Big Finish Torchwood 84 The Restoration of Catherine

Available to order from www.bigfinish.com

A trip back in time for Sergeant Andy

Tom Price and Samuel Barnett star in Torchwood: The Restoration of Catherine, a brand-new full-cast audio drama, due for release in June from Big Finish Productions.

PC Andy Davidson may appear to be a regular police constable, but he’s got a long history of helping Torchwood with their unusual cases. Surprisingly, one of his recurring partners in crime-solving is Norton Folgate, an agent of the 1950s-era Torchwood One.

The last time the two characters shared an adventure as part of Torchwood’s Monthly Range was in 2018’s Goodbye Piccadilly. They’re due another meeting…

June’s instalment in the range sees Torchwood TV series star Tom Price and Tony-nominee Samuel Barnett reprise the roles of Andy and Norton. This time, the pair are sent far back into history, where they find themselves in the midst of a very unusual crisis.

Torchwood: The Restoration of Catherine is now available to pre-order as a collector’s edition CD (+ download for just £10.99) or as a digital download only (for just £8.99), exclusively from www.bigfinish.com

Sergeant Andy and duplicitous 1950s Torchwood agent Norton Folgate find themselves trapped inside a house in the seventeenth century.

Can they arrange a wedding before all of time collapses?

Torchwood: The Restoration of Catherine also stars Ebony Jonelle (as Catherine de Winter), Shai Matheson (as Sir Reginald Hardgoing), and George Naylor (as Squire Edmund Dashington).

Producer and writer James Goss said: “It’s been a while since Norton and Andy have had a caper. They’ve dealt with hauntings in Cardiff (Ghost Mission), Martian war machines in London (Goodbye Piccadilly), and now the two of them find themselves in the 1660s and one of them has to get married before all time falls apart.

“It’s a messy tribute to Restoration Comedy, with Andy in the role of The Nobly Dim Hero and Norton as His Duplicitous Servant. Things get very messy, especially as the guest cast really really decided to go for it. No scenery is left unchewed. Huzzah!”

Torchwood contains adult material and may not be suitable for younger listeners.

The Restoration of Catherine marks the 84th release in the Torchwood monthly range. Big Finish listeners can pre-order it as part of a six-release bundle including Torchwood 79 to 84, for just £60 (collector’s edition CDs + downloads) or £50 (downloads only), or a twelve-release bundle of Torchwood 73 to 84, for just £110 (collector’s edition CDs + downloads) or £96 (downloads only).

And, there’s still plenty of trouble ahead for the Torchwood team. The next twelve-release bundle, including Torchwood 85-96, is now available to pre-order for £110 (collector’s edition CDs + downloads) or £96 (downloads only). These are also available as six-release bundles, of Torchwood 85-90 and 91-96, for £60 (collector’s edition CDs + downloads) or £50 (downloads only). Titles and further details will be announced at a later date.

All the above prices include the special pre-order discount and are subject to change after general release.

Unfortunately (for us, fortunately for him), Burn gets a lot of work in America and therefore he doesn’t have much time to come and do Big Finish. Here’s hoping he does some more in the future though!
