I really like the 12th doctor figures.. but apart from that, 10, and the stretchy cyber there’s not much new stuff..

and how come there 10 not 15 quid? not that I’m complaining but I’m surprised

I think they are £10 because character had to shift several thousand cancelled figures that were destined for the USA market

      January 30th, 2017 - 10:45am

Do you mean the fourth figure that was never released?

    • booboo

      January 30th, 2017 - 11:15am

no they (UT USA) cancelled the order for the whole lot, we don’t know what the 4th figures was, we may never know

    • The Outcast

      January 30th, 2017 - 11:19am

No, he’s talking about the 12th Doctors and Tux 10’s that were meant to be for the US market. UT US cancelled their order so all the US figures have to be sold in the UK aswell.

When will we get some series 9 figures? There are some many cool carractars they could release
    For example
    One ghost
    Ashilder
    Mire
    Osgood
    Bonnie
    Zygon egg with zygon
    One of the sandmen
    Mayor me and raven
    Rigsy
    The viel
    Rassilon
    The general with swapable heads
    Cloister wrath
That’s more then enough carractars for at least two waves

Its unlikely we’ll get any of these. Of this list, the only I think we’ll get at some point is the Zygon, however it probably wouldn’t come with the Egg thing. Not trying to be mean, just trying to be realistic. That being said, most of this list would make great figures and I think we would have got all of them back in the Golden days.

Agreed. I don’t see us getting any of these unfortunately. The money is just not there to be made. Good list of figures though

I ordered the 3 figures of forbidden planet and when I log on to my account it shows the order and the PayPal transaction went through but i still haven’t got a confirmation email. Do I need a confirmation email or is the order on my account good enough. (I’ve had problems with the 8th dr fig and when BBC store closed down and I really don’t want to miss out on these)

      January 26th, 2017 - 5:35pm

Who actually liked the 3.75 line anyway. They should have just continued the 5 inch line. I’m glad they stopped it

    • booboo

      January 26th, 2017 - 5:52pm

mass market retailers didn’t want the 5″ line, that’s well established now, we are lucky it kept going due to the efforts of certain people, it never actually ended just evolved.

retailers wanted the 3.75″ and its interesting it died as soon as became clear there would be no show on air for over a year

personally i would have loved wave 5 and as many Daleks as they wanted to throw at it

    • Dalek4ever

      January 26th, 2017 - 6:28pm

True. I would have wanted a wave 5 but I don’t really do anything with 3.75 figures. Just kind of let them gather dust

    • Anonymous

      January 26th, 2017 - 6:53pm

I liked the 3.75″ figures a lot..it’s a real shame they’re no more. Other franchises seem to be resorting to the bigger 5″-6″ lines now so maybe the Doctor Who line will do quite well
      reverting back to 5.5″.

    • Dalek4ever

      January 26th, 2017 - 6:59pm

Yes. I guess we collectors are used to the 5inch wave

    • Ian

      January 27th, 2017 - 4:34pm

To be fair to the retailers, Character didn’t push the 3.75″ much. Plus the quality was poor.
As for retailers not wanting 5″ Tesco now sell the 5.5″ Star Wars Black series….

    • The Werewolf

      January 27th, 2017 - 5:08pm

The Star Wars Black Series are 6″, and there are films out, it’s gonna be more popular than Doctor Who.

    • Cyberlover

      January 27th, 2017 - 5:49pm

So whats going to replace it for the figure of the news series then. Is their a press release saying its done?

    • booboo

      January 27th, 2017 - 5:56pm

Both people at Character and Their PR company say there are no plans for any more 3,75″ figures

I think we are down to one or 2 core figures such as Bill possibly and variants for now

    • Cyberslayer

Its basically like nothing st this rate anyways. Id rather have badly made figures of new monsters then none at all

    • Anonymous

      January 27th, 2017 - 9:32pm

Tesco may have the Star Wars black series figures, but I don’t know if they’re selling, the Tesco near me was selling them for £7.50! Bloody marvellous though, though that could have been a mistake

    • Ian

      January 27th, 2017 - 10:58pm

Is the classic line now over? I would like to know for certain and other would.

    • The Werewolf

      January 28th, 2017 - 2:42am

Well, depends if Tesco, like Home Bargains got offloaded with the dodgy ones, Home Bargains is selling some of the 6″ Black Series for £5.99, though its mostly just pegwarmer Finn left.

