Doctor Who follows the adventures of the last Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey who simply goes by the name “The Doctor”. At the end of the 2013 season, The Doctor regenerated into his new form and new personality, and is portrayed by legendary Scottish actor Peter Capaldi.
This new incarnation, the Twelfth Doctor, is a spiky, brusque, pragmatic, yet funny, passionate and fearless character who travels with his companion, Clara Oswald. His adventures with (and without) Clara in the 2014 season lead him to make tough and ruthless decisions that make him question his character and the value of his travels.
This all new 5 inch tall figure showcases the new look The Doctor takes on after the regeneration, featuring his now signature dark blue Crombie-style coat with red lining, dark blue trousers, a long collared white shirt buttoned to the top with no tie, and brogue boots. He also comes with his trusty sonic screwdriver.

July 29th, 2015 - 3:29pmI’m sorry but this looks horrible. The 3 3/4 inch one looks awful and so does this prototype! i stopped collection these because of the 3 3/4 scale range! why didn’t they just update the time of the doctor head sculpt?! at least that slightly resembled the actor.
the ergon
July 28th, 2015 - 11:58amI want this, clara and the curator set and more from the 5 inch range.
MrHalloWho
July 28th, 2015 - 7:47pmThere aren’t any more. Unless you mean the TARDIS.
Anonymous
July 28th, 2015 - 10:00pmhe means he wants them to do more figures for the 5 inch range, they really need to make more 5 inch!
Tardis Dude
July 29th, 2015 - 1:34pmTheir is gonna be more, they are doing a collectors line, those figures will be made:-)
Ian
July 27th, 2015 - 10:22pmI was told that Al Dewar said the Curator set will cost around £25-£30 because of the painting. I think it should include the 11th Doctor from Time of the Doctor.
Anyway does anyone know a likely release date yet?
Anonymous
July 28th, 2015 - 10:50am£8 for a painting!
Doctor_Number 10
July 27th, 2015 - 8:57pmBooboo, is there any information about flight control Tardis yet? Release date or anything.
booboo
July 27th, 2015 - 9:01pmnothing that i have seen
they will probably just turn up in toys r us
Doctor_Number 10
July 29th, 2015 - 11:20pmWould that also be for toys r us in the U.S.?
Biggest mistake
July 27th, 2015 - 3:11pmIt dose not look like the 12th Doctor. Is this prototype I hope

Seeing the two side-by-side makes you want to forget about the 5″ not having a waistcoat.
DS
July 28th, 2015 - 12:08amThe more I visit this page, the more I see Capaldi in the sculpt.
However, I am forgetting about it until we actually see the sculpt in person.
One factor is the scan and sculpt, the other is the paint apps.
I can also see which facial expression they were trying to capture.
There might need to be some initial patience with this 5″ reboot.
I am happy something is finally available and all will be revealed in October
MrHalloWho
July 27th, 2015 - 11:46amWhen did the Doctor give his sonic to River? It’s a modified version of the 10th Doctor’s, but the only two he had in that style were S1-S2 and S2-S5.
joe
July 27th, 2015 - 1:08pmIts during the mini episodes that was released with the serise 6 boxset I think.
Wholords2
July 27th, 2015 - 2:27pmNo they haven’t showed the doctor giving the sonic to river yet
Anonymous
July 27th, 2015 - 6:05pmThey haven’t “shown” it, but they did show him about to give it to her, it was the Eleventh Doctor so you aren’t going to be seeing it now.
TheAgeOfUltron
July 26th, 2015 - 1:19pmThat image looks the 3.75 Twelfth Doctor Normal Outfit and Caretaker Outfit mixed together!
