Never pre-ordered something so fast in my life. Slightly mad that they changed artist yet again, nevertheless that front cover is absolutely stunning. Also delighted with the inclusion of the bonus disc, very nice touch.

Webster’s work is usually awful too, I’m surprised at how good this one looks.

I agree, he’s a marvellous artist and that comment verged on the nasty. I think he’s come under fire for using some over-used publicity pics but that’s not his fault, there just aren’t that many available.

It’s the old target covers problem, limited photo references. Artwork looks fine me.

I’d love to get this but I’ve not got any of the others, probably can’t get the rest now. And I know people have said it’s not likely to happen but would they ever do the new series in “collection” style packaging. Because that makes me want to hold off anyway, even though I’ve pretty much missed out so far..

My poor bank account! Fortunately these don’t sell out straight away unlike the Marvel steelbooks which go within 12-24 hours on Zavvi and cost £10 more! Anyway still looks amazing one of the best so far, if not the best. So glad Zoom lowered their prices -couldn’t recommend them enough!

I think the back has a bit too much going on, but I love the use of colors, the steelbook art really pops. Got my pre-order in already, so happy to see this coming so soon after Series 4. Hope it sells well so we can get Series 5 soon too!

I wasn’t originally gonna order the Specials steelbook as I have the standard bluray version, however now that I see it has ‘Dreamland’ and ‘The Infinite Quest’ animated adventures I decided to order it 🙂

Right, I already own the specials on blu Ray and the artwork is a bit weird around David Tennants head

but It saves me from buying the animated stories themselves straight from Germany so I am happy

The artwork shows that he is regenerating. So it’s not weird.

It’s the first of the new series steelbooks to have an extra exclusive disc. The animated episodes Infinite Quest and Dreamland have never been released on blu ray in the UK before.

We need a blu ray release of an adventure in space and time in the UK too

An Adventure In Space and Time was released with very limited 50th set. I can see it being on there again if they re-release it on Steelbook.

We might eventually get Twice Upon A Time included with Series 10 if we get it on Steelbook again too.

Here’s hoping. That 50th anniversary set needs a standard dvd/blu-ray edition.

I think it’s the Macra Terror, because it was really well done and it brought me Patrick Troughton (favourite classic Doctor of mine) in a story I haven’t seen before. So I already preordered “The Faceless Ones” and I hope they will keep them coming.

Have to say I’m not see keen on the artwork on this one… The last few have done a great job at looking a little bit abstract, like an oil painting. Not quite hit the mark on this one for me. I think my main problem is the back cover. Also wishing they had rebranded these as ‘The Tenth Doctor Specials.’ This would have lead us nicely into ‘The Eleventh Doctor Specials’ with Day and Time included. I’ll still buy it though and I hope they move quickly on to Matt’s era now.

To be fair, that is the issue with using different artists each release (with the exception being Series 1 and 2) – everyone’s styles are different.

I have asked them 2 perfectly straight forward questions and got a nonsense reply to both that was nothing to do with what i actually asked.

Although i stand to loose a lot of money because of their demise i’m quite happy to support them again if they reply with some sense which they have not done so so far.

something to do with the site and their T&C’s.

I only ask as I was in hmv yesterday. They said that the site should be back up in full by hopefully Sept but definitely by the end of the year. In terms of preorders they still only take money on dispatch and it’s still free delivery on orders over £10.

I was wondering why James Bond was on the back for a second, I totally forgot Timothy Dalton was in Doctor Who it’s been flippin ages since I’ve watched these specials. I got the normal Blu-ray set which I’m totally happy with as my body is metal and steelbooks just stick to me which is really annoying.
