Big Finish Once and Future Episode Four Two’s Company

Available to order from www.bigfinish.com

The Time War. The Doctor has been injured and brought to a Time Lord field hospital. His body glows with energy, but this is no regeneration into a future form – instead, the Doctor’s past faces begin to appear as he flits haphazardly between incarnations…

Staggering to his TARDIS, the Doctor sets out to solve the mystery of his ‘degeneration’. Who has done this to him? How? And why? From the Earth to the stars, across an array of familiar times and places, he follows clues to retrace his steps, encountering old friends and enemies along the way. Tumbling through his lives, the Doctor must stop his degeneration before he loses himself completely…

Back on Earth, the Doctor finds a clue in the search for the origins of the degeneration weapon. In his Sixth body, he meets Jackie Tyler and Lady Christina de Souza – thrown together by fate, or something more? – in pursuit of a powerful item of jewellery.

Meanwhile, a Time Lord renegade has duped Harry Sullivan into helping him stop the Doctor’s travels before they begin – and all are set on a collision course.

One thing I’m confused about is does the Doctor regenerate his clothes too, or does he change his clothes to suit the incarnation?
The artwork and trailers kinda suggests he changes his clothes after.
It’s just really annoying because I’m never sure how to imagine the Doctor, in his time war outfit or just his usual attire.
It seems the latter but like when does he have time to do that is what goes through my head.

I mean, there are several precedent for it.
Considering how fast the Doctor is changing, I kind of it imagine it similar to how the Doctor changes in their mindscape in the Power of the Doctor.

Coming Soon: The Taran Woodbeast boxset. A character from Nu Who ‘insert your choice here’ meets the woodbeast and they encounter ‘insert Doctor choice here’ where they go on more continuity busting adventures before the Woodbeast becomes the chief of Torchwood and meets River Song. Volume 2 coming soon.

Are they playing character bingo in the BF writers room? Also the aged Harry is a bit questionable.

Glad I’m not the only one thinking ahead Harry seems questionable. I generally don’t mind them using the original actor on covers for recasts but this feels a bit uncomfortable.

“He meets Jackie Tyler and Lady Christina de Souza – thrown together by fate, or something more?” – more along the lines of they were available for the recording and it won’t upset continuity. How random is that pairing ?

It will upset continuity, no way in hell did Jackie Tyler meet the sixth doctor. It just didn’t happen did it. Very dumb decision to do this. And when can this realistically take place, how old is lady Christina in 2005/6 or 2005/7 if we go buy the one year jump in universe.

Maybe we should wait until the resolution of the full story eh? More negativity and complaints to a nice and fresh way to celebrate differnt eras with a fun way to mix up some characters and not just repeat the same multi doctor stories we have had for decades.

I suspect that this doctor degenerating and flitting about his time line will have impact on all those he touches and part of the resolution will sync the timelines and cause people to forget?

Each episode so far has unanswered questions and this can’t be a coincidence:

*why doesn’t Sarah Jane remember meeting the doctor or monk or coming to the future

*why doesn’t the doctor remember the curator

Again, let’s just enjoy the ride and stop being continuity police on a SEVEN HOUR audio that we only have 2 hours worth
