Toy Fair 2020 News Round up 5.5″ figures and Construction Kits
Its that time of year again and our annual visit to the toy fair proved worthwhile.
On display at the Character stand were:
- 13th Doctor TARDIS
- Judoon with Gun
- Reconnaissance Dalek (with Dalek mutant accessory)
- Graham O’brien
- The Thirteenth Doctor (with bag and sonic screwdriver accessories) purple top
These items are now available to order from www.forbiddenplanet.com
They will also available to order at a later date from www.character-online.com
These are due in late February, Figures have an RRP of £12.99 and the (lights and sound) Tardis £24.99
Also on display were Yaz and Ryan who will be included in an upcoming 13th Doctor B&M set!
The 13th Doctor Sonic Screwdriver was also on display and it should be noted everything is now in the “Classic Blue” style guide, as per the B&M sets.
One of the good things about the toy fair is that you come across things that you knew nothing about and this year it was 3 metal construction kits due towards the end of the year.
These kits are big and include The Tardis, K9 and a Dalek. They may look a little basic to some but we are back to the good old days of, well you know, those construction sets we all loved. These are great.
On a side note we spent a good, and very rewarding few hours with Eaglemoss outside of the event.

January 21st, 2020 - 3:27pmAny clue who will be selling these???? Can’t really be bothered to do the “b and m dash” on new series range. Nothing wrong with them and the tardis is a must but I’m not driving hundreds of miles again lol
The Destroyer of Worlds
January 21st, 2020 - 3:33pmThe regular wave (w/ 13, Graham, Judoon, Dalek & TARDIS) should be released to regular retailers or comic shops.
The Yaz & Ryan (& an unknown figure) will be released to B&M only in a 3 pack.
Rhys
January 21st, 2020 - 4:07pmthe unknown figure’s gonna be Benni, i’m calling it now
Anonymous
January 21st, 2020 - 5:12pmWhere’s my benni?
Anonymous
January 21st, 2020 - 6:18pmI really hope that the unknown figure will be someone like Tim Shaw or perhaps Grace, because that would be awesome…
Anonymous
January 21st, 2020 - 3:10pmShame about there being no news on the Classic front. Hoping there’s still something set for Feb on that front.
DoctorPond393
January 21st, 2020 - 3:13pmClassic figures haven’t had a general market since around 2013, the only ones we get now are the B&M sets.
booboo
January 21st, 2020 - 4:07pmYou will get classics at b&m
The Ergon
January 21st, 2020 - 3:07pmI assume 13ths TARDIS is hollow or is there any inlay sticker showing console?
Doctor What
January 21st, 2020 - 3:27pmInlay sticker showing the series 12 control room
The Ergon
January 21st, 2020 - 3:57pmWell if thats true that would be great and a return to the TARDIS releases from 2005+ and would be a good idea to release future TARDIS’ this way again. The hollow ones weren,t the same even with sound effects. Although weren,t the 7th and 4th underground toys through Character. Its that long ago since I sold both of mine.
Luke
January 21st, 2020 - 5:01pmThere was no inlay sticker that we saw. It was just hollow.
The Ergon
January 21st, 2020 - 5:42pmOk no change then, would have been nice. A little disappointed. Doctor What must have been ill informed.
The Destroyer of Worlds
January 21st, 2020 - 12:53pmHow’s the situation with the approval of the images going?
booboo
January 21st, 2020 - 12:55pm“After lunch” but bear in mind we are 100 miles from home and on phones so we may not be able post them instantly
We are also seeing other people this time

January 21st, 2020 - 3:46pmWhen is the Imogen coming ?
Jamie D
January 21st, 2020 - 3:54pmImogen will be here soon but I’m not sure about the images.
The Destroyer of Worlds
January 21st, 2020 - 3:57pmI might be dumb but what’s the ‘Imogen’?

