Gallifrey Falls No More
January 24th, 2014 - 6:35pmI have seen other 3.75″ figures in TRU for about £2, whereas the Doctor Who figures are £7
Doctor Stu
January 24th, 2014 - 7:51pmBecause the Doctor Who ones are still fairly new and so keep the same price until popularity drops as well as prices
alfie
January 24th, 2014 - 6:22pmThese look awsome !!!
DoctorArkham
January 24th, 2014 - 5:13pmLittle confused. Is Amy, 10 and Asylum Dalek going to be in 5 inch as that’s how tall the figure looks in the image?
Gallifrey Falls No More
January 24th, 2014 - 6:32pmno its 3.75″
RORY DOCTOR RIVER POND
January 24th, 2014 - 4:44pmthis seems all a bit funny. I’m still not a massive fan, but will buy as a collector. but they are doing what 5″ did, which is repeat stuff.
the wave shouldn’t have another angel, and another clara. they should wait and have a clara from series 8.
KORSAIR
January 24th, 2014 - 9:04pmTrue as that was one of the failings of the 5″ range far too many figures of the same character and bad choices, I mean how many 10th and 11th Doctors do we all have.
the astronaut of death
January 24th, 2014 - 11:56amBooboo what is the diiffernce between this spin and fly tardis and the last one
the astronaut of death
January 24th, 2014 - 12:00pm.
booboo
January 24th, 2014 - 12:20pmsame i think just lighter
Gallifrey Falls No More
January 24th, 2014 - 6:33pmAnd a slightlu different colour.
DoctorWho2013
January 24th, 2014 - 8:31amP.S. The cardboard play sets have gotta go…to think how they’ve downgraded them since the 5″ range…and I type this as I look over at my boxed 10th Doctor console room playset displayed in the corner of the room…
Dalek the Supreme
January 24th, 2014 - 1:51pmThe Tenth and Eleventh Doctor’s TARDIS playsets both feature cardboard. These are hardly any different, except that they can make more of them with the new scale.
Anonymous
January 24th, 2014 - 2:04pmthe 5 inch tardis playsets were cardboard and plastic
Mr Waverly
January 24th, 2014 - 8:29amI love the way they say ‘Popular 3.75 inch range’ – Wherever I’ve seen any, there are always loads on the shelves, ergo, they aren’t selling. My job takes me all over the UK, and wherever I’ve looked, the story is the same. They’re too expensive for most kids to buy, and the serious Dr Who collectors [adults], don’t want the little figures for continuity’s sake. Maybe it’s time the tender was put out to let another company have a go. Character are not listening to their VERY loyal customer base.
The Big Friendly Button
January 24th, 2014 - 11:49amDoctor Who is show for a family audience, they cannot cater to one side of the age range and leave the other side out, and the reason why these figures are not selling is because they have been out for a while, so of course people are going to lose interest. That is wave two and three are coming out, to keep the trend going.
Character will never go back to the 5inch, it would be a pointless waste of their time and money. Because at the end of the day that is what is comes down to money.
Arthur Stengos
January 25th, 2014 - 11:00amThe new paradigm Daleks didn’t last long, did they? In ‘Asylum of the Daleks’, they were beautifully repainted to look like older Daleks, but put on the sidelines. All subsequent Daleks shown on the programme have been the great, hard-looking copper coloured ones. What went wrong?
DoctorWho2013
January 24th, 2014 - 8:29amAgain, just like the character building mini-figs the sculpts on these seem to be a lot better with this new batch. Might get a few 😉
The Big Bad Wolf
January 23rd, 2014 - 10:07pmim sorry to say this but the face sculpt on the tenth doctor figure is AWFUL! i do however think capaldi ‘s face sculpt is excellent and will be picking it up as soon as it is released. I cant however say the same for the tenth doctor figure though
Doctor Stu
January 23rd, 2014 - 11:40pmI thought the tenth doctor looked very good especially how small the figure is
Dalek Spectre
January 23rd, 2014 - 8:25pmDoes the clara in this wave look the same as the rare variant clara?
booboo
January 23rd, 2014 - 8:27pmno the red dress is much brighter
Trenzalore
January 23rd, 2014 - 8:30pmWhich episode does she appear like that in do you know?
the astronaut of death

January 24th, 2014 - 12:27pmpointless character are very lasy now
100000BC
January 25th, 2014 - 10:59amNot pointless for people (like me because I prefer the red one to the blue one) who want the red dress Clara but don’t want to pay loads of extra money for a rare and don’t live in the USA or Australia. Character might not want to re-release a rare as a common to everyone.
