Doctor Who follows the adventures of the last Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey who simply goes by the name “The Doctor”. At the end of the 2013 season, The Doctor regenerated into his new form and new personality, and is portrayed by legendary Scottish actor Peter Capaldi.
This new incarnation, the Twelfth Doctor, is a spiky, brusque, pragmatic, yet funny, passionate and fearless character who travels with his companion, Clara Oswald. His adventures with (and without) Clara in the 2014 season lead him to make tough and ruthless decisions that make him question his character and the value of his travels.
This all new 5 inch tall figure showcases the new look The Doctor takes on after the regeneration, featuring his now signature dark blue Crombie-style coat with red lining, dark blue trousers, a long collared white shirt buttoned to the top with no tie, and brogue boots. He also comes with his trusty sonic screwdriver.

July 22nd, 2015 - 12:19amNot a huge fan of the Capaldi Doctor (seeing how series 9 goes down first), but this figure looks really good!
1. Its a five inch figure….. Yay!
2. It looks a bit younger than peter.
3. Good resemblance of costume.
4. Sonic accessory.
5. Bonus if its classed as collector figure.
Only downside is the price really, but obviously the amount of work thats gone into it, kinda makes it worth it.
cant decide
July 22nd, 2015 - 12:09amI would like some advice if its possible, i am in two minds about gettin the Clara (TTOTD) version, matt’s doctor and peter capaldi doctor in 3.75 scale, but they would only be to sit on a display shelf as i am a collector, but cant decide whether or not to get them.
On one hand, all the others i have are 5 inch, so these would be tiny in comparison, but on the other hand, they are for display only as i wouldnt by the in scale TARDIS and only 3 of the enemies look good to me: skovox, the mummy and maybe a dalek.
Must admit tho, like the AOTD Amy Pond.
Id b greatful if anyone can help me decide.

July 22nd, 2015 - 11:08amI think we will get the central characters in 5inch, like we are getting 12 and Clara now. I’m also a collector, and I got a 3.75inch Clara, so I got a 11th Doctor, Ice Warrior and Cyberman. I mainly wanted Clara as she was a companion, and now we are getting her in the best scale! So I regret wasting 6.99.
Hope that was helpful!

July 29th, 2015 - 8:49pmThis is five inch

July 21st, 2015 - 10:21pmWonder what happened to the other 5″ figures that were shown???
I have a feeling the 4th Doctor Curator Figure & Painting will be a late SDCC Set like last years “The Impossible Set”

July 21st, 2015 - 9:25pmPs. Its £18.49 with postage, I expect it to be £19.99 in the Manchester store. They were more expensive than other FPI’s with the Time of the Doctor set.
MrHalloWho
July 27th, 2015 - 11:42amGreat. That’s the easiest FP store to get to from where I live.
Ian
July 21st, 2015 - 9:23pmLooks like they made this ages ago then downscaled it to the 3.75″ version, looks very similar. I will get one 12th Doctor, want to see what the rest are.

the astronaut of death
July 21st, 2015 - 8:48pmThis is it isn’t it?
DS
July 21st, 2015 - 9:07pmCurious, although I would love one with a waist coat, there is mixed opinion regarding whether they should have gone with a full regular costume or as they have done a standard sculpt to cater for the variations in season 8..
If they did include the waistcoat would people be divided over whether he has the jacket open or the top button/s done up?
To add to this there are at least two further costume variations on the way for season 9.
As for the head sculpt in some respects this still remains to be seen.
DoctorWhoFan1963
July 21st, 2015 - 8:32pmLooks absolutely terrible in my opinion, I will not be wasting my money on this figure.
Anonymous
July 21st, 2015 - 10:54pmAgreed! Not a particularly good figure with a sonic, in a not very particularly good box all for £17? Where’s the exceptionally designed Collectors Series box packaging & the slew of accessories?

July 21st, 2015 - 8:24pmLooks awesome. Kinda disapointed there is no waist coat but it’ll do 🙂

July 21st, 2015 - 6:54pmBooboo when do you think the other variants will be revealed?
booboo
July 21st, 2015 - 6:55pmi have no idea, i thought we might have had some info by now