Ryan
July 25th, 2015 - 9:42pmI’m still quite disappointing about the lack of waistcoat here, but, strange and pedantic as it is this costume does feature on screen, in the first mere couple of seconds of “The Caretaker” when the Doctor and Clara are tied up. In the long shot you can see that the Doctor is not wearing a waistcoat or cardigan over his white shirt. So at least the figure is screen accurate in some respects… to a combination of outfit that is literally seen on screen for about four seconds… Oh well, it’s still nice to have 🙂
Dalek The Supreme
July 27th, 2015 - 7:57pmThanks for the information. I’m still not getting this, but I no longer hate it as I used to.
EndlessTimelord
July 25th, 2015 - 1:45pmWhen do you think the other ones will be out? 🙂
booboo
July 25th, 2015 - 2:07pmno idea, some of these were to marked by Character but we dont how yet
The Foretold
July 24th, 2015 - 7:51pmI’m hoping the “black outfit” turns out to be The Doctor’s blue shirt from Time Heist. I know some people mistakenly say it’s black in the story and it’d be nice to have all four variants screen accurate.
Sam Richard Bentley
July 24th, 2015 - 8:28pmIt’s not mistaken at all. The shirt is definitely black. http://i1.cdnds.net/14/38/618×412/uktv-doctor-who-time-heist-02.jpg
Doctor W
July 24th, 2015 - 9:55pmI say its black or a weird grey colour.
The Foretold
July 24th, 2015 - 10:45pmIt’s definitely blue. It does appear darker, almost black / grey in shots, but it’s absolutely blue. If Character were to release a black shirt variant, then they’d be attempting to do the jumper on the cheap, like The Caretaker 3.75″ figure. They would not be attempting to do a Time Heist variant.
http://nerdalicious.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Doctor-Who-Time-Heist-T10-9.27-pm.png.jpg
The Foretold
July 24th, 2015 - 10:48pmTo be more specific, it’s a navy blue Paul Smith shirt.
Anonymous
July 26th, 2015 - 12:07amTechnically, it is accurate because it looks black in the story, even you can’t deny that,it may be blue but watching the story without looking into it, I’m pretty sure everyone thought it was black and CO/Underground toys probably believe it to be black as well seeing as it appears black or a dark grey in virtually all photos available
Sammi Carter
July 27th, 2015 - 11:31amit’s not black, its dark navy.
MrHalloWho
July 28th, 2015 - 7:50pmI’m with the Foretold. It definitely looks blue.

DRAXTHEDESTROYER
July 24th, 2015 - 6:55pmAt least now we have a sculpt of the sonic screwdriver in closed mode.
The Living Shadow
July 24th, 2015 - 1:32pmDoesn’t look too bad, would look better with the waistcoat, but we’ve all come to that conclusion by now! I think I’ll get the Sherwood version, I’d probably have gotten it over this figure even if it had the waistcoat as the ROS costume is my 2nd favourite costume! (1st being the red coat from series 9)
DS
July 24th, 2015 - 9:16pmIt all quite promising to be honest.
I get which face expression they chose and it needs to be seen properly.
Its a reboot.
Perhaps some more promo pics/marketing would have helped and maybe if they had made the other variants available for pre-order sooner.
This is clearly the most controversial of the intended line.
This said, again better to start with the weakest contender and build up perhaps?
Unsure, but liking the enthusiasm 🙂
Ian
July 23rd, 2015 - 8:25pmBooboo have you any idea when the new F/C Tardis is out? Thanks.
booboo
July 23rd, 2015 - 8:27pmno not heard anything
first we will know is probably when it turns up in toys r us
The Silent Silent
July 23rd, 2015 - 8:21pmNot really what I was expecting as a collectors series to be honest but its better than nothing.
booboo
July 23rd, 2015 - 8:30pmFrom a business point of view I can see exactly why they have done this for “starters” to be honest
CJ
July 23rd, 2015 - 4:09pmI’m definitely getting this as I have all the other Doctors standing on a shelf! 😀
the astronaut of death
July 22nd, 2015 - 8:55pmbooboo what I don’t get if this figure is a scan of the 3.75 version then where is the waist coat/cardigan ?
