Pardon my asking and if I do sound aggressive but, I understand that it’s B&M’s responsiblity to distribute the stock but, does Al Dewar or an employee at Character Options aware of the distribution delays?

yes they are, but like he said, the product is sent direct, its B&M’s exclusive in the UK so they can do what they want with it.

Sorry for saying this but, B&M should really up their game, =S

If they sell, even if its just in the north, they won’t be bothered about what anyone thinks.

Just back from Hull Kingston Retail Park. They had every set except the Terror of the Zygons. They’ve split them into two sections around the store so don’t give up if you’ve only seen one like I almost did. They’re pretty low on Dalek set #1 though.

we have tried 3 different approaches and got nowhere

Stuck in the middle really, on the one hand we would really like to tell our visitors “officially” what the situation is, but on the other hand we dont want to rock the boat as without B&M these figures would simply not exist.

I know how you feel. I find there’s 3 types of people in this game – collectors, hoarders and scalpers.

      I’m an hoarder
Used to be a collector, but people that know me probably say it’s bordering on hoarding.

I’ve already given up, for now. The reason being is that it’ll take my local B&M stores AGES to get the new wave of figures in. It took them a while for the July 2020 sets to arrive there and believe me, I did check over the summer months; only a couple of figures from that wave. They’ve loaded on the rest of the July 2020 figure sets in October instead. I understand how you feel

well it seems as alot of these stores are not going to get them now anyway…it seems that the few sets that were released to allocated stores are not able to get anymore! i would have liked to have got the friends of the 13th doctor one. sadly the stores near me – corby-northants-rushden-leicester and kettering were i live still hold only the old sets. i hate to say it seems that b&m annouce these exclusive box sets but are not able to deliver them!

Still nothing new at the Bury Road branch in Ipswich… Plus today is the unhappy, 1 month anniversary of when this debacle started (yes, some branches in the North-Of-England put the October Wave out on the Wednesday, but it was the Thursday things really started…).
At this point I just don’t know any more! Are the staff in charge of Southern Distribution for Character Options at B&M all ill with C19? Are their replacements non-Doctor-Who-fans? Will we still be in this position in 4 weeks time? My biggest worry is that because absolutely NOTHING has happened (besides the strange smattering of HOTD #3 & #4 sets that went out to random stores) in 1 entire month, what’s to stop the SAME thing happening with the Remembrance and Witch’s Familiar Sets?

Bristol Cribbs Causeway and Imperial Park have been getting the sets in. Unfortunately there seems to be some bulk buyers around but I have managed to get all the sets from Imperial Park over the course of 2 or 3 visits.

My personal advice (no inside information) to anyone in southern England or Wales is if you have transport available, it would be better to travel to your nearest B&M shops with definite sightings of the new wave.
Even with the cost of petrol it would still be much cheaper than paying scalper prices.
I think with the covid situation, which is likely to get much worse plus the rumours I’ve heard of the southern distribution centre not recieving stock due to not being ready, I really believe that’s it.

    • Coleman

      October 29th, 2020 - 12:27pm

I know weve been very lucky in the north and managed to get all the sets fairly easy.
BUT, if the situation had been reversed, I know for a fact I’d have made the big road trip a couple of weeks ago by now.

      October 29th, 2020 - 12:38pm

I emailed Character today suggesting that they do another run of these figures for their southern customers. This happened with the season 12 Bluray sets that barely anyone got. It’s just not good enough IMO. It’s hassle enough finding these without all this. If they made the same number of sets this time around where the heck are they all?

    • Coleman

      October 29th, 2020 - 12:50pm

Just wonder (don’t know for sure) but considering what’s happened, if the 1st wave sold fairly well give those shops priority and likewise if in shops the 1st wave didn’t sell well give them low priority.
I know, reading alot of these posts that a pattern was emerging that although Wales and Southern England were reporting lack of new sets arriving they also mentioned loads of old stock on shelf’s still.
Some even saying ” my local stores packed with old stuff, doubt we’ll see the new wave”.

    • booboo

      October 29th, 2020 - 12:59pm

I could perhaps understand that from town to town, store to store, but areas are far to widespread , and in our Case our stores still have loads of the old sets but still got the new.

Also noticed the further South you travel the city’s and towns seem to be more populated with people that have migrated to this country.
(Some only in last few years)
Just wondering if there as interested in Dr who than someone that’s lived here All there lives.

This evening York Foss Island Branch did not have any Dalek packs or TARDIS’.

They only have multiple sets of 13th companions, Zygons and 4th Doctor companions sets.

So in the past week, I’ve been 5 stores in Somerset, Only one has had the newest sets, with the Dalek sets being all taken by 1 person as soon as they were stocked!
Two stores still haven’t had the first wave either.
Not happy about how they have been distributed as I asked staff at all the stores and they all said that they ARE NOT due to have anymore Doctor Who mechandise delivered until after the new year.
Stores were, Bridgwater, Clevedon, x2 Weston-super-Mare and Cribbs Causeway Bristol.

Dave, I would take that statement of no stock til the new year, with a big pinch of salt. I suspect they are saying that to stop people coming in and asking.

I went to the Charlton B&M. And they have ONE OF EACH OF THE DALEKS LEFT.

And they still have the three triple packs from the previous set for those in south London who have missed out.
