Nothing at all in at either Scunthorpe store ( DN15 ), but thanks to Alvin’s note yesterday ( 10:19 ), I was able to find all the new sets at Gainsborough ( only 15 miles away ) – got myself a 5th w/Tardis, Dalek Set #3 ( for the blue Chase Guard ), and the Zygons set. There were still at least 2 Tardises, 1 Dalek Set #3, several Dalek Set #4, and many Zygons / 3rd/4th Companions and Friends of 11th sets there late this afternoon.

Oh dear, that’s really unfortunate for you. Sorry to hear that. I’ve rang the B&M at Belgrave gate and (as far as my memory goes), they were expecting the new sets to arrive. That’s still strange that they didn’t receive them yet.

This may be an inappropriate thing to say here but I feel like I have to say it (sorry):
Is there any way of knowing what has gone badly wrong with B&M’s distribution of the new sets?
Late on Wednesday last week was when Whovians on here first reported seeing and acquiring sets in the North-Of-England. Many of the stores that received stock up until last weekend are now running low, and those same stores are likely requesting/expecting more stock soon.
In complete contrast to that, you have London, Cardiff, East Anglia, and the entirety of the South-Of-England etc, who one week on, have set to receive any of the new sets, in any of their branches of B&M (which is one heck of a lot of branches collectively).
It must bother Booboo to have to constantly, day after day (at the moment), look up requested areas, only to have to report that, once again, there is nothing showing on the B&M App? Whovians (myself included in Ipswich) check here each day and/or head out to multiple branches every few days, only to have to come back and report to everyone that there STILL isn’t any new stock where they are. The Capitals of England and Wales, the centres of Classic and NuWho are missing sets that are available at the opposite end of the British Isles!
Thank you to everyone, especially Booboo, for enduring this distribution nightmare…
I only wish there was a way to know (there’s nothing online) how or why something like this happened.

It would help me a lot if i did know whats behind it and how they operate, but we have no contacts at B&M or anywhere else really who we can ask.

My gut feeling is a big batch of stock was loaded to regional distribution centres to those areas that now have them last wed and were distributed from there over the days ahead, and that another big Batch will be sent out to other new areas today which i think is “toy” day, if stock doesn’t start appearing in some of those areas void of stock from tomorrow i dont know what to think.

I think also a week isn’t very long but seems and eternity when people want to go out and buy having seen other parts of the country with them.

      October 7th, 2020 - 11:14am

I do apologise that, I’m one of those people who requests booboo to check the stock for the area where I live.

    • booboo

      October 7th, 2020 - 11:17am

I dont mind, I’m here to help (or try to anyway), i just hope that stock in at least some of the large voids starts to appear from tomorrow

    • JJwho

      October 7th, 2020 - 11:37am

Completely agree. It doesn’t help that B&M have removed all Doctor Who products from their website and app and so you can no longer scan the barcode. Instead got to travel to different stores, during a pandemic, think of the carbon footprint. Or ask booboo who has been kind enough to help people determine where has stock.

      October 7th, 2020 - 11:39am

Alot of it has to do with the Corona virus, greatly affecting the release of the 1st Wave.
I’m sure if there was no covid the 1st wave would have been released much sooner and probably sold out awhile back and not causing a bottleneck when this new wave was released.
BLAME COVID, I know I do.

    • booboo

      October 7th, 2020 - 11:45am

I will try and check at the B&M Stores in the area where I live, but since I’ve got college in my way, it may not be often but, I’ll do my best. And I 100% agree that COVID is the reason for this. If that pandemic never occured, none of the delays would happened.

    Hi from Notts/Derby border

I checked Osmaston, Meteor Centre, and Ilkeston this weekend. Nothing new in any of them.

The shopping pattern is really weird too. Osmaston has almost a whole metre shelf devoted to Who sets, but all still full of Axos UNIT, 4th Doctor Companions, and 13th Doctor sets (the Daleks & Tardis vanished last month), whereas the other two have only about 2 or 3 on an otherwise empty shelf. Which makes we wonder if they’re stocking them up now while I’m writing this and can’t get there. Grrr.

      October 7th, 2020 - 11:42am

I’m honestly not too sure, I was in a bit of a rush so didn’t have time to take in all the stock that was there! I just noticed all the 3 packs and grabbed the one I wanted. But given that last week they only had the 13th doctor set on the shelves i think they’re changing the stock every few days or so – hopefully you can get your hands on the 5th doctor set soon!!

No worries, I guess I’ll just have to cross my fingers! Although, since you said they seem to be bringing new stock pretty quickly hopefully by the time I have a look, I’ll see the celery man himself along with his blue box!!