booboo
July 22nd, 2015 - 9:22pmthey only scan the head, both figures are a digital downscale of capaldi’s actual face
wholords2
July 22nd, 2015 - 10:14pmThe whole figures looks like an upscale version of the 3.75″ 12th doctor, but using the shirt mould from the caretaker but with additional articulation
You can tell because all the creases are the same
Bruno B
July 23rd, 2015 - 8:04amYes, that’s because both the 3.75″ and 5″ versions use the same Capaldi scan. With digital sculpting, you start as a bigger scale (Peter Capaldi) and then you downscale to whichever scale you want, not the other way around.
Upscaling a smaller figure when you’ve got the real deal available would be counterproductive.
DS
July 23rd, 2015 - 12:53pmAgreed, hopefully readers will take note of this.
Renegade13
July 23rd, 2015 - 1:39pmThat would explain why CO have promised us 5 inch series 7 Ice warrior, Cyberman and Zygon figures, as they’ll just use the same scans they did on the 3.75 inch ones.
booboo
July 23rd, 2015 - 1:49pmA Cyberman with Cyber Danny interchangeable head, that way a lots of people will buy 2 and army builders will buy lots
Nathan
July 23rd, 2015 - 2:01pmCO have promised us these? I didnt know that – thats awesome!
booboo
July 23rd, 2015 - 2:02pmThey haven’t promised anything that i’m aware of
they have been muted but then so have many other things that will never happen now
Nathan
July 23rd, 2015 - 2:03pmOk thanks booboo – I would buy all these if they were released though 🙂
TimLord
July 22nd, 2015 - 7:51pmIs there no packaging booboo?….like when the holographic BBC shop exclusive 10th doctor figure came out please?
booboo
July 22nd, 2015 - 8:03pmyes they just dont show it
mick
July 22nd, 2015 - 6:30pmI see the release date has changed from September to the end of October now.
Ian
July 23rd, 2015 - 8:21pmThe release date has always been end of October. September is the US. I expect we will get it mid November, we never get them on time.
booboo
July 23rd, 2015 - 8:29pmthey changed it from September not long after putting it up for order
The Silent Silent
July 23rd, 2015 - 8:26pmHe is right, when you first could pre-order at FP.CO.UK, It was late September but changed in like 10 mins
EndlessTimelord
July 22nd, 2015 - 4:51pmIs this the 3.75 one scaled up to 5.5inch? Looks amazing! 😀
The Foretold
July 22nd, 2015 - 3:40pmI think it looks good and is a reasonable price. I would have personally opted to do a hand sculpted head for the Twelfth Doctor rather than a digital scan of Peter Capaldi. He is such an emotive Doctor that I think it’d be best to sculpt from screencaps.
DS
July 22nd, 2015 - 5:03pmMany of us are hoping the face will be better in person.
It is clear which face expression they tried to capture but there are elements of Capaldi’s age, characteristics and other face expressions which might not have rendered this the best version.
That said we haven’t really seen it yet.
Also, certain details might have been captured but these things can be spoiled by the paint apps.
I have pre ordered mine, wait in hope and also despite mixed opinion feel that on this occasion a measure of patience might be required with this reboot.
Ultimately, I am after a Capaldi 😀
TimeLord22
July 22nd, 2015 - 2:50pmI wonder if the sonic will actually be closed like in the picture.
Cyberman Bill
July 22nd, 2015 - 10:08pmIt is. I saw it at SDCC
TimeLord22
July 22nd, 2015 - 2:48pmI wonder if the sonic
Dalekparadigm2
July 22nd, 2015 - 11:26amIf I were to get this, I would HAVE to mod it to have a waistcoat. Could you please suggest the best way to do that (paint, other figures etc.)
