B&M 2020 Ace Set UK Product Code 364315. Available from 8th November 2020.

This set celebrates Remembrance of the Daleks from Season 25 Episode 3, first broadcast in October 1988.

The TARDIS arrives in London in 1963, where the Doctor and Ace discover that two rival factions of Daleks – one loyal to the Dalek Emperor and one to the Dalek Supreme – are seeking the Hand of Omega, a powerful Time Lord device that the first Doctor hid there during an earlier sojourn on Earth.

The Daleks are focusing their search around Coal Hill School – the school that the Doctor’s grand-daughter Susan attended – while a military unit led by Group Captain Gilmore is attempting to resist their incursions.

The figures in this set feature the Imperial Dalek and Ace as well as accessories including backpack and RPG launcher.

Speaking of the new release, Al Dewar, Creative Director said: “This year has seen a cascade of new sets for collectors and fans and these latest two sets are favourites of mine because they represent unique moments in Doctor Who that many fans including myself remember… wonderful stuff!’

Very surprised she comes with a complete Dalek.
When the bazzooka was mentioned before I thought she would be accompanied by the destroyed Imperial Dalek

Can anyone hazard a guess whether this Dalek will use the old semi-circle eyestalk or the new full circle? I have an original Imperial but he’s been missing his eyestalk for years… Thought this might be a great opportunity to finally repair him!

I’m quite looking forward to this set, I know tbe mesh is inaccurate but its unnoticeable unless looking for it. Mainly glad the eye is accurate this time round.

Considering the mesh has been repurposed, wonder what it was repurposed for, potentially an upcoming release?

Yes! I only have one imperial so this is most welcome so I can get another without paying a stupid big price on eBay!
I have this ace but it’s worth it for another Imperial Dalek as they are my favourite design.

Because the original mould was retooled for something else and this is the nearest they can get within B&M budgets.

They have not had any of the latest sets yet neither has Brislington. The only stores in Bristol that have had the latest sets are Cribbs Causeway and Hengrove. Good Luck

Glad these are out for those who missed out on previous released versions.

Kind if glad I can save the £40 which will go towards the next Classic Season Blu-ray set.

If only I could get the rocketlauncher cheap.

I think the mesh error was caused by the fact that CO may not have the correct neck mold available from the previous release or it no longer exists. CO possibly knew it was wrong and went for the nearest option. As mentioned many times the B and M sets are made to a cost. All things considered not a bad set especially for people that did not manage to get the first release.

If anything it would make me want to seek out the originals which make these look inferior. Shame, I really like the HOTD and the companion sets they,ve released this year these two are a cheap mis-step. It might have been better to hold back until 2021 and made a better job on them.

Does this have the cone shaped plunger like the four-pack release, or is it just a regular plunger with bits cut out? I do hope it’s the former, the latter would be disappointing.

Now I really wish I didn’t buy that Ace of ebay because it I want to get 2 or 3 of these Imperial Daleks that I don’t have any of, I will have to end up with 3 or 4 Aces unless I can shift them on ebay but I think everyone and the grandmother will be doing the same. I will hold onto the other figures I have to get rid of I think.

I think too many people are complaining about the mesh, it sticks out, but in a good way. Like with the latest HOTD sets, we now have two different representations of this Dalek to choose to display. Do miss the blue eye though, even if it is inaccurate.

Let me get this straight…we’re getting a brand new (bonus, considering the release schedule) set…the first ‘Remembrance’ imperial dalek in 10 years…and people are moaning about the texture of the mesh? It’s very clearly an imperial dalek and looks fantastic. Sometimes I wonder why Character bother when all they get is moaning…

Hi, I know this is random. If there’s a radiator on the opposite side of a wall, and the figures are mint in box on the other side. And the radiators heat only warms the wall a bit. Can the figures or box be damaged?

    • ReddDaleK

      October 30th, 2020 - 1:25pm

No. But will keep the box dry. Are the boxes in the dark away from UV light? Remember the plastic will shrink over time as it dries out. So be delicate with handling. Or go to a flower market and buy a roll some clear acitate and wrap them after a week. Just make sure they have aclimitised to your house.

So, they re-release an imperial Dalek about 9 years later and they mess up the most important detail? Why is there mesh around the slats?!?

Variants mate, this makes the originals worth more, good on you character

    • Gregor

      October 30th, 2020 - 1:17pm

They retooled to original mould in 2013 for the Renagade dalek rerelease, they didn’t make a new one, they actually changed the old one so sadly the proper imperial slat no longer exists.

    • Oscar Denman

      October 30th, 2020 - 1:20pm

Stop with all this “variants” milarke. It’s not how it appeared on screen so why do it? They’ve changed the eye stalk, sureley that’s enough variation? I’ve emailed the PR team anyway, asking if they can pass on the information.

    • A dalek gave me flowers

      October 30th, 2020 - 1:24pm

Not just the slats, the figures, (like most of CO Daleks) skirt is wrong too. CO make some great figures but ive never been a big fan of the same sculpt Dalek repaints. I liked the 60s dead planet Daleks set but they had the wrong number of dashes on the back, now every review on Yt says the inaccurate statement from the box. I know Eaglemoss isnt perfect but its so nice too have a collection of accurately shaped Daleks in a line to see the evolution of the prop. Eaglemoss aren’t perfect either though. But to CO fans its still a nice set for anyone who wants both figures, the Ace is excellent.

In the grand scheme of things, does it really, really matter??

    • Anonymous

Imagine actually emailing the Pr and throwing a hissy fit cause your plastic toy isn’t completely screen accurate.

      FACTS!!!!’

    • Anonymous

      October 30th, 2020 - 7:01pm

JL of course it doesn’t matter. If inaccuracies bother people so much just don’t buy the figures. If you want completely accurate figures then be prepared to pay a lot more as it would mean retooling and extra work meaning a significant increase in costs for the manufacturer and a big price hike for the customer. This looks like what it represents… an imperial dalek.

      October 30th, 2020 - 10:29pm

Exactly! I’m so hyped for this set!

    • Oscar Denman

      October 30th, 2020 - 10:38pm

Guys guys guys, its a little thing called passion. I know the imperials aren’t accurate anyway, they use the genesis sculpt. Yeah that’s fine whatever. As a consumer, you deserve the same quality as you were served two times prior. I “asked” the pr team and they gave me a straight forward answer. There was no hissy fit involved, it’s just a bit frustrating, yknow? We’re the consumer and we deserve quality why is that so hard to wrap your head around?

    • Oscar Denman

      October 30th, 2020 - 10:40pm

While we’re at it, why not just give the tenth doctor a costume without pin stripes, hell, why don’t we just go back to the disco dancing fugues if that saves money