July 21st, 2015 - 6:30pmFANTASTIC hope we get surprised and get it early. I won’t hold my hopes up though. Looks great. i prefer this face to time of doctor set though his eyebrows looked mad on that figure
RORY DOCTOR RIVER POND
July 21st, 2015 - 6:15pmIs it likely this will be reduced? Im worried if i wait too long it’ll be out of stock
booboo
July 21st, 2015 - 6:17pmvery unlikely to be reduced
RORY DOCTOR RIVER POND
July 21st, 2015 - 6:23pm🙁 Is there place to apply promotional codes to the order on the site? 18 quid is a lot for ONE figure
booboo
July 21st, 2015 - 6:24pmI dont thinks so I think they took it off
Alex
July 21st, 2015 - 7:50pmIt is a lot I agree, but it’s worth it for a few reasons, Mainly the 5” line is dead, so it takes a lot of money for them to reanimate it’s corpse and give us treats like this, second they’re considered more collectors items, the last few 5” range figures have had amazing packaging and decent quality figures (Mostly) I agree it is a lot of money for one figure, but I think it’s worth it.
Anonymous
July 21st, 2015 - 7:58pmI thought this was just 4 variants of the 12th Doctor in 5″ format. Nothing about it scream’s Collectors Series to me?
DS
July 21st, 2015 - 9:09pm‘Collectors series’ is marked on the boxes. It is generally regarded that this is their approach to reboot the 5 inch range.
Anonymous
July 21st, 2015 - 10:50pmNot a very auspicious start for a supposed ‘Collectors Series’ then?
DS
July 22nd, 2015 - 4:58pmNo it isn’t, there are reasons for this but I am inclined to agree with your analysis.
I hope the head sculpt is superior in reality. Such a serious shouldn’t command patience but some might be needed here.
In terms of the reboot, It is simply a start.
DS
July 22nd, 2015 - 5:12pmNo it isn’t. There are reasons for this however, yet despite this overall I am inclined to agree.
Many of us live in hope regarding the face sculpt and are perhaps extending a measure of patience regarding the reboot.
The curator is one of the best elements, perhaps the flagship of the reboot but ultimately we need to see the figures first.
There is joy, question, doubt, sadness and hope and much more to be had here, kind of typical of Doctor Who 😀
SonicTheHedgehogRules
July 21st, 2015 - 5:40pmThey’re really going for the no waistcoat look, eh? Well, I’ll wait for the varient ones to pop up before getting this one. Suppose it’s better than nothing. And hey! They made the sonic closed! At least they did something great here.
Doctorwho20159619
July 21st, 2015 - 5:54pmThey’re all variants … Including this
mark belsom
July 21st, 2015 - 5:39pmJust pre-ordered the Capaldi, thought the price was reasonable. Was expecting it to cost more.
RORY DOCTOR RIVER POND
July 21st, 2015 - 5:25pmI wouldn’t pay anymore than 15 for it, so will probably get it. How long does the 12 percent off last for? 16 is a streeeeeeeetch
mick
July 21st, 2015 - 5:25pmI will buy this but preferred the head you got in the time of the doctor set.
Biggest mistake
July 21st, 2015 - 5:00pmIt dose not look like him
Doctor_Number 10
July 21st, 2015 - 5:09pmLook almost identical to the 3.75 figure of twelve.
Number 6
July 21st, 2015 - 5:15pmI might agree with you but I would wait to have a real close look when buying from any shop. They might have enlarged from 3.75″ to 5″. It looks good.
Doctorwho20159619
July 21st, 2015 - 5:38pmIt’ll be better when you have it in hand
RORY DOCTOR RIVER POND
July 21st, 2015 - 6:09pmI think it’s cos they haven’t added any wrinkles… Sorry Peter…
Thomas Chapman
July 21st, 2015 - 4:40pmI personally think we should be blooming grateful for what we have here.. So what it doesn’t have a waist coat? if people don’t buy these figures we will not get a collectors Series or any 5 inch figures! you might need to live with that.
Worse comes to worse – Get some Milliput – Sculpt a Cardigan/waistcoat and put it on yourself! Happy Fans!
Sorry to be like this but it annoys me when I read comments on the line of people moaning about 5 inch figures which Al has fighted to get released.
Trenzalore
July 21st, 2015 - 5:13pmWe shouldn’t really need to feel grateful for a figure, we as the customer shouldn’t need to think ‘I have to buy this figure or blank will happen’. or have to improve it when we buy it. If they want us to buy it they need to make us want to buy it (which to be fair they are sort of doing by showing it at SDCC and the 12% off) but the addition of a waistcoat or an accessory would make me buy this in a flash but for now I’ll wait to see the others.
Doctorwho20159619
July 21st, 2015 - 5:42pmThe whole load of the collectors series Twelfth Doctor figures are meant to be variants of the costume, this being from the caretaker. I’m pleased we’re getting 5″ 12th Doctors at least
MrHalloWho
July 21st, 2015 - 4:34pmWhy did FPI use someone’s fan art as a background to the 12th Doctor figure?

