    I like how they’ve given each Doctor a spaceship on their DVD cases;

    8th Doctor – Cass’ Spaceship
    War Doctor – The TARDIS
Tenth Doctor – Dalek Patrol Ships
    Eleventh Doctor – Dalek Motherships.

funnily enough 3 out of four of those involve how each doctor regenerates. smith regenerates destroying warships, Hurt regenerates in his tardis and mcgann’s cause was the ship crashing. clever easter egg or accidental coincidence. You decide.

As with the solo release and in line with ANY 3D bluray, you DO get a 2D copy too. Don’t panic!!!!

Thanks, hope your right about that. But I’m a bit worried about the 2d version having screwed up audio.

  • Grey and Blue

    July 24th, 2014 - 9:09pm

Hope there are some larger better quality official image pictures as it is a bit small to distinguish details. Will definitely get this on blu ray and send my Blu ray of day cex’s way. Any idea whether they will have corrected audio on the day blu ray as the current one has tinny, distorted audio playback. changing player settings helps but it is still nowehere near the quality of Time and series 7 blu ray audio tracks!

    • The Twelfth Doctor

2:1 but the other thing to consider is even if you have a bluray for your TV they are still a bit of a luxury in laptops and PC’s

      @anonymous, 4k might like a word with you 😉

    • MadManWithABox

      July 24th, 2014 - 11:20pm

1080i, which is what the Doctor Who Blu-Rays are presented in in the UK, is almost double the resolution found on DVD. It’s not ‘just a few extra pixels’, it’s literally almost twice the amount of pixels. Which, in turns, means much better quality all-round.

If you’re watching on a tiny TV then sure, go for it. But you’re kidding yourself if you seriously think there isn’t much difference between Blu-Ray and DVD.

    • The Twelfth Doctor

      July 25th, 2014 - 12:20am

Yet again, I’m being told my opinion is invalid. 🙁

    • The Twelfth Doctor

      July 25th, 2014 - 12:26am

And anyway, I personally can’t justify paying extra money just to get a clearer picture. Especially when the picture on the standard version is great anyway.

    • MadManWithABox

      July 25th, 2014 - 12:46am

Not saying your opinion is invalid, just that you shouldn’t knock Blu-Ray ’till you try it 🙂

    • The Twelfth Doctor

      July 25th, 2014 - 12:52am

I have tried it. I bought TDOTD blu-ray and the sound was off and it didnt fit with my collection.

    • MadManWithABox

      July 25th, 2014 - 1:41am

Well, TDOTD Blu-Ray was kinda a special case due to the different frame-rates between the 2D and 3D versions….

But if you’re happy with DVD, then that;s fine by me 🙂

    • Anonymous

      July 25th, 2014 - 3:02pm

      Blu ray for sure

    • Boris Johnson

      July 26th, 2014 - 2:10pm

Look, if you get the edition you want then that is fine. But arguing is pointless. Blu-Ray will always be a better package and DVD will always be cheaper.

All i can say is, it better be presented well, seeing as the Blu ray of just the 50th is on amazon for only 6 quid this week, so 32 pounds a bit of a stretch, still, if only to see those awesome cinema intros again in high definition!

@Tranzalore I tried so many codes off different sites (and one I had myself from the new comics but it was for America shop only I think) and none worked. Thanks for this one. It worked! 🙂

    • Shane

      July 24th, 2014 - 2:30pm

@WHOSTHEDADDY, they don’t take until it despatches but unfortunately they put the money on hold so you still need to have the money in your account at time of order and it is inaccessible until it clears so it’s the same as being charged, only they don’t actually literally take it from your bank until despatch.

    • StormOfOncomers

      July 24th, 2014 - 4:45pm
