The colorful tin box (measuring approximately 8 5/8-inches wide x 6 3/4-inches tall x 4-inches deep) is magnificent enough by itself, but inside you’ll find retro-style action figures of William Hartnell’s First Doctor and Matt Smith’s Eleventh Doctor! The Doctors stand about 8-inches tall and feature real fabric clothing, accessories, and multiple points of articulation. Carry them all with you wherever your intergalactic travels take you!

bbp-sdcc-2013-2

The First Doctor is easily identified in his fancy buttoned vest, black coat, black-and-white checkered pants, and black shoes, carrying his walking stick. Fans of William Hartnell and the exciting adventures that first brought Doctor Who to the world will welcome him into their collection with open arms!

Matt Smith’s popular Eleventh Doctor is dressed in his trademark red bowtie, suspenders, white shirt, dark pants, brown tweed jacket (complete with elbow patches!), and shoes. He brings his Sonic Screwdriver along as an accessory, of course.

Produced by the BBC, Doctor Who is the longest-running sci-fi TV series in the world. The award-winning show presents the adventures of a time traveler known simply as “the Doctor.” Along with his companions, this mysterious Time Lord journeys through time and space using his TARDIS, which appears from the outside to be an ordinary police phone booth.

Yes, did that about a week ago – Some of these seller’s on ebay really go for your cash!

just wish EE would offer slower but cheaper shipping rates, its the shipping costs that kills it for many of their products

and you have to watch for the import tax if it gets picket up

They look good, but I don’t collect the retro figures. Even still, nice to see characters not from the Tom Baker era, (Though that was a good era) especially with the original Doctor along with my favorite Doctor being introduced. I hope they release monsters from their eras like the Ironside Daleks, Victory Daleks, original Daleks, Menoptera, Sensorites, Weeping Angels, Whispermen, etc.

i cant even visualise what it might look like

      June 20th, 2013 - 11:49pm

That just makes it more intriguing. Thinking back on Planet of the Daleks, one wonders what it could possibly be if not grey, clear, or the Supreme.

I have all 8 figures plus the TARDIS set. It seems whilst FP are behind most shops (even with their own Titan products) on this occasion they were ahead. It is probably down to who the supplier favours, and this can come from supplier/buyer relationships which are complex.

It is great to see these announced, although these days, less and less things advertised on this site make it into a shop you can walk in and buy.

In a slightly perverse way, I was hoping that they would just stick to 4th Doctor figures, as they had done to this point.

    • The Monitor

      June 20th, 2013 - 6:41pm

In terms of what they look like. I don’t so much see the monster/villain ones as dolls. They are large figures. However the Leela doll is absolutely hideous because of the exposed joints. I know they are drawing parallels to the old toys, but there would have been so much scope with two Romana dolls and a vast number of glorious outfits to permutate over time.

I’m not interested in these kind of figures anyway, but Eleven looks quite bad. The clothes are ill-fitting. The First Doctor is really great considering what this range is supposed to be.

These are probably prototypes so you can (roughly) how the finished figures look and so that the manufacturers can build up some interest in the items.

The 1st Doctor needs a bit more grey in his hair and eyebrows I think plus they should’ve given the 11th Doctor a longer jacket i think.

i have to be perfectly honest here-i’ve never really thought dr who and dolls mix that well
i’ve always thought that the 12″ range looked a bit odd,
the clothes don’t seem to fit onto these dolls and it makes them look disturbing

Had mine on Order from FP (& the Tardis) for over a year & a half now. I have contacted them & Bif Bang Pow over the delay. Bif Bang Pow said a shipment was sent but FP denied it? Whereas other people say they have seen them in the UK? Last time I was in FP in London in March this year they weren’t on the shelves then?