July 21st, 2015 - 4:34pmthey might not have realised it was, or maybe they asked them
DS
July 21st, 2015 - 9:12pmI have to admit perhaps a poor show on the marketing – the fan art was a bash of a selected costume and I think river songs screwdriver or something like that.
Perhaps some more promo shots on the pre-order page would have abated some of the concerns about the head sculpt.
As we know there were limitations on footage from SDCC
MrHalloWho
July 27th, 2015 - 11:45amYeah, it’s River’s sonic. Also, when did the Doctor give his sonic to River? It’s a modified version of the 10th Doctor’s, but the only two he had in that style were S1-S2 and S2-S5.
Husstle
July 21st, 2015 - 4:31pmGlad to see some 5″ figures coming along and i hope this is the first of many
Doctor_Number 10
July 21st, 2015 - 4:19pmWhere do I buy in the U.S.

July 21st, 2015 - 4:21pmbig bad toy store or wait for whona to get it, I wish they would do pre orders

July 21st, 2015 - 4:32pmGreat, Thanks booboo.
Sammi Carter
July 21st, 2015 - 4:18pmwithout a doubt, this is one of the worst figures ever produced by CO. The purple one is the only one worth buying.
Captain jack
July 21st, 2015 - 4:29pmdo you have this figure then?
Stike
July 21st, 2015 - 4:33pmThe polka-dot one is also accurate so it is one to consider
Cyberman Bill
July 21st, 2015 - 5:42pmThey look better in person. Also, either buy it or don’t buy it. People complain about the 3.75 and say they want the 5″ back,… Then when they start releasing 5″ figures, it seems a lot of those same people start complaining about those. It seems that some people will never be happy.
Dalek Smith
July 21st, 2015 - 2:38pmThink I’ll hold fire till purple shirt, bit annoyed about the lack of the waistcoat
Anonymous
July 21st, 2015 - 3:52pmhe’s hardly ever worn one
Taro
July 21st, 2015 - 6:07pmWith the white shirt, He’s worn either a cardigan or a waistcoat. He’s only worn it without either briefly in the Caretaker, and in an upcoming Series 9 episode, though this is inaccurate as his hair is much longer in Series 9
Dalek the Supreme
July 21st, 2015 - 2:34pmI’m sorry, but REALLY??? No red inside the jacket
David
July 21st, 2015 - 3:27pmyou not read the listing?
quote: now signature dark blue Crombie-style coat with red lining
timelord63
July 21st, 2015 - 5:07pmThey might of quoted that but looking at the picture it does not look as if there is red lining in coat. Suppose we’ll know for sure when figure is released.
Cyberman Bill
July 21st, 2015 - 5:43pmThere is a red lining!!! At least the figures at SDCC had them so I’m sure these will have them. Relax.
Dalek the Supreme
July 22nd, 2015 - 4:40amI must have missed it. I didn’t really see any red lining on the inside of the jacket on the picture of the figure, so that confused me. Either way, I’m disappointed with the lack of a waistcoat.
the astronaut of death
July 21st, 2015 - 2:15pmI find it astonishing and I think that UT and character should be ashamed that in the past they have produced such great figures (war Doctor , time of the Doctor set) and now they have got to the this …… People are even planning to spend there OWN money and figure parts just to make this figure better. But they should not have to . This figure should already be on top form . What kind business produces something that people are going to buy but then spend there OWN money to improve it. The figure shouldn’t need any improvements but sadly it does and we are not the ones who should be acting to this errors , UT and character are.
booboo
July 21st, 2015 - 2:20pmCustomizers take apart and repaint even the best of figures
where does it need improvement, its an on screen variant that actually existed
I dont remember this much griping when toy r us had an exclusive variant with just a different coloured bow tie, this is an entire shirt
Doctorpond393
July 21st, 2015 - 3:34pmIt was seen on screen? What episode is it from?
DoctorRiverTARDIS
July 21st, 2015 - 3:47pmIt Is from the beginning of The Caretaker, when The Doctor and Clara are chained up against 2 stones on the alien planet
Bruno B
July 21st, 2015 - 4:00pmI personally like it like that to be honest.
Cyberman Bill
July 21st, 2015 - 5:47pmYou know what… Let’s just kill the 5″ line all together!!! Waaah!!
STOP COMPLAINING!!
People complain about the 3.75…. Now people complain about the 5″!! Ugh!! It’s getting old. Just because the figure isn’t made to how you like it… You’ll never please everyone
DS
July 21st, 2015 - 6:33pmHopefully, as the 5 inch series is re-established/ the collectors series is established elements will be ironed out.
There are a set of circumstances well captured across multiple posts that have contributed to this state of affairs albeit less than ideal.
CO/UT appear to have adopted a strategy with a view to building & maintaining a 5 inch range, this accounts for some of the differences in quality.
The figure may also be better in person, this remains to be seen.
This is a reboot and I am really pleased to have been able to pre order a 12th Doctor like others for my collection.
Like many I have hopes for the future of this range.
