sometimes you have to sign in on Amazon.com rather than .co.uk. I’ve had this same issue when ordering Pops from the US.

For those who have received this figure is the quality good? I can see one person’s wasn’t. Am not bothered by the box as that gets recycled. Is there customs to pay on top of the price paid to Amazon?

i ordered it myself, i don’t mind the cost from the US if it’s the only way to get one. £29 total. due on 28/8. it’s mainly annoying when it’s a US exclusive but the particular website doesn’t ship over to the uk.

Actually, they are one of the best CS departments around, but its been said in numerous places now and by people who are in charge of the range this is a USA exclusive.

People have the choice if they want to risk it or not.

I’m fine with this being a US exclusive as I’m not a huge completist, I don’t even have the red top 13 yet. The only problem I have is the fact I don’t understand is why would you advertise this to a UK audience, via the back of UK figures, if it doesn’t come out in the UK?

Like I say, I won’t miss it, it’s just weird they would do that.

guess would be it as intended for the UK at the point when the packing was done but things changed, these things are actually done months in advance

Happened before with some releases at toys r us when 2 figures on the back never got to the UK ( Re-tooled Black Dalek Sec being one of them)

    August 4th, 2020 - 5:38pm

I think we can let the Americans have this one! considering they’re paying the best part of £40 per B&M set, when we’re all (In the UK) paying £19.99. I don’t think a repaint is going to effect my collection that much!

completest market, i would actually love to know how USA V UK sales went for the Tots toys 13th Doctor.

I think a fair amount of these will find there way back to the UK

    • The Werewolf

      August 4th, 2020 - 7:51pm

It’s not the only one, they also got the best Dalek Sec. Not to mention most other properties such as Star Wars are much cheaper for US to buy than UK. Of course if you’re only Doctor Who that doesn’t matter. This one being US only doesn’t matter to me either because I’m not a completist and think 2 different colours is more than enough.
Not to mention the eBay process of the B&M sets (unless you search hard enough) are closer to the US prices.

i don’t get the usa exclusive on this item as i’ve never imagined doctor who being very well known there.I know it’s shown on bbc america now but i always imagined it being the kinda channel brits watch who moved to usa.I’m suprised they havn’t tried to americanise there own version like they tried and failed to do with red dwarf.

Assuming these are new distributor and new business it could be an “incentive” to start or a deal breaker.

eg, we will buy x amount of sets if you give us an exclusive.

I dont know this for sure but this sort of thing does happen in busness.

It’s better known over there these days. Every time I go to the US I meet a lot of people who watch it. And the first thing a lot of people ask, after the usual….oh I love your accent!…lol,is,do you watch Doctor Who? So we talk about it for a little while and leave. Or we start talking about other stuff we like. It’s always fun moments. And I see the Tardis in the most obscure places! Love it.

Might have to order this figure, ship it to my American parents, and have them throw it in the box my American little brother is shipping to me soon. Yes,there are always ways to get what you want, lol!

There is a huge following in USA.Not as big as the UK.(it’s your show) I started watching Dr. Who in 1980 (Jon Pertree,Tom Baker,Peter Davidson) on PBS channels before cable, back in the day.Dr. Who stuff wasn’t available in the USA back then. Vhs started in stores in the early 1990’s. Any way there are more fans in the USA than you think. (even closet ones) Just info.

All i can say is someone in the “Know” on a forum has just said this a USA Only exclusive.

I doubt if whoever set up the Amazon page and the Store front would have UK buyers in mind enough to even put that, but i will bet a fair amount of sales will be from UK Buyers for this.

I just dont know, it could turn up in a later B&M set for all we know, although if the USA are selling them that would be odd.

One thing i notice is that the packaging has the big red “Hazard Warning” on the front which is USA specific, the UK carded sets don’t have that.

Will be interesting to see if they have had to do that with all the sets and figures they are selling.

Even if it never gets a US release. DONT worry you’ll always get someone selling it on eBay if your willing to pay abit more than MRP. I do It all the time with Star Wars US exclusives. There’s hundreds of them, but I always manage to get them all.

      August 4th, 2020 - 11:19am

the USA has always been problematic for UK buyers, i have bought stuff in the past for around $20 with much higher shipping costs than this then it gets picked up at customs (which they are much hotter on now) and you have to pay the tax and get walloped with an £8 handling charge on top.

This isn’t such a bad deal if you want it as its all pre-paid.
