Character Options unveil Twelfth Doctor 3.75inch figure as Doctor Who range regenerates
Fans of Doctor Who have much to be excited about at present, with the successful return of the television series and a new Doctor to get to know. In addition, Character Options is delighted to unveil the much anticipated action figure for the newly regenerated Twelfth Doctor, as portrayed by Peter Capaldi.
A great gift for fans and collectors alike, this poseable range of 3.75 inch action figures include some iconic characters from the hit TV show.
The new assortment includes favourite characters from the past and present series, including the Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth incarnation of the famous Time Lord, his fiery former companion Amy Pond and two versions of the Daleks; classic design and Asylum design (as seen in Asylum of the Daleks).
For collectors wishing to complete their line-up of Time Lords the Twelfth Doctor can be found in two guises; in his regenerated form as seen in the The Time of the Doctor and in his stylish new outfit which will become more familiar as Series 8 progresses; resplendent in black long-line jacket, waistcoat, trousers and boots.
This latest figure will be first of the Twelfth Doctor in his own unique style and is eagerly awaited by fans. In fact, the range is so highly anticipated that Character Options had to air freight more figures in order to meet demand. The figure promises to be one of the most successful to date…!
Selected figures are available in store now. Each figure costs just £6.99 and is presented on its own red Doctor Who Display base (excluding Dalek figures).
Please note this is a Press release.

September 9th, 2014 - 10:58pmI heard from a fellow who fan that Capaldi didn’t like the red lining figure which is why we will get the new version and why the red lining version wasn’t in wave 3. From what I understand the red lining figure will never appear.

September 9th, 2014 - 8:54pmI have been thinking about making my own doctor who toys lately and I am thinking of making a regeneration energy toy that attaches to the figures head and hands to make it look like it is regenerating
I am thinking of using those blue electric things that the silent figure comes with
what I would do is tamper with the plastic a bit to make it fit on to the figures hands then I would paint it orange

September 10th, 2014 - 9:33pmI say go for it. I’ve been doing the odd customizing with my Doctor Who figures and as of so far I’ve made a James Bond figure out of my Rassilon and Master figure and I’ve done a few variations with my vast collection of 10th Doctor figures. I’ve painted one of my 10th Doctor figures in gold as a send up to the 50th anniversary.

September 9th, 2014 - 8:54pmI dont like it. I want it in 5 inch. This will not fit in my collection. My kids say this more than i do

September 9th, 2014 - 8:20pmI wonder why the cant do the red ling bit people on YouTube have done it and they look excellent so if they can do why cant character?
Jamie

September 9th, 2014 - 8:29pmit would have looked much better if they had
it looks a bit plain

September 9th, 2014 - 8:45pmWell the thing that I’ve noticed with the 3.75″ line is the first figure they make of something is always a bit rubbish, so I think we can expect some improvements/variants in future 🙂
the astronaut of death
September 9th, 2014 - 8:51pmyeah you never know we might get 5 variants of capaldi due to all his different colour shirts this series
the astronaut of death
September 9th, 2014 - 8:18pmI wonder why the never get the skin colour white
they made the 11th doctor look like a simpson
peter capaldi is much more pale than this
The living shadow
September 10th, 2014 - 7:07amThey always have made figure look waaay more tanned than the actor for some reason
Trenzalore
September 9th, 2014 - 6:31pmWonder if they’ve coloured the inside red when you lift up the jacket ❓ would be a nice little extra but maybe too intricate…
alexanderop
September 9th, 2014 - 6:37pmI think that would be too tricky and easier for them not to do it, but I would love for it to be like that. Maybe in a future wave one will have the red lining showing like that Argos picture.
The living shadow
September 10th, 2014 - 7:12amTo be honest I think if they don’t color the inside red, I might just do it myself. Votesaxon07 did it on his custom Capaldi, so I don’t think it’s too hard

September 9th, 2014 - 6:22pmOk then. I like this figure but would much prefer the red lining one that’s the most I conic but I suppose this one is either from the episode Into the dalek or – future ep can’t think but I would love to see the purple shirt variant coming out as a well just another variant seeing as Matt had two to start off with. With a spoon accessories. Least we got it. Hope they do consider releasing the other though. I bought wave three and the well I was hoping to update my collection Booboo could you possibly give me the email? check my YoTube 🙂

September 9th, 2014 - 5:29pmThis figure is coming out on the 30th of September!
booboo
September 9th, 2014 - 5:30pmi wouldn’t take any notice of dates where figures are concerned – they are usually always wrong
The living shadow
September 10th, 2014 - 7:03amA worker in forbidden planet said that’s when they’ve been told they’re getting them! But yeah, it could come late or early, so it probably won’t be exact
Exterminator
September 9th, 2014 - 5:14pmI’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this is a figure of the spiritual medium Derek Acorah. The likeness is uncanny.

September 9th, 2014 - 5:35pmBooBoo, I think ‘thedoctor’ is referring to Derek Acorah speaking to his spirit guide. Lol. 🙂

September 9th, 2014 - 4:26pmBlah, Blah, Blah ~ We will more than likely see it on ebay before anyone else get’s it…
alexanderop
September 9th, 2014 - 4:37pmWell I think one of two things will happen, Argos or the BBCShop will get stock in first and they’ll appear in stores or online in the BBCShop’s case. Of course if Argos gets them first we’ll only know that by them appearing on Ebay or someone on this site reporting having found one haha.
booboo
September 9th, 2014 - 5:13pmtell you one thing, as soon as they turn up and where you will hear about it within minuets on this site

September 9th, 2014 - 5:34pmI wouldn’t expect any less Booboo, I check this site as often as I can for new updates. Just can’t wait for this figure to be out.