Glasgo
January 23rd, 2014 - 7:43pmAgreed. I asked them for a replacement part and they sent me the wrong one and refuse to replace it
matt9982
January 23rd, 2014 - 6:20pmI am completely fed up of so much complaining. Quite a few people here like the 3.75″ merchandise. If you don’t like it complaining is not going to bring back 5″, if you have a problem contact Charater. Its really spoiling the extitement.
Sorry Booboo, I just had to get it out my system 🙁
matt9982
January 23rd, 2014 - 6:20pmI know there’s not much people here that do complain but the people that do really ruin it…
booboo
January 23rd, 2014 - 7:38pmi completely understand, however compared to some places the views are quite balanced
I do agree that the “haters” sometime hijack the post a spoil of for those who do like them (and there are a lot of you i know)
The negative groups are always the more vocal
Madmanwithabox
January 23rd, 2014 - 6:48pmCompletely agree!
50TrustmeimtheDoctor50
January 23rd, 2014 - 6:55pmExactly these figures great! If you do not have nothing nice to say don’t say it at all!
BlueBox2013
January 23rd, 2014 - 7:42pmthank you for saying this! i completely agree 🙂
matt9982
January 23rd, 2014 - 7:59pmI don’t mean to sound rude to the haters but when I look at these I get so exited about them but some of the comments just spoil it.
Its great to know that you guys agree with me but If I started posting “rid of 5″ on for example the War Doctor figure page I’m sure many would be offended.
I like both types but for me I just generally like 3.75″
5” is great and I loved it (I still do 🙂 ) but I think its had its had a great time and I’m sure it won’t go completly but just released less often
booboo
January 23rd, 2014 - 8:06pmyou make some very valid points
I have let both sides have their views but do appreciate how it spoils things, but you will never silence the naysayers.
lazlo14
January 23rd, 2014 - 8:40pmI agree. I personally don’t collect the 3.75” figures, but i really hate people posting pointless hate on here.
matt9982
January 23rd, 2014 - 9:40pmWell I guess so Booboo… At least I got it out my system, I feel a lot better now 🙂
The Big Friendly Button
January 23rd, 2014 - 9:52pmIndeed, these comments should be for constructive criticism.
Exterminator
January 24th, 2014 - 12:16amI like the 3.75″ range. I’m buying them! I also love the new paradigm daleks and want to see them done in 3.75″
The Other
January 25th, 2014 - 3:13amI wasn’t keen on wave 1 but this wave has turned me, and when I think more about it this wave seems to have more excitement to it, and a lot of potential
I also dislike haters, and am rather the supporter of the underdog, loving both “Silver Nemesis” and “The Time of The Doctor” to name two examples
😉 😛 🙂
poil thingd
January 25th, 2014 - 7:19amyes i agree some comments do spoil things
dalek 105
January 25th, 2014 - 7:21amsorry i only just found out that i was writing in the name box LOL 😆
TheExtremeBlueTARDIS
January 25th, 2014 - 9:50amNo offence, but I must disagree (I’d probably get loads of dislikes if there was that option on posts). I think we should be all entitled to our own opinion. Now if the whole page was absolutely flooded with hatred, then I completely agree with booboo when he usually deletes all the posts. But when it comes to this, I just have to disagree. I have my opinion, and 3.75″ is simply just ok. Nothing special, smaller, less detail. For me the 5″ are better, but I have nothing against your opinions on these.
