Character Building Super Rare 11 Doctors set
A previously unannounced Character Building “Super Rare” 11 Doctors set is currently sale, it contains 5 variants and appears to be limited to just 100 Units at present.
The packaging is identical to the standard set…
This information has been confirmed to us by Character customer services.
The 1st, 4th, 7th, 9th and 10th Doctor are all different.
there is no certificate with these sets.

Otherwise, comics stores will sell/order for you the rest of the range.

They have the nano recorder, sonic screwdriver personalise set, junk tardis, monster invasion tin, monster invasion booster box, books, micro figures, army builders and mini sets as well

Even if they did the boxes 50/50 now or made it a store exclusive it would have sold well as people would have bought it twice. This is just ridiculous!

August 16th, 2011 - 2:30pmOne thing I’ve learnt about CO exclusives/rare releases is that they dont stay exclusive or rare for long…I suspect these variants will work their ways into future releases without the need to buy this set twice.
Infact, the only figure I can think of that has remained exclusive (so far) is the 5 inch 8th Doctor….when are they finally going to complete the collectors set and release 8 in its own pack…or a twin pack (pehaps with the Master)….anyway, I digress.

August 16th, 2011 - 3:35pmWhile completely true, Character have been very particular about the Character Building range, especially the super-rares (stating they would *never* be remade). If they backpeddled on those, there would be a few furious people (namely the ones who have paid huge amounts of money for them off auction sites lol). Although far more would be very pleased…
With this set… no idea, since we don’t really have a lot of info yet.
I personally hope they will re-release all the rares/exclusives/super-rare CB range at some point. 😐

August 16th, 2011 - 2:01pmThis just plain frustrates me… I can deal with store exclusives (I can still get what I want, even though I have to source it online) but why limit these to only 100? It just fuels eBay scalping and leaves a lot of people unhappy.
I would buy a second set with the variants even if they were as common as the original release… making them so only 100 people can possibly own these… I don’t know, it just doesn’t really make sense to me, especially when they’ve gone to the trouble to make these new variants, then produce only 100?

The super-rares I understand, as they’re blind bags and it’s a suprise when you find one, but you can see what’s in these before you buy them…

August 16th, 2011 - 1:24pmThis set just shows you typical character. A few minor paint jobs on 100 of them. Makes people grab. I cannont afford minor paint job after paint job. Surley they could of done Pertwee from The Sea Devils and Colin form trial of a timelord and even Smith in fez.
If the vast majority were varients I would get it. But they aren’t so I won’t.
