Doctor Who Playstation Home – Full Information

Doctor Who Playstation Home

For more information and image gallery visit www.doctorwho.tv

With thanks to BBC Worldwide…

From March 27, Doctor Who will come to life like never before in the virtual world of PlayStation Home – offering more than 31 million gamers the chance to interact with iconic elements, environments and costumes from the series.

You can deck yourself out in the Eleventh Doctor’s classic tweed jacket and bowtie outfit, and even accessorise with your very own Sonic Screwdriver. For prospective companions, there’s River Song’s catsuit, complete with PDA accessory – but, please don’t peek at her diary.

If you fancy being an alien, you can become a prehistoric Silurian or suit up as an ominous Silent. You can even acquire a Cybermat as a companion that will follow you around PlayStation Home (nanovirus – fortunately – not included).

No Doctor Who experience would be complete without the TARDIS, which will be available as both a private estate and clubhouse where you can join your fellow fans and explore the wonders of the TARDIS – and trust us, it’s BIG.

The expansive TARDIS private space and clubhouse is unlike anything Home fans have seen before and comes equipped with a LOOT Active Camera so you and your friends can capture your adventures and seamlessly upload them to your YouTube account. Fans can catch video content and shop for Doctor Who items – both virtual and real – via LOOT’s Entertainment on Demand system.

“We’re really excited to be bringing this much-loved series to social and virtual worlds,” said Simon Hutson, senior vice president digital development at BBC Worldwide.

“We are committed to preserving the spirit and aesthetic of Doctor Who while introducing this historic franchise to PlayStationHome” said David Sterling, vice president of business development, LOOT Entertainment. “It’s the same Doctor Who millions have loved for 50 years—with a virtual, interactive, and social twist.”

In celebration of the series’ 50th Anniversary, additional Doctor Who themed virtual goods, environments and social experiences will be added to Doctor Who on PlayStation Home throughout 2013.

So, what are you waiting for? Visit PlayStation Home and the LOOT store and begin your wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey adventures today.

360 maybe but i have just researched about the new 720 and the PS4 and i have got to say (price wise, game play and memory)the PS4 is going to be 10 times better! (only because the 720 has had a big delay as the factory in India who made them had a massive malfunction with the chips).

  • DOCTOR WHO ONE

    March 25th, 2013 - 3:07pm

Anyone else reminded of a Doctor Who game that came out in the early 80’s / 90’s that had a Dalek moving around inside the corridors of the Tardis ?.

And who exactly is that man and woman in the video ?, cos it sure aint the 11th Doctor and River Song, plus this should have the new Tardis Console Room, not the previous 2010 version [talk about keeping up to date].

It’s probably a TARDIS environment that you can purchase so that you can hang out with your playstation network friends online. They will probably have character skins as well for your personal avatar. A few years ago they had something similar for Star Wars. You could hang out in the Cantina with other network members. You could also buy different costumes for your avatar, like stormtroopers or Boba Fett.

    • Mels

Yes, it’s the first of 3. Though I’m wondering what’s happening with the sequels to the game now, since the ps4 has been announced and isn’t backwards compatible. (Whether they’ll release the rest for ps4, or stick with the ps3).
