April 24th, 2021 - 2:49pmNice to see these are continuing. I think this one completes the 80’s annuals.
Every Terraqueous release so far, has been top quality.

April 24th, 2021 - 12:03pmI already feel like I’ve slipped into a annoying parallel world, this is not helping.

April 24th, 2021 - 11:49amHa! They are not… I repeat… not cybermen! They are cyberons. A completely different creation… honestly…
In case you are wondering the facebook page is making a point about them not being cybermen and considering the thank you to bbv…

April 25th, 2021 - 11:35amOther than the dalek plunger (maybe I’m just silly about type of thing) I think it looks really cool!

April 24th, 2021 - 9:52amWhat an awesome cover paralleling that other annual! The dalek plunger Mel’s holding took me some time to see though! 😀

March 3rd, 2021 - 10:48amThe reason ‘Dr Who’ is used rather than ‘Doctor Who’ was explained a year or so ago by Terraqueous.
And that is the early annuals (1966- 1979), used ‘Dr’, and because their first annual to fill the gap, was the 1972 annual.
So like an old broken chamelion circuit, it stuck and became a regular thing.

March 3rd, 2021 - 8:42amWish the original annuals from 1966-86 could be reprinted somehow, as well as The Invasion from Space, The Dalek Books 1964-66, The Dalek Annuals 1976-79 and the K9 Annual 1983. A reprint of the Dalek Pocketbook would also be great!
In regards to these unofficial annuals, I guess that they could get away with a 1990 annual?

March 6th, 2021 - 8:46pmYes, 1990 would have been published in 1989. In fact they could probably get away with a 1991 annual as well. You could argue it might have been published before the cancellation announcement. I’d like a 1997 annual featuring the Eighth doctor. It would have been published after the tv movie broadcast in 96. Oh, and yes I’d love reprints of the old annuals.

January 21st, 2021 - 11:39pmI know that they are nostalgically following the old World Distributors ‘house style’, but one thing about the late 80’s annuals is that JNT would have insisted on the full ‘Doctor’ was used as opposed to the contraction – he did for the 1980 annual onwards. He was very particular about that!
These are great though and the more recent ones have consistently better illustrations I think.

January 22nd, 2021 - 12:45amThere may be an issue with copyright that using dr rather than doctor gets round

January 21st, 2021 - 6:19pmHope they use the correct logo for 1988, anyway why didn’t we get annuals at the end of the 80’s I would have loved a 7th Doctor annual as a kid. It’s not like there were no Doctor Who merch Dapol was doing quite well.

January 21st, 2021 - 6:56pmThey may be using the old one on the credible basis that the production team wouldn’t have let the annual makers know about the change of logo before the annual was designed and completed in the summer of 1987. Publicity departments and licencees weren’t often on the same page until recent decades.

January 21st, 2021 - 7:52pmMichael is right, the annual released in 1987 (the 1988 annual) would have predated the series and the new logo so i don’t mind. One thing is will this actually be a colin Baker mel annual?

January 21st, 2021 - 8:09pmThe more I think about it the more I think this may be a colin Baker annual. If it had come out when it was supposed to there would have been no McCoy material to include as it would have been published months before the series aired. I hope it’s a McCoy book but I’ll happily buy it. We should get a 1990 annual for McCoy and I’d love a 1996/7 mcgann one.

January 21st, 2021 - 10:32pmThis organisation has done a 1989 annual with Ace and the seventh Doctor. This one will be sixth Doctor and Mel

January 22nd, 2021 - 1:04amYes I didn’t think of that that’s probably all true!
I think I’m used to everything being in sync and on brand straight away before a new series airs now but years ago one hand didn’t know what the other was doing at times.

January 23rd, 2021 - 5:28pmFrom Richards comments in the facebook post, it will be Six and Mel.
“‘time and the rani’ was broadcast on the 7th September 1987. That same month a 1988 annual would have been released, but work on that would have been completed between June and July 1987. At that point we would have been aware of McCoys casting, but not his portrayel or costume. Making the annual a Sixth Doctor & Mel annual.”
Michael Pearson
January 28th, 2021 - 4:45pmInteresting, but McCoy’s costume was actually revealed in April 1987 in a press call during the location filming of Time and the Rani. Also the 1982 annual featured Davison but craftily only showed his head in the artwork as the costume wasnt revealed before the annual was completed in summer of 81.
