Big Finish The Eleventh Doctor Chronicles Volume 2

The Eleventh Doctor returns to audio

Geronimo! The Eleventh Doctor will be materialising in four brand-new audio adventures from Big Finish, due for release in September 2021. For the first time, Big Finish’s Doctor Chronicles range is to be produced as a full-cast drama, with cinematic sound design and complete musical score.

Jacob Dudman takes on the role of the mercurial Time Lord in Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor Chronicles, alongside a talented voice cast which includes Jo Woodcock (Tess of the D’Urbervilles, Land Girls, All The Small Things), Nicholas Asbury (Chewing Gum, Innocent, Alma’s Not Normal), Jeany Spark (Man Down, Wallander, Collateral) and Paul Panting (The Octonauts, Chuggington, Bo bthe Builder). Together they will face zombies on a space station, populist preachers on a distant planet and alien lifeforms who live down the plughole. Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor Chronicles Volume 2is now available to pre-order as a collector’s edition CD box set (for £22.99) or digital download (for £19.99), exclusively at

The four forthcoming adventures are as follows:

The Evolving Dead by Doris V Sutherland

The dead stalk the corridors of research station Romeo. For a technician (dead) and her ex-boyfriend (also dead), the Doctor’s their only chance to escape. For the rest of the crew, he’s their only chance to feed.

The Day Before They Came by Daniel Blythe
In the shabby seaside town of Bayview, Kayla Worthington is sitting on the beach waiting for an alien invasion. Her patience is rewarded when an alien arrives, although he doesn’t seem to be invading. He’s called the Doctor, and he wants to buy her a cup of tea.

The Melting Pot by Christopher Cooper

Arriving on Piir to sample the local cuisine, the Doctor finds a society wildly different from the one he remembers. With violence brewing on the streets, the Doctor will have to get to the bottom of what has gone wrong on Piir, before the world tears itself apart.

A Tragical History by Tessa North

To most of the inmates in Hythe Prison, life is miserable. However, some are living out their idealised lives within its walls. Amongst the dank conditions, the Doctor is about to uncover the key to everything he could ever desire.

Actor Jacob Dudman said: “I’m thrilled to be stepping into the role of the Doctor for these full-cast audio adventures! As a fan, it’s really exciting that Big Finish has made this move into creating an Eleventh Doctor full-cast range, and I will give it my absolute all to do the character justice.”

Damn, I saw the first line and genuinely thought Matt was returning for this. Dudman is a brilliant talent but I really wish we could get the real Eleven back.

I think Jacob Dudman is a Diamond of a find for Big Finish, as some of his Non Doctor voices in other Stories , is remarkable , as its not until I read or listen to the Cast list, I realise It was him.

So This is another Day one Purchase for me. And since Matt is not ready to come back yet(he wants to and says its not time for him. Its only 7 years since he left. I think Leaving is almost as big a Media Scrum as arriving with current DW.

So In the Meantime Jacob Will do his fantastic Vocals for Matt. Its uncanny, how good Jacob is.

More Joy to come after such an Awkward, angular Stumble 2020 has been(and bits of 2021)

With so many great releases coming out soon (with Tennant, Eccleston, Roberts etc), I think I’ll have to skip this one and wait for the real thing.

Ooh, is that a Pakhar on the cover, in the scarf?

I wish Matt Smith would come and do this, I get the feeling he’s in the ‘currently too famous for this kind of thing’ category so they’re scared of asking him

No, they’ve asked and he says he’ll do it when he’s available. It just seems that they haven’t asked again recently, so nothing has come of it.

Not exactly thrilled by the use of the term ‘full cast’ here, as opposed to the previous releases where there were normally only two performers per tale. Makes me think we’re not getting Matt Smith anytime soon?

I wonder if he was asked during lockdown ?

They got Eccleston and that was viewed as almost impossible before. I’m confident, in time, they’ll get Smith and Capaldi

I’m sure Smith will do BF when his schedule allows. Which makes the Faux Eleven seem even stranger.