100000BC
January 25th, 2014 - 10:55amNothing wrong with that; we all respect your view so long as you don’t start posting comments listing everything you find wrong with the figures and bring back five inch and sack moffat because it’s somehow his fault etc. etc. etc…
booboo
January 25th, 2014 - 11:20amThe problem we have over and over is that the 5″ line died in Jan 2011 – we just didn’t know that at the time
retailers saw it as on old line, sales had slowed from series 5 and they didn’t order enough figures to warrant further development – hence all the variants because they had to supply the orders they did have with the quantity of figures but not type, that’s why you got nothing from the second half of series 6 and beyond – not enough orders to pay for new figures.
Net result – rethink ask what retailers want and supply – and it worked – for now
so these bring back the 5″ posts are pointless, pointless, pointless – because the retailers don’t want them.
If you REALLY want to moan, moan at them (the retailers, the big ones not the little uns), TELL underground toys you want more classics, not Character, don’t go at them, they would love to make them i’m sure.
Better still, establish you own company, get several million pounds worth of backing, establish a worldwide market and distribution network and commission the figures you want from Character (but this would need to be (10s of thousands of each one)
After that sit and pray and be prepared to loose all your millions if its doesn’t work
If people actually understood the costs, the risks and what goes on they would not say what they do
The Other
January 25th, 2014 - 12:06pmWell said Booboo!!
the mr master
January 25th, 2014 - 12:25pmwell, that shut them up 🙂
TheExtremeBlueTARDIS
January 25th, 2014 - 6:59pmI totally agree Booboo, and as much I much much much prefer 5″ to 3.75″ I would never go around yelling “Bring back 5 inch!” because I know that will never happen.

January 23rd, 2014 - 2:27pmWhen will the Asylum Dalek and the Eleventh Doctor in tweed be released?
The Big Friendly Button
January 23rd, 2014 - 2:55pmI believe the tweed will be in march and the asylum Daleks is still up for approval.
Dalek the Supreme
January 24th, 2014 - 6:52pmOk, thanks. 😀
The Funky Chicken

The Big Bad Wolf
January 23rd, 2014 - 8:05amthe head sculpt on the 10th doctor is AWFUL!! Would have made more sense if they kept the face sculpt on the 11 drs set minus the glasses.
dalek eternal
January 23rd, 2014 - 12:39pmthey couldn’t this is in the new scale which lacks detail and look terrible
The Other
January 23rd, 2014 - 3:51pmThe 10th Doctor looks better than all his 5 inch counterparts!!
Anonymous
January 24th, 2014 - 3:34pmIf you didn’t realise, that 10th doctor figure is in 3.75″ and they cant shrink face sculpts without losing some detail.
Explosive Cookie
January 24th, 2014 - 3:35pmdamn it, forgot to put my name in the name box..again
100000BC
January 25th, 2014 - 12:03pmThat 10th Doctor figure looks a lot like him as he appeared in “The Day of the Doctor”. Therefore the hair is slightly different to the 5″ version.
Chooky
January 23rd, 2014 - 6:18amIs is just me or does the “New Monster” look like a Tetrap?
Anonymous
January 24th, 2014 - 3:33pmThey’re not silhouettes of a real monster for series 8, just a generic monster. But I see what you mean!
Explosive Cookie
January 24th, 2014 - 3:35pmdamn it, forgot to put my name in the name box XD
Matt
March 31st, 2014 - 4:31pmYou’re not wrong… it does look like a tetrap… it’s impossible to say if the outline means anything or not though.
Antonio Zambonini
January 23rd, 2014 - 1:12amtbh wave 2 is much better plus how do you get the playset zones flaps to stay in place ?
ahunter8056
January 23rd, 2014 - 6:37pmLots and LOTS of sticky tape. It’s the only way. It’s silly that CO have gone for such an awful choice, as cardboard is definitely one of the worst materials for a toy. The only reason why they made it out of cardboard is that it’s so cheap and easy to produce. I bought one and will never buy a timezone playset again.
Tennantbaker12
January 22nd, 2014 - 9:39pmcouple of questions
1)because of the heritage figures will the classics move on to 3.75 inch?
2)when are the first and second waves coming out?