January 21st, 2020 - 3:59pmA wrong spelling
Exterminator
January 21st, 2020 - 12:45pmI love the idea of being able to open up the Dalek to put the mutant inside. That’s really cool. It’s a must have figure for me and I’ll definitely get 13’s Tardis too.
Anonymous
January 21st, 2020 - 4:51pmI assume, its simply a dalek mutant that can be attatched to other characters, as seen in the epidode, rather than one that can be placed inside the dalek itself…
Cook
January 21st, 2020 - 12:33pmBeen waiting for the new TARDIS for ages so really excited for this!!! Will probably pick up the judoon and dalek too.

January 21st, 2020 - 12:22pmYes! Can’t wait
booboo
January 21st, 2020 - 12:04pmOne thing to note everything ( inc sonic) is now on the blue style guide packaging ( like the b&m stuff)
WhovianLife
January 21st, 2020 - 12:15pmSo we won’t be seeing packaging like the 13th Doctor figure had? Also did they mention any sonic screwdriver changes?
Anonymous
January 21st, 2020 - 12:36pmThat’s a shame I liked the way series 11 and 12 were separated from older series
Anonymous
January 21st, 2020 - 6:07pmRe-released Sonic right? of The 13th Doctor’s, nothing new?
Patrick Gleeson
January 21st, 2020 - 12:01pmStill need a current gen cyber man and wooden variant
Anonymous
January 21st, 2020 - 11:44amSounds great! Hopefully the B&M Ryan and Yaz will be in abundance -still didn’t manage to get any of last years sets even though there were meant to be more. I’m gonna guess they come with another 13 variant -maybe a more lighter blue top version or I guess they might be able to make a Judoon trooper? Hopefully they’re coming early Feb!
booboo
January 21st, 2020 - 11:56am3 figure sets are mid year its the dalek sets on feb
Anonymous
January 21st, 2020 - 12:12pmAs much as I’m very excited about these new figures being released my only concern is that we aren’t getting all the companions at the same time. Obviously character have a reason for this but wouldn’t it have been better to have all the companions released at the same time for better display?
Just a thought.
booboo
January 21st, 2020 - 12:15pmDoesn’t look like There was enough interest last year for the 3 of them, that was the original idea
Better this wAy than not at all we don’t want another “Owen situation”
SamWho
January 21st, 2020 - 12:26pmI think it’s good to spread them out it’s a miracle we are getting all three at all thanks to B&M we can & will be able to display them all together just have to wait a little longer (which dr who fans are good at)
The Destroyer of Worlds
January 21st, 2020 - 12:40pmBooboo, I’m surprised they haven’t done Nardole yet as currently he’s the only modern companion without a figure. So both him and Owen were left out of the main groups annoyingly.
The Adventurous College Student
January 21st, 2020 - 11:42amDo you know whether they might do other variants of Yaz and Ryan seen as they’re releasing the B&M set first like they did with Bill and later released another version later?
booboo
January 21st, 2020 - 11:56amNothing was mentioned

