B&M / WhoNA to get Exclusive Classic Variant Set
Who NA have posted a picture of a new Classic 5.5″ variant B&M UK set which they have said will also be exclusive to them in the USA.
The set shows a new 3rd Doctor and Jo grant variant along with the already released Master (Roger Delgado)
As this set is destined for B&M the price is likely to be favourable and hopefully will be one of three as in previous years.

April 7th, 2016 - 7:21amOK. The Invasion of the Dinosaurs variant 3rd Doctor is beautiful and probably worth it just for that BUT we get Jo and the Master as well for good measure!
Now all we need is a Three Doctors (or any red jacket) 3rd Doctor variant, cos seriously, he wore red jackets quite a bit.

April 4th, 2016 - 6:16pmYeah, I think if we get any more sets they’ll follow the format from last year – three humanoid figures, no Daleks, and no new moulds. Straight re – issues or repaints at best. So, probably no 1st or 2nd Doctor sets unless they’re going to be cheeky and re – re – issue some of the Cyberman figures through B&M.
My personal preference would be:
5th Doctor set – hatted 5th, POF Master, Jek.
6th Doctor set – red tie or Real Time 6th, Peri, skullface or stealth Cyberman.
7th Doctor set – serious face 7th, Silver Nemesis Ace, Silver Nemesis Cyberleader.
I guess they could probably justify another 4th set, given Tom’s popularity and the number of figures to choose from.

April 3rd, 2016 - 6:39pmThanks! The figures I mentioned are either repaints of existing figures or like the Third Doctor from Invasion of The Dinosaurs unreleased figures. As mentioned in my Fifth Doctor Three Figure Set idea I would love to see a Earthshock Cyber Leader as it’s such a simple and easy repaint and I really like the design of the 80’s Cybermen. I doubt the Flood figure will ever see the light of day as it will cost too much money to add articulation to the existing sculpt but considering how popular these sets have been in the past you never know, character might take a risk.

if I was thinking 10th Doctor ones I would have a redesigned Donna based either on Sontaran Stratagem/Poison Sky or Turn Left/Stolen Earth/Journey’s End.
Earthshock/Five Docs Cyberleader would be a DEFINITE must, I also think that Mawdryn, Lytton or a regular outfit Ainley Master would look cool.
For other set combinations like the 6th Doctor I feel that maybe a Valeyard figure might be awesome to see, have the Doctor’s Dark side, or maybe Lord Kiv (just a retooled and recoloured Sil) or even a Vervoid!

April 3rd, 2016 - 1:14pmUnfortunate if you watch the special features of the Happiness Patrol, The BBC and Doctor Who are forbidden from producing Candy Man merchandise from a legal issue that arose after the airing of the Happiness Patrol. I don’t know if that ban will ever lift but I believe it was a big deal after the episode.

April 1st, 2016 - 9:22amDoes anyone understand the lack of Dalek rereleases? I think they’d do so well. A repackaged series 9 set with Davros, Supreme Dalek, Dead Planet Dalek, maybe even a basic Bronze Dalek as well would sell amazingly!
Include an imperial Dalek in a 7thcDoctor version of this set maybe?
In the 3.75 range the majority of it is them. In the new 5 inch collector series range we’ve got nothing ( bar that US exclusive Sec).

April 1st, 2016 - 10:49amI suppose the reason for the daleks in the 3.75 range is because that range is aimed at a younger target where as the people purchasing the collector range are longer term older Dr Who figure collectors who have already developed a large collection of 5″ figures and the figure makers probably know that and take into consideration that there have been many previous Dalek releases.

I know it is a bit random but so are some of the other releases.

April 2nd, 2016 - 10:14amI’m sure they will make one in the near future. Character take roughly a year to release sets relevant to recent episodes. Example being the ‘Day Of The Doctor’ 3.75″ set, released in late 2014, although DOTD was broadcast in late 2013. And then the Twelfth Doctor 5″ figures, released in late 2015, although the Twelfth Doctor’s first series was broadcast in late 2014.
Considering they’ve already released Supreme Dalek, Davros and regular Dalek figures in the past, the set would consist of re-releases and as such would be a much cheaper set to make rather than a set featuring brand new figures. Daleks sell, so a set like this really is a no-brainer. I’m sure a set such as this will be announced and released this year. If not, Character are missing a golden opportunity.

I have the other 2 Jo figures but I keep them in the box same with the delgado figure, so this means I can buy 2 and open 1 of them so I can have a Jo and a master to go with my Pertwee figures.
Jon Pertwee is my favourite doctor and Katy Manning is amazing as Jo Grant. Also Roger Delgado is my favourite master, so this is one of the best sets to be released in my opinion.
Is this a sign for more classic sets?

-Seventh doctor with silver nemisis cyberman and white and gold imperial dalek.
-ninth doctor with slitheen and a new auton (same sculpt with new paint ie blue suit white shirt)
-eight doctor (movie) with 5″ versions of the red and gold daleks from the TRU 3.75 ” two packs.
-first doctor (unearthly child) with dead planet and invasion earth daleks)
-tenth doctor with purple clockwork robot and vashta nerada
– eleventh doctor (series 6) with series 6 cyberman with gun (or cyberleader) and metallic drone dalek (clean)
-twelfth doctor (velvet coat, repaint of what we already have) davros and clara variant
Of course, were possible I would like to see some of the made-but-never-released figures but going purely of re releases and new paint apps, any of the above would be welcomed by me

2nd Doctor fur coat with Yeti & Cyberman (or Jamie – wishful thinking I know)
1st Doctor with TARDIS (rereleased – I can’t be alone in wanting a second chance to get those, they don’t even have to be electronic for my collection) and a Dalek/Cyberman/companion
I’d love to see more of these. 🙂 I understand some of these are quite wishful but I’d like to get these figures – chances are they’ll be more repaints and rereleases.

I’d also like to see the Destiny of The Daleks Fourth Doctor figure that was intended to be released with a Destiny Dalek as part of the Doctor/Dalek Two packs in 2013 and The Waters of Mars Flood figure that was never released but I’m doubtful of both.

March 30th, 2016 - 5:21pmIf a figure has already been tooled but not released (like the peg doll female), would it basically be the same process to produce as a repaint of an existing figure would be?
For example, would it cost the same to produce the female peg doll as it would to produce a repaint of the 3rd Dr in blue jacket?
If the answe is yes then I see no reason why we can’t have some of the already Tooled but unreleased figures in some sets like these.
I believe this happened with the Korwin and Captain jack without coat figures that were released in the TESCO exclusive series 3 figure set.

Mind you I think the fourth Doctor set in the last wave of B&M three packs was the best seller. Maybe that’s why we’ve got this.

It would’ve been even better if they’d included a grey tweed repaint of his cape, but you can’t have everything I guess.