September 9th, 2014 - 4:15pmAny idea if they’ll make a waistcoat version ? ( seeing as how he changes to a waistcoat at some point )
alexanderop
September 9th, 2014 - 4:35pmI hope they’ll do the elusive Red Lining ‘concept’ figure as an actual release sometime in the future.

September 9th, 2014 - 4:13pmWhole range was in FP yesterday bar the twelfth doc
CB Doctor
September 9th, 2014 - 4:04pmCool. I hope they make a 5″ figure (In costume).
cheesy pie
September 11th, 2014 - 6:27amthey definitely will it is just a matter of time.
Trenzalore
September 9th, 2014 - 3:49pmI hope they consider a regeneration set with 12th Doctor after regeneration and this one.
Really excited to get this though I felt it was a bit pretentious to have a whole paragraph about how they have to get more because it’s so popular and the ‘most successful figure to date’
Anyway, can’t wait to buy it! 😀
DWFAN1
September 9th, 2014 - 3:53pmOr the regeneration set could have the 12th doctor regenerated and him in the pyjamas
Nobody in particular
September 9th, 2014 - 4:07pmThat would be better, since we’ve already got him from straight after his regeneration. With 12 in pyjamas, it’d be similar to the crash set in 2010 😀
Trenzalore
September 9th, 2014 - 4:11pmYeah I only said straight after regeneration because that figures already made. The pyjamas idea is much better.
alexanderop
September 9th, 2014 - 4:33pmThere are so many variants that could be made for 12th doctor figures in future, 3.75 and 5″.

September 9th, 2014 - 3:23pmI hope some Argos’ get stock in this week, so excited to get this figure. Plus the Sticker Collection is supposed to come out this Thursday as well, right? So much to get @_@
Rusty The Dalek
September 9th, 2014 - 2:29pmI wish they used the hair and facial expression of this figure with the likeness of the ‘regenerated’ figure (since this looks nothing like Capaldi)
And the body should use the buttoned ‘red flash’ sculpt for the coat, which although ‘not natural’ is far more distinctive and interesting – not to mention eye – catching, which this certainly isn’t – than this figure
What we have is a figure of Steven Moffat in 20 years time, wearing some very bland, uninteresting clothing
Very dissapointing (but I’ll still pick it up)
Anonymous
September 9th, 2014 - 1:53pmThe coat looks too short and it also looks too small…like the buttons would never reach the button holes…oh yeah, it doesn’t look anything like Peter Capaldi 🙂 I serious hope the real thing is better than this.
the astronaut of death
September 9th, 2014 - 12:56pmbooboo do you know the release date?
booboo
September 9th, 2014 - 12:57pmno – only what the release says – they are been flown it – but who for?
Argos, USA, Everyone, anyone’s guess

September 9th, 2014 - 4:18pmArgos. 😀
the astronaut of death
September 9th, 2014 - 12:55pmthis looks great!!!!!!
I love it!
I just think the coat should be a bit longer
The Fishmonger
September 9th, 2014 - 12:40pmI think it looks more like Steven Moffatt than Peter Capaldi
Anonymous
September 9th, 2014 - 12:42pmlol haha so true 🙂
Exterminator
September 9th, 2014 - 10:29amI wish they’d stuck with the red lining on the jacket. I liked that. Keep that head though.
booboo
September 9th, 2014 - 10:31ami do worry it looks a little to bland to attract its intended target
When The Doctor Was Me
September 9th, 2014 - 10:44amI agree booboo! It does look bland. But its the Doctor and just that alone will sell it!
booboo
September 9th, 2014 - 10:46amit will, i was thinking of the causal buyer really
Exterminator
September 9th, 2014 - 1:27pmThe red lined jacket version was much more eye catching.
Where In Time And Space
September 9th, 2014 - 10:01amBooboo, do you have any idea when the next wave is coming out?
Do you know when they will be on bbc shop?
booboo
September 9th, 2014 - 10:06amBBC shop are still waiting to hear about certain points i think
Character have not put them up themselves either yet
its worth remembering that some on line retailers wont put stock up for order until they know exactly how many and what they are getting and more to the point when they are getting them.
Where In Time And Space
September 9th, 2014 - 10:08amThanks Booboo, what figures do you expect to be in the next wave
booboo
September 9th, 2014 - 10:12amno idea to be honest

September 9th, 2014 - 9:52amLet hope the figure looks better in hand than it does in the promo shot.
On a related matter – does anyone know if the Hide and Angels Time Zones sets are available anywhere else other than Argos?
booboo
September 9th, 2014 - 9:56amtoys r us have had them (or at least some of their stores)
Ian
September 9th, 2014 - 9:42amWhen does this come out? Have to say the first 12th Doctor release (in the blue packaging)in the 11th Doctor clothes is a better likeness .
booboo
September 9th, 2014 - 9:44amthey are being flown in so its immanent but to which retailer we dont know
its seems many are holding back on putting the range on-line until they have the 12th Doctor
