City of Death Figure Set Signed Edition

City of Death Figure Set Signed Edition

This item is available from www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk

The Fourth Doctor and Romana II are in Paris investigating a fracture in time. During a visit to the Louvre to see the Mona Lisa, the Doctor purloins from a stranger, Countess Scarlioni, a bracelet that is actually an alien scanner device. The trail leads to the home of Count Scarlioni, who is selling duplicate Mona Lisas to fund time experiments – all originals!

The Count is revealed as an alien called Scaroth, last of the Jagaroth race. He was splintered in time when his ship exploded above primeval Earth. His intention is to go back in time to prevent the destruction of his ship.

Realising that the Jagaroth spaceship exploding started life on Earth, the Doctor and Romana race back in time to stop the Count’s plan.

Just received this today: No idea what number mine is as the card is stuck behind the Count & I can’t see it? But up close the Julian Glover likeness is excellent!

There’s a way to find out what number you have without open it

How? . . . And do we know what’s on the back of the card?

I’m from Italy so i’ll try to explain. Take the set and go under a source of light. As you can see there are 2 sides of the clear plastic pachaging: one at the front(bigger) and one at the top(smaller). You have to look at the space between the Mona lisa and the count shoulders through the top clear plastic: there should be a hole inside, in the moulded plastic. Through it, if you angle the set properly, you should be able to see the number, which as you know is printed at the top right of the card. mine is 328

    • McGann is the Doctor.

      October 28th, 2011 - 4:15pm

No, the brig from Dr Who and the Silurians or Terror of the Autons would be much better.

They still need to make the Anthony Ainley Master figure, one that has the main costume. ❗ 😀 would buy that one in a flash.

LOOKS ? It IS good !

If I were a fan of that story I would be so excited to get this set, but I haven’t seen it nor do I want to, so I just want the Doctor. ;D

But my tastes are the exception rather than the norm, in Dr Who fandom. 😉

      October 28th, 2011 - 4:18pm

I know, I did watch some of it on youtube, and was amazed to see John Cleese was in it (for a bit). This was amazing for me because I’ve seen fawlty towers alot. 😀

Unfortunately, I was appauled by this guy who finds old-who/Classic Who boring and uneventful, says that nothing ever really happens in it.

I thought he was terribly mis-informed, he said that City of Death was the only “good” episode and that I should watch it. I could go on about him for hours, but it doesn’t matter.

listen booboo i have seen that quite a few of your comments have stated something like sellers arnt really stating they are customs properly or something like that, do you mean all the sellers that have been making custom matt football doctors and astronauts from the character building set 1 and not really stating that they’re customs

Yes. i have seen people selling roman rory’s saying they are “rare” and brand new out of packet but not stating they are customs, i have seen people selling the Tescos astronaut as the impossible astronaut and Rare specially made football Doctors which is just a hash up of the tesco set which any one can make so yes there are a lot or people trying to take advantage of those who may not realise what they are.
