch.
StormOfOncomers
July 24th, 2014 - 4:45pm@Trenzalore
Cheers for the code, worked perfectly!