The Other
January 23rd, 2014 - 4:00pm@TennantBaker12
1. No – don’t think so but could be wrong
2. First wave = March
Second wave = Hopefully October/November this year if not next year
100000BC
January 25th, 2014 - 12:08pmI imagine that if these are popular they may move on to Doctors, then companions and other characters (remembering that this is aimed it the kids who may not know much about it), but they won’t stop the 5″ classics. Classic 3.75″ figures would be just like the 5″ classics wave 1 and 2, the accompanying box sets and the 11 doctors set: the only non-exclusive classics so far.
still not ginger
January 22nd, 2014 - 9:19pmIs that amy figure 3.75″?
booboo
January 22nd, 2014 - 9:20pmyes

January 24th, 2014 - 3:52pmIt doesn’t look 3.75″ !!!!
Cyberleader1010
January 22nd, 2014 - 9:10pmWe’re the wave 2 sonic screwdrivers on display their Booboo?
booboo
January 22nd, 2014 - 9:14pmYes and pictures of wave 3 which has the masters laser screwdriver, river sonic, 11th and 10th Doctor
Anonymous
January 23rd, 2014 - 7:47am10th rivers and 11ths again?
Shane McEntee
January 23rd, 2014 - 6:59pmI’m really annoyed at them making waves with repeats of the previous wave sonics. If you are a collector of the waves and a completionist you feel obliged to buy them all again especially since they even mark the packaging with “wave 2”
The Big Bad Wolf
January 22nd, 2014 - 8:17pmon the dalek ship, does the dalek space body things close down so.u.cant see the dalek figure inside?
Exterminator
January 22nd, 2014 - 8:22pmI was wondering that, if it did all close up it’d look cool.
The Big Bad Wolf
January 22nd, 2014 - 8:28pmand does anyone know how big the dalek ship is because i have a day of the doctor display in my room and was wondering if it would fit on my display shelf
Doctor Stu
January 22nd, 2014 - 9:33pmI think It’s roughly about two and half Daleks in height
Exterminator
January 23rd, 2014 - 6:16pmThere’s another picture of the dalek attack ship on doctorwhotoys dot net in the news section. It looks to me that the flaps might have hinges at the top to allow the attack ship to close up and hide the dalek inside.
Also, the dalek does have a black striped skirt. So this is possibly another new dalek variant.
Jammy2305
January 24th, 2014 - 11:20amThe dalek is carrying a modern take on the 1964 saucer pilot dalek colour scheme! Can’t wait…
Doctor Stu
January 22nd, 2014 - 7:51pmThese look better than the first wave, hope that Dalek ship isn’t too expensive and really hope that the tenth doctor, Amy and weathered Dalek keep the same level of detail they have in the pictures as they look the best life like quality figure so far
Andy Hall
January 22nd, 2014 - 7:59pmThey wont. The Eleventh Doctor looked good in promo pics but dissapointed on final release. Really poor.
Doctor Stu
January 22nd, 2014 - 9:34pmI suppose being the prototypes it’s possible they are the only ones currently in the world and so have had more care taken when producing for display much like the doctor who figurines in the figurine collection promo pictures
The Big Bad Wolf
January 22nd, 2014 - 7:47pmwas the john hurt figure on display there??
booboo
January 22nd, 2014 - 7:49pmno, underground toys item not character and this 5″ figure is exclusive to FP in the UK so they are not going to show them at this event
CyberSutekh
January 22nd, 2014 - 7:41pmWear are the Classics?!
booboo
January 22nd, 2014 - 7:43pm5″ classic figures are exclusive to FP in the UK so they are not going to show them to people who cant buy them
This is a retailers trade event which people seem to forget

January 22nd, 2014 - 7:16pmThe 10th doctor’s face looks like mine!

January 22nd, 2014 - 7:14pmBooboo can you please make an interactive list of what are supposedly on offer so we can see what we want? Thanks!
The Paternoster gang
January 22nd, 2014 - 6:45pmDoes the weathered Dalek come with the Dalek ship?
Doctor Stu
January 22nd, 2014 - 7:50pmI don’t think so I think it’s just a prototype along with Amy and the tenth doctor
dalek eternal
January 22nd, 2014 - 6:09pmif character replace the 5 inch classics with these im stopping collecting figures apart from 5 inch ones that are already available because these are terrible