Rebel Whovian
July 27th, 2015 - 10:17amI would use acrylic paint which you can get from ‘the works’ for around £4 for a big tube of one colour of paint. For the waistcoat, I would use the spare waistcoat that came with the time of the doctor set and then I would sand it down. Hope this helps:)
Dalekparadigm2
July 27th, 2015 - 1:47pmThanks. It’s a huge help 🙂
the doctor
July 22nd, 2015 - 10:33amso this could mean any 3.75 inch figures they haven’t done in 5 inch they can now do as they have done it with this one
booboo
July 22nd, 2015 - 10:37ampossibly
the doctor
July 22nd, 2015 - 10:46amscovox blitzer maybe or a new zygon or the hider
booboo
July 22nd, 2015 - 1:18pmmy money is on a Missy and 8th Doctor
it would be financially more viable to spread the cost of development over 2 scales
DS
July 22nd, 2015 - 4:54pmPlease let this be true 😀
Sylvester McCoy also has an outstanding variant (TV Movie with hat and straight/serious face) and I suppose the Eric Roberts Master.
Also, I think this is a fair analysis and hopefully a promising wager
DS
July 22nd, 2015 - 5:13pmPlease let this be true 😀
I hope this is a promising wager
John Dashwood
July 22nd, 2015 - 9:55amI have all the other 5” figures, and have ordered two of the new 12th Doctor figures – I have a couple of spare Capaldi heads from the ‘Time of the Doctor’ set [I bought three, to have the different figures], and will replace the head on one of the new figures. If it is a new sculpt, I might not – but the current 3.75 inch 12th Doctor looks to me, more like Steven Moffat than Peter Capaldi. If I don’t have to change the head, then I shall convert one to the ‘holey jumper’ look.
Moogwhocraft
July 22nd, 2015 - 11:31amtwo? which other one has been released?
booboo
July 22nd, 2015 - 1:16pmthey mean they have bought 2 of the same
DannyTheNerd
July 22nd, 2015 - 9:19amas this is a FPI exclusive does this mean the other 12th doctor’s, Clara and the curator are also a FPI Exclusive?
booboo
July 22nd, 2015 - 9:21amnot all of them no
some of these figure are being marketed by character but we dont know how yet until the official info is released
DannyTheNerd
July 22nd, 2015 - 9:22amI see 🙂
Cool Salsa
July 22nd, 2015 - 1:07pmWould not be surprised if some go to the BBC shop or Toys r Us.
DannyTheNerd
July 22nd, 2015 - 7:06pmYeah one of the new 12th doctors will be probably be a toys r us exclusive. Dunno about BBC shop tho
Oliver Crabtree
July 22nd, 2015 - 8:06amMay I ask BooBoo, does this figure have red lining? If not thats just pathetic!
booboo
July 22nd, 2015 - 8:23amyes it does
i am not a dalek, i am human!
July 22nd, 2015 - 1:27amJust realised that argos have a Into the Dalek gift set type thing that includes 3 Daleks (one being Rusty thats motorised), 12th Doctor and Clara oswald and the time zone play set for into the dalek, can anyone tell me which variants of the doctor and clara come with it, as the pic shows normal costume for the doctor and the time of the doctor costume for clara. Does anyone know if this is right, as im thinking of gettin it.
The price was £49.99 and has now been knocked down to £24.99.
Thatchos
July 22nd, 2015 - 2:19amYep. What you see in the pictures is what’s in the set. The 12th Doctor is the standard wave 3 release, and Clara is the standard wave 4 release.
i am not a dalek, i am human!
July 22nd, 2015 - 10:41pmThank u very much for ur response 🙂 and sorry to everyone for going off topic of the 12th doctor figure
Jdog
July 22nd, 2015 - 12:30amWhen I saw the first few pictures, I didn’t even notice the lack of waistcoat and it didn’t make any difference to me. After seeing the official image though, I do notice that something looks missing but the Twelfth Doctor’s outfit is already quite minimalist looking anyway and you can only see the actual red lining if it’s flicked open in certain positions such as the first promo picture, plus I first assumed he just unbuttoned the whole outfit.