January 21st, 2020 - 11:32amBrilliant
Daz
January 21st, 2020 - 11:30amCan’t wait to see these!
Another 13th Doctor variant figure is most welcome (we had loads of the tenth)
I have made my own custom 13th Tardis which looks awesome but I’ll have a look at the CO one but the classic box reuse rumour makes me think it will look a bit small.
The Reconnaissance Dalek sounds great I love that Dalek! I imagine there will be a little rubber Mutant with bendy tentacles you can wrap around a figure as the accessory.
Yaz and Ryan being in a B&M set is okay but I just hope I can find them and Graham sounds like he’s going to be in a pack alone (poor Graham).
Good news all round, hope we get a series 12 Cyberman! and Master!
booboo
January 21st, 2020 - 11:31amThe mutant, although separate fits inside the Dalek as well
SamWho
January 21st, 2020 - 11:36amI love that very clever that’s why there was a hinge looking bit on that Dalek picture from a few weeks ago so lucky we getting these great ones
Daz
January 21st, 2020 - 3:17pmWow the mutant fit’s inside the Dalek that’s pretty cool makes me want it more!
WhovianLife
January 21st, 2020 - 11:22amWas Character the only company to have Doctor Who?
booboo
January 21st, 2020 - 11:28amSome new metal construction sets info later
Button
January 21st, 2020 - 11:21amBooboo, do you think they may possibly retool the Recon Dalek mold so that can release a figure of (that) Dalek.
the 14th doctor
January 21st, 2020 - 11:19amThis sounds great but when do we get images?
Also do you know when in February: early, mid late?
booboo
January 21st, 2020 - 11:22amPictures later today
the 14th doctor
January 21st, 2020 - 11:42amGreat thanks
Judooning
January 21st, 2020 - 11:05amThis is fantastic! Unique accessories now too!
My guess is the 3rd figure in the B&M set (if it is a 3 pack) will be a third version of the Thirteenth Doctor to keep costa down. But obviously I would love a brand new figure.
To have Yaz and Ryan included in a budget set for their first release must mean there are variants planned in the future.
WhovianLife
January 21st, 2020 - 10:52amI hope the images get approved as would love to see!
Who Knows
January 21st, 2020 - 10:51amMay I ask, is there any news of the B&M sets due to come out late January / early February please
booboo
January 21st, 2020 - 10:52amNo in a word.
The Ergon
January 21st, 2020 - 10:50amAren,t we getting anything earlier than summer?
The Ergon
January 21st, 2020 - 10:52amSorry did not see the Feb Date. So whats mid Year?
The Ergon
January 21st, 2020 - 11:01amWould It be better waiting for full sets and which will only be individual?
Thomas Chapman
January 21st, 2020 - 10:43amIs the Judoon a Captain like orginally listed all those months back? or a tropper now?
booboo
January 21st, 2020 - 10:45amNew one seen in filming
Patrick Gleeson
January 21st, 2020 - 10:43amI cant wait to see these in hand tomorrow
The Destroyer of Worlds
January 21st, 2020 - 10:33amNice, when might their B&M set be released?
booboo
January 21st, 2020 - 10:39amMid year
The Destroyer of Worlds
January 21st, 2020 - 10:43amAh okay, it’s a shame they’ll only be at B&M. How come the two (or possibly three) pack can’t go to comic book shops like FP as it’s harder to get them from B&M? Is there just not enough consumer interest?
booboo
January 21st, 2020 - 10:45amMost likely
patchampyoutuber
January 21st, 2020 - 10:59amForbidden Planet international used to get distribution rights on their website for Doctor Who figures but their company went to instore purchases only and the website stopped trading, ever since distribution for the figures across the whole of the UK has changed really

January 21st, 2020 - 10:32amWhen is the Ryan and jaz coming out and who is the third figure in the set.
booboo
January 21st, 2020 - 10:40amMid year and no info on third figure
dazzleshell
January 21st, 2020 - 12:45pmThird figure might be an unknown from current series so can’t be revealed yet. Hopefully.
Button
January 21st, 2020 - 10:32amVery good selection of figures, really do hope it takes off because I really want to see a figure of the new Cybermen.
The Destroyer of Worlds
January 21st, 2020 - 10:45amThere might not be a Cyberman till 2021 like the Master sadly. Unless they knew about the Cyberman earlier than the Master.
Button
January 21st, 2020 - 10:51amI have waited this long for new figures, another year is gravy to me.
Demdike@CultLabs
January 21st, 2020 - 10:31amWho will be stocking these figures? Amazon and Argos or will they be on supermarket shelves?
The 00’s were superb, going into Tesco and buying Sea Devils and Cybermen figures. Never had it so good.
Button
January 21st, 2020 - 10:35amMost likely given how the market has changed in recent years they will be mostly available online, however stores like Forbidden planet may have them.
Hi
January 21st, 2020 - 10:30amFor a prediction yaz and Ryan would come in like a series 11 figure set that could also come with tzim Shaw
RT2000
January 21st, 2020 - 10:26amLoving this! Cannot wait until they’re all released!
