Doctor Who follows the adventures of the last Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey who simply goes by the name “The Doctor”. At the end of the 2013 season, The Doctor regenerated into his new form and new personality, and is portrayed by legendary Scottish actor Peter Capaldi.
This new incarnation, the Twelfth Doctor, is a spiky, brusque, pragmatic, yet funny, passionate and fearless character who travels with his companion, Clara Oswald. His adventures with (and without) Clara in the 2014 season lead him to make tough and ruthless decisions that make him question his character and the value of his travels.
This all new 5 inch tall figure showcases the new look The Doctor takes on after the regeneration, featuring his now signature dark blue Crombie-style coat with red lining, dark blue trousers, a long collared white shirt buttoned to the top with no tie, and brogue boots. He also comes with his trusty sonic screwdriver.

I received mine today after getting a dispatch email on Thursday. Like others have said, I too think the figure is better in the hand than how it was presented in the promo picture. Although I don’t think it’s the best offering from Character Options as far as likeness to the actor is concerned. Maybe some better paint apps. would help it? Not sure.
Anyway I found it easy to remove the head and replace it with the “regenerated” TOTD one as I think it has a better resemblance to Capaldi as The Doctor, even if it does have that smirk ;-/
All in all, I’m happy enough with it considering what it is (a £15 toy) and we do finally get a 5″ scale Doctor number 12 which I never thought would hapoen so “YAY!”
Hope anyone who’s still waiting gets theirs soon enough, cheers!

-it’s taller than the TOTD matt smith figure
-the ring has the green dot in the middle
-it has the same articulation as the TOTD 11th Doctor but with rotating shoes
-the belt is apart of the shirt mould
-the red lining is painted on, rather than the navy being painted
-the actual shirt is A seperate piece from the torso, just like the TOTD 11th doc but it’s glued on
-there’s a lot more detail in the face including wrinkles in the corners of the eyes

So far the Christmas costume is not going to be sold anytime soon and no costume from series 9 will be made until series 9 has ended

Also it’s probably cheaper to use black coloured plastic for the shirt, rather than painting it dark blue

September 12th, 2015 - 2:51pmI got mine today. Really pleased with it and I think the red lining is pretty cool. The flaps of the coat are quite malleable so you can have him displayed like he is in the promotional photos if you so wish to. Personally, I think the likeness is rather a good one of Peter Capaldi, but it isn’t the best likeness of his portrayal of The Doctor. I know that sounds rather strange, but that’s just my view!
Hopefully we get one with his more definitive hoody and jumper clothing in the future with a better headsculpt and longer hair.

However, the likeness still isn’t great (in my opinion).
I don’t think I’ll pre-order the polkadot variant as the dots look overly large. I may consider the burgundy version though!
Overall, I’d say it’s definitely worth having as a 5inch figure, but the likeness and lack of waistcoat let it down!
