April 11th, 2022 - 11:00pmInteresting, not sure what they can do on budget line that would be new enough to entice me to the 9th and 10th Doctor sets, but we shall see.
Hoping for more luck regarding the 8th (Lucie and Charley please) or 13th (Master please) sets. Very intriguing possibilities.
Would wish for Sea Devil in 13th set as well, but not sure they would’ve known about the new design for them when these sets were being planned and made, maybe though as it’s in the second wave, no idea how long the whole process takes behind the scenes.

9th Dr and 2 Autons/Slytheen

April 11th, 2022 - 10:08pmI’m sure a year or so ago, a certain CO representative asked a forum for their ideas on strait re-releases of nu-who figures. So it would make sense that this year we are getting nu-who.
I’m hoping that they won’t be strait re-releases tho.

the figures are all based on 13th Doctor figures ,yaz gives it away.
Hoping for some surprises, specially The 8th Doctor set, Although this could be 3 version of the 8th Dr repackaged.

13th Yaz and Dan all from legend. or two sea devil and Tux Doctor, or sea devil outfit Dr
oh and Dr Jo. etc. : ) I know The Master and doctor are all BBC copyright, but isn’t there dome expense at using T

Electronic Tardis…maybe, maybe not? Don’t have much interest in the ‘newer’ series stuff. ‘Classic’ Doctor Who are my favourites.

April 11th, 2022 - 6:48pmWouldnt we all but not this year it seems andrew. Not so much as a 5th doctor companions set i really thought this might be the year. Oh well maybe in the anniversary year. Ill reserve judgement till i see what they unveil.

April 11th, 2022 - 11:09pmUnfortunately there’s legal IP (Intellectual Property) rights issues surrounding Grace and Chang Lee. Basically, the BBC don’t wholly own the copyright to those characters – they are jointly owned by them and Universal who co-made the TV Movie. But the Doctor and the Master were pre-existing characters wholly owned by the BBC and so can be licensed out by them without getting Universal involved – hence Eaglemoss have been able to do the Eric Roberts Master (and did a cracking job) but Big Finish had to create new characters for Yee Jee Tso and Daphne Ashbrook to play and DWM got into trouble after they used Grace in their comic strip without seeking permission from (or offering payment to) Universal. The story goes it was a genuine innocent mistake and they didn’t know they had to. So they are unlikely to happen. I think maybe a TV Movie 8th reissue (perhaps in shirtsleeves like some of the promo pics from the time, for a variant?) and maybe Kroton the Cyberman and an adapted Peri figure for Lucy Miller?

April 11th, 2022 - 5:03pmFinally, some New Who sets at last. Hoping that the 8th Doctor set includes The 8th Doctor of course, and perhaps two Big Finish companions. As for the 10th Doctor Set, I’m hoping for a Series 4 type set where we could get an updated Donna, Wilf and Jenny perhaps. Would be cool to see Lynda, alongside Pete and Jackie Tyler in the 9th Doctor set. And then for the 13th doctor set, I hope to see a Dan figure, updated Yaz and perhaps Vinder.

Even if they did that right now, it would be a missed opportunity for all the other series 1 stuff that would make great figures. Yeah it would nice for them to exist, but they’re not gonna make figures of characters such as them, especially when on a budget. Truth is, they wouldn’t sell as well as others. Especially for a one-off side character like Lynda. That’s just not how it works I’m afraid.

April 12th, 2022 - 10:11amThere is plenty they can do from series 1 that has not been done. 13’s set will not include Sea Devils. The episode is not even out yet. And since CO very first started doing sets, they always release figures of stuff at least a year after its been on TV. There’s also no reason for them to straight off do Sea Devils when they’ve practically done almost nothing from the past 3 series. If we get new Sea Devil figures it’ll be quite a while from now.

Disappointed theres no 5th companion sets again. They should have split between Nu and Classic for the 3 figure sets.

April 11th, 2022 - 8:18pmI didnt think the original likeness of those 2 character releases were bad but the series 1 figures articulation was pretty poor and the stance even worse. An improvement on that would be welcome but im not expecting photoreal on a budget line.
