January 27th, 2023 - 7:53pmLooks really interesting. I’ll never forget the thrill of those early ‘Doctor Who Weekly’ strips. Those opening frames of ‘The Iron Legion’ were magical. We were so lucky to have him. Obviously went on to great things, ‘Watchmen’ one of the greatest comics ever!

January 27th, 2023 - 4:53pmI remember meeting Dave Gibbons at the London Comic Marts in Methodist Central Hall in the eighties during my teens – He was drawing Doctor Who for Marvel and 2000AD back then – before Watchmen came out. I’m sure this is going to be a very interesting book to read. He’s one of Britain’s best comic book artists with such a distinctive style of his own.

January 27th, 2023 - 5:55pmI was at that too. My first convention. There was a snow speeder from Empire Strikes Back. Ray Harryhausen and Caroline Munro were there too.
Forgive me if I’m wrong but isn’t that where DG and Alan Moore first met?

I had the pleasure of meeting Dave Gibbons when he came to do a talk at my school back in 2008 about his life and career, just before the Watchmen movie came out – he stuck around and did autographs afterwards too. I can’t remember all too much but I imagine the book could be a good refresher 🙂