The whole, “retailers don’t want larger figures” thing is just Doctor Who AFAIK. Other ranges including Marvel Legends and DC Multiverse also have 6″ figures.

    • The Outcast

      January 28th, 2017 - 10:41am

Well Doctor Who is current when there is a series on. A couple of core figures would do me quite nicely, IF there are some villains in each wave. Its always bugged me that they don’t make many villains. Things like the 2013 Cybermen would sell as:

      A) They are Big villains
      B) Are good Army builders
      C) Have a lot of variants
      D) Much wanted by Collectors
      E) CO already have the scans/moulds for them

I still fail to understand why they haven’t made them yet. I mean they even work with the previously released Missy figure.

    • Ian

      January 29th, 2017 - 8:26pm

They were around since series 7B. So the show not being on last year may have an an impact but not the exact reason I think, they were not well made or promoted. Stores didn’t display them in proment positions.

i am so glad we are getting these as i was a late comer to season 6 when i started collecting. sorry to hear about 3.75 but everyone really wanted 5inch. I ordered 1 of each so far and will get more for kids later on birthdays. is it a bit worrying that usa cancelled. does that mean there will be even more problems with figures in future. I pray for the day we get a selection of new villains, monsters and characters again.

its only really the make your own sonic thats out of place

the 10th sonic and journal are in diamond classic packaging which is still in use

my gut feeling is this stock exists now and character need to move it on, its to random otherwise.

I also think the figures and playset have been opened up to the UK market because character now have to move the stock UT USA cancelled and its also a way testing the market again to see how much interest there is

the 3.75″ line is dead so i hope this all works out

The stretchy Cyberman is part of a stretchy range and was not on display with the main Doctor Who items but with the other stretch figures, its a separate line using current licences.

    • Anonymous

      January 26th, 2017 - 1:23pm

Oh lordy, a stretch cybie was odd enough? Does that mean the Who range is going to get more stretchies?

    • whovian

      January 28th, 2017 - 5:45pm

I think the stretch cyberman must be part of the stretch armstrong family, as armstrong now has3 different styled dogs and three different coloured octopus’ (octopi).

All that been said, im done with the line. Too many variants of the same character and overpriced. I still remember the good old days when the 5 inch figures were only £6.99.

I still remember going to argos and getting Martha Jones for the first time. She was my first series 3 figure.

    • booboo

      January 28th, 2017 - 5:54pm

They were only £6.99 because they made 10’s of thousands of every figure because everyone wanted them

now its just a few thousand of each so £9.99 is very good value, especially with a thing called inflation

£6.99 would be £9.29 today, at the same level of manufacture

Having said that if UT are out of the picture for now i don’t see how they can move forward at the moment

    • The Outcast

      January 25th, 2017 - 3:06am

I’ve always wondered why they haven’t done something like this.

Hell bent TARDIS Playset: Plastic floor piece (you slot a cardboard floor into this bit), 3 pillars (which connect to the floor), 2 cardboard wall pieces [Wall1: 3D Looking roundels, Wall2: Weird computer bank thing this interior had] (slots between the pillars to be walls), Console (Painted white).

1963 TARDIS Playset: Basically above, but with a different wall decor for wall 2 [Now the photographic roundels] and bluey/green Console.

Inferno set: Variant 3rd Doctor and repaint console (to represent one from story)

I was also thinking that they could include plastic doors which would be plastic but have the roundels as a cardboard backing (Allowing them to be reused in other Classic series playsets (If they want to go down that route)).

Am I the only person that likes the strechy cyberman?? Now they have the sculpt for a cyberman they might change it into a figure! As for the other figures: 10 in Tux I might get, not particualry fussed. The two 12 variants are amazing, excited to order them. Lastly, the TARDIS, I’m very disappointed that they’ve ‘redone’ it because I among a few others have the original and as some fans may want this TARDIS I’m still awaiting the new 12 TARDIS. I might still get it as my version is VERY old and missing pieces and the noises are way to loud that they should be.

I doubt they will use the stretchy Cyberman mould for a figure. The detail is very weak so it’s clearly been made especially for moulding the stretchy rubber stuff the Cyberman is made of

Also they already had one for 3.75″ which they haven’t done anything with so.
